Skyviper 1,101 Posted July 25, 2017 So I read that in August all of America will get a chance to see a solar eclipse but a few lucky bastards will get a chance to be in the path of totality. https://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/solar.html https://www.greatamericaneclipse.com/ It will be neat to this. Even though I'm the section that won't see the entire thing. Chances are it will be raining that day.
Fubar512 1,350 Posted July 27, 2017 Witnessed two eclipses a long time ago (in March of 1970 and July of 1972). Both were partial eclipses in my area, and in the latter event, I set up a telescope on a street corner with a sun projection screen so passers-by could get a safe look. What I remember being cool about the 1972 event, was seeing literally thousands of projected images of the eclipse caused by the sun shining through the tree leaves in the area.
