+Fubar512 Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 (edited) Just checked, it's still where it should be in WoV, and I'm running Patch 3. Follow these directions: To install Korat RTAFB into WoV and have it appear where it should, do the following. In your WoV\Terrain\VietnamSEA folder, edit VietnamSEA_Targets.INI as follows (if you don't have this file, you'll need to extract it from the Vietnam_SEA.cat): First, scroll on down to "TargetArea094", and delete it, replacing it with the following: [TargetArea094] Name=Korat RTAFB Position=298000.00,496000.00 Radius=9899.495117 ActiveYear=0 Location=2 Alignment=FRIENDLY AirfieldDataFile=korat_airfield.INI NumSquadrons=9 Target[001].Type=korat_airbase Target[001].Offset=0,0 Target[001].Heading=60 Next, edit the VietnamSEA_Types.ini as per the instructions provided by Gepard Edited August 14, 2005 by Fubar512 Quote
dfang Posted August 14, 2005 Author Posted August 14, 2005 He he...Im gettin there,,,Hey!! where's the runway??? Fubar,, i followed your instructions before,,but it didn't work at that time... I've since ,,reinstalled VietnamSEA terrain, extracted VietnamSEA_Target.ini & VietnamSEA_Types.ini ,,made the changes you suggested,,and this is what i got...At least AD Korat AB is showing... I noticed when i made a test mission using Kreelins V 1.02 mission editor,,that when i select TAKE OFF,,it won't let me tick the box...i have to go into the mission and change START ON GROUND=FALSE to TRUE..Then this is where i am ... ******************************************************************** Quote
Guest pdelbarba Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 i have a similar problem in all the terrain i download unless you put optional airports in you take off from a cow pasture full of trucks Quote
+Fubar512 Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 (edited) Dfang, Did you delete the reference to the original, WoV Korat, as per directions? If you did not, that's one reason you'd have buildings on the runway. Did you orientate the airbase itself at 60 degrees on the tile as per the directions? If not, buildings will appear on the runway (again), and the runway's takeoff head will be off. Did you make a mistake and try correcting the Korat_Airfield.ini's data by changing the runway's orientation to 60 degrees, instead of leaving it as it's default 90? Go back and double check all these. Edited August 14, 2005 by Fubar512 Quote
dfang Posted August 15, 2005 Author Posted August 15, 2005 (edited) Fubar, Yes,,,,Yes,,,,No,,, I think i finally got it sorted out,,,i evidently didn't place my aircraft symbol exactly over the runway when creating the mission,,it's quirky,...BUT!,,,,, using Kreelins mission editor V 1.02..with AD's Korat base,,the editor still will not allow you to select it as a TAKE OFF point,,,you have to make the mission,,then open it up with notepad & change StartOnGround=FALSE to TRUE,,,, ....Then if the stars are aligned right,,,you will be at the correct position on the Korat runway... Here is a couple screen shots & the test mission i made,...using AD's great Korat RTAFB & VietnamSEA terrain.. Thanks for the help Fubar.. :) ******************************************************************** Korat_AB_TEST_Mission.txt ******************************************************************** ******************************************************************** Dien Bien Phu airfield Edited August 15, 2005 by dfang Quote
