  1. Credit where credit is due. I just manage the empty rolls in the porta stalls around here. Join with me in extending our appreciation to Brandon for tearing into this with his vast knowledge of the IPB Systems. Thank you Brandon! Our appreciation to MK2 for being the man with the vision. Thank you MK2! Our appreciation to USAFMTL for being the guy having the ideas to get it done. Thank you USAFMTL! Our appreciation to Fates for everything else and putting up with me. Thank you Fates! Back to work 'duty' calls. Erik
  2. Hi; I think this file and documentation would be best served on the file server. That way people can find it easily, especially when this thread gets buried. Our goal is to provide you the place and opportunity to share your work with others. Nice job on the sound pack hope to see it in the files directories. Take care; Erik
  3. Always a pleasure providing for a vocal and appreciative group such as yourselves. Take care; Erik
  4. Howdy; Some points of interest you might consider but aren't really what you're asking. I don't have anything compatible to help give you an idea of an acceptable playability level (bench mark) for your machine but ... System Resources - Check your task manager to see what's loaded and running in the background before starting your game. You might want to consider stopping some of the services on your machine depending of course on what's loaded. Everyone manages their environment differently so going into detail probably won't help. If it were me I'd want to know what services are running, why they are running, and why I haven't shut them off. Memory - I was told that matched sticks of memory are always the way to go when more than one memory stick is in use. So matched pairs like two 512 sticks or two 1 gig sticks both with the same speed 5ns etc are optimal. I only mention this because 784 in any configuration I'm aware of is unmatched. Love to hear any views on this if anyone has any. Front Side Bus - I'd say the most limiting factor of your machine is the FSB. In your next upgrade or purchase spend the extra cash if able for an 800 or Gig FSB. Again I'll say I've never played WOV on a machine like yours that I can tell you if this is the problem. I only make mention of the FSB as it's the bottleneck in most configurations where demand is high. AGP Apature Size - I'd check your system bios to make sure your machine is set for the 256 AGP Apature Size, or matched to your card (ie 128 to 128 etc) Settings that don't match here can really slow your machine to a crawl. If you're in doubt of your card's size, check the Manufacturer's Site for details. **Note: All information above is to be considered helpful advice. There are many members of the community more qualified to help than myself I'm sure, hopefully they'll chime in and correct my errors or thinking as necessary. **Subliminal Message** B*U*Y**A*L*I*E*N*W*A*R*E ** Take care; Erik

  7. Upgrade Downtime - Phase 2

Everyone; Please expect that our services at combatace.com will be undergoing some hardware upgrades to facilitate our community demands. This upgrade will move us to a faster and quicker web appliance. You can expect that our site will be offline starting Tuesday March 29th 2005 at approximately 9:00 PM PST for a duration not to exceed an hour. This upgrade has been well planned out with the datacenter and we may not even notice the transition, but downtime is possible. When: Tuesday - March 29th 2005 Time: 9:00 PM Pacific Standard Time to 10:00 PM Pacific Standard Time What: Site may appear offline for part or all of the above time frame Please make every attempt to conclude any uploads / downloads / posts / modifications to any part of our site 1 hour prior to the event at 8:00 PM PST. If you're using the site during that time your changes / additions may be lost. Viewing of the site and it's content will not affect the upgrade. I appreciate your help and understanding so we may continue to provide you the most awesome home on the net. Best regards; Erik Thompson

  9. Hi everyone; If you notice a link to a specific file is broken, meaning you click the download button from either the "server" or the "mirror" and you get a message that the file can't be found, please report it. There's a place available in the download area to report broken links, and you're welcome to post a note here about it. This will help us define what files are missing and need to be restored or need to be removed from our download index as they no longer exist or the author has removed the file. Thanks in advance; Erik
  10. Jibber

    New recruit orientation day.
  11. Erik if I may ask?

Hi Ghost; It's probably my warped sense of humor. I thought it would be funny to brand my avatar with some corny duality. Sort of like I named my dog DeeOhGee. Where some might look at it and say it's a turbofan and nacelle and others would think I was describing myself. I enjoy anything that burns JetA, solids, and liquids that produces more than 25,000 pounds of thrust. Erik
