I sympathize with you ... mine should live in the ocean too. Nice smile though, gotta admit. Definitely AF dentistry or summer teeth, either way, nice.

Indeed it is. Good luck.

The OFF Forums and Downloads are Closed for Maintenance.

I laughed so hard I cried. "Gay snowman" holy sheet of ice batman that was funny stuff. At least the guy won't have to worry about damaging the chili ring with curry after that, the damage is done, had to leave scar tissue.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Sometimes it takes being there to help understand an idea, philosophy, and principles by which others live. You get it and thanks! In my case when OFF lost their home at SimOuthouse they came to us by way of invitation. I dropped everything to put a place together and get it furnished so everyone would have a home and not have to feel cast out or left in the dark, the devs especially. The sleepless nights I've had making sure the OFF forums were working after an upgrade, seeing they were horked and having to redo their entire skin to get them back live. When I think about the hours I spent making images and changes to fine tune the look they become endless but are gone now. Time for a new book. We all know the ending to this one. Thank you. You guys are true gentlemen. Brandy top shelf and our box of finest cigars to go around.

By the way that's a nice picture of the really course sandy beaches you have there. Does that Zodiac come optional with a SeaWhiz or Phalanx. Wait a minute Switzerland is land locked, that must be the Bodensee and you were guarding the shore from the pesky Austrians who what might want to come sneak some of your chocolate sweeties back home. Dastardly! No really good pic tho, thanks for sharing. Which one?
-
I swear the Swiss think of everything! Chocolate Bar, only in the Alps, it would melt in 1/2 a second here. The Yodeler, f'in awesome! I do have one question tho? What's the ONLY neutral country in the World doing with an Army? That's pretty sneaky.

Surprisingly yes! Enjoy. That's what all you elite guys say but deep down you know you really want one. I'll even offer a unit badge to make the deal more appealing. I looked Dave and I don't have them. If you want to pass me a logo I might can try to hack in a few more. No promises though.

No RAF it's funny, your humor is still in tact.

My passion and love for this community is what has kept me going these 17 some years. That's where my passion comes from, that's where it lives. I've seen them come and go in all shapes and sizes, I'm still here.. Anyone who knows me knows I'll take the bread off my plate to give to the night watch dog around here, if I have to. Sometimes that same passion compels me to say things I normally wouldn't, and sometimes not say things I normally would. I'm loyal to a fault, and I pick a team and fight with it until we're all dead or I'm carrying the last man out. It's how I am. It's why I answer all the questions, from the good ones to the not so good ones. So don't let my passion and strong convictions cause any stress for you. This isn't a site squabble or anything like that at all. I think you guys got a raw deal and I did what I could, I felt in many ways like I'd failed you, but today I know better. So as my late granny used to say, "If I didn't care I wouldn't have said anything." She's right, I would have sat back and watched the show. But now as a "not official" forum we can voice an opinion that otherwise might not have been seen in an official forum. We can be more relaxed and enjoy ourselves. We can do things our way and the stop controls are off. That almost makes it worth all my complaining right there, doesn't it? So in the end I get to hang out with you all, I'm great. The loss, this time, isn't mine.

Look officer it was tired of swimming, it jumped onto my boat to take a nap and wouldn't wake up. Honest! When is the last time you heard the shark say that? He eats one of us and says, mmmm tastes like bacon wrapped chicken.

Could not find any. I looked. Tipari too, no go. ::sad, very sad::

RAF that's some funny stuff ... but yes we'll let you have a guess. ::goes off talking to himself:: OMG he said 2013, that RAF is a funny guy. 2013 HAHAHAHAHA oh my sides hurt. 2013

Adger1971 I removed your guess as it hasn't started yet. As soon as the forums return to normal I'll be making a separate thread there just for the contest. Good energy though, I like it.
-
I'm thinking for the trouble and just to show you I have no hard feelings, how about we do a contest. We won't start it until the forms are back online but here's what I'm thinking. WOFF will cost money I'm sure, dollar amount unknown. I'm going to start a pool to which I'll pitch in three copies of WOFF for the three closest people who guess how many days it will be until WOFF is released. Starting the day we announce it and running until the official release is made. (We will announce it's opening in a new thread when the forums return to normal.) You can post your submission once and you will not be allowed to change it. Closest three to the date by days short or long will win. It's like how many jelly beans in the jar WOFF style. Good luck! Why you're hanging around don't forget to check out our new badges. http://combatace.com/topic/78615-new-badges/

No this is a good thing. The community will remain, the files will remain, but there will be some changes now that OBD is no longer part of its everyday welfare. Simple enough, but requires some time to reorganize. See you on the backside.

RAF good to see you and everyone for that matter, reminds me of the days I enjoyed a stroll through the halls of OFF. I wish I had time this morning to respond to everyone personally because you deserve it, sadly I'm pressed for time. I appreciate hearing everyone's views, even the not so flattering ones, they are what make this community great even though keeping it together is a fight and half. All things worth having usually are. A well deserved toothy lashing. I deserved that in all honesty. However let me respond to some of this. When you've poured as much blood sweat and tears into a place, things are always personal, no matter how hard you try to separate them. Was my response a bit over the top, yes. Is it a big deal that Hasse informed Siggi that the "new official forums for OFF are now at the competition", no. I see these posts often and I usually ignore them it's simply business as usual. Doesn't mean I like them, but it's business as usual. Yesterday was just one of those days I guess. I work hard keeping things together for everyone including the OFF community, always have still do. It's no secret that Doug from SimHQ has had long standing issues with us, it's a mission a personal grudge to see us tarred, feathered and taken into town. Why? Because CombatACE was built by and on the separation of some of the lead guys from SimHQ, they were the inspiration that built this place. So is it personal when our traffic goes there? You bet. Yesterday as I mentioned was one of those blood sweat and tears days. I had just spent the last exhausting week pulling many 25 hour days upgrading our forum software and redoing the entire SF2 download section for the guys. A huge undertaking. I'm sitting back watching files get moved into the new library I just finished building and I just happened to see SimHQ Doug, "guod" and Polovski downloading files. 1500MB worth of files to be exact, at our expense. Does this sit well with me? No. Did Polovski share a Hello, did Doug say thanks? Not that I've seen. So yes we're the anti-christ when it comes to things site related, and yes we're the ones that caused so much of a problem that the Devs avoid us, but they have no problem using our services. Hence the insult. It's like two competing gas stations on opposite corners but one's been around longer and the other has a bathroom. So the folks stop at one to use the restroom and buy their gas at the other, then around lunch time the guys working for the other station across the street come over to use the facilities. I voice my concern about it, mention maybe I should close the bathroom, and I'm the asshole. Go figure. So did that six days a year ago matter? Probably not. Am I using my health situation as guilt, a resounding fuck no. It's what happened. If I wanted the sympathy because I was shallow I'd have shared the unpleasant side of things, but instead I shared the fact I survived it all. Is any of this a basis for a debate? Not really. You say I should take things head on, well I have, and I do. I've stated very clearly my intent, I want the community back together, it's time. Am I beating around the bush or putting on some half arsed email campaign? No, I'm keys down letting it fly right here in black and white. Like you I probably have no dog in this hunt either, I just think I do, when in reality he's back at the kennel shagging a beautiful red haired retriever. I'm in a hunt with an absent dog, such is life. Thank you for coming, thank you for keeping up with me, thank you for being part of what I love about this community. You can fault me for many things, you can disagree with every word I've written, and you can say I'm foolish for fighting the windmills. But not one of you will ever fault me for not caring enough to save this community or support it which to me is a far better crime than turning my back, extending a right handed central digit, and walking off. So that gentlemen is the picture of the gentle blonde tucked tightly behind the bezel of my RPM gauge. It's the reason I'm in the fight and the reason I'll be returning home from it. Be well and let's stay in touch.

Strange effect after upgrade
Erik replied to warthog64's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
System Restore back to before the change if all else fails. How annoying when upgrades go like this. I think we've all been there. -
I think you have the idea backwards, maybe? You are the mountain, the rock that ultimately will buy and fund the decisions. Mohammed is the one that has to bend and be flexible, anticipate the mountains moves so he may travel there safely where he will reward the mountain with his great creation and the mountain will release it's deepest closest secret, the pocket book. If Ford said hey we're only going to be making this puke green color car this year because that's the paint we want to buy and if you guys don't like it tough cookies. I think Ford would be having some massive inventory reduction sales come July and August and there will be a whole lot of people riding around in things other than Fords. If I can offer you nothing less, no home, no place to be, take away from here that you are a powerful commodity that businesses are lucky to have and should want to fight to earn their business. With that said ... your comments are welcome but I think I've beat the dead into this horse. Take care.
