Yes, that's exactly what I'm seeing in the logs. 2 counts sometimes 4 counts for the same file caused by the download manager.
-
Yup. Just to double check I ran a report and it shows 2 sometimes 4 downloads of the same file which is how the download managers are showing up in the logs. I'm pretty certain if you look at your download history here: My Downloads you'll see the same thing. Erik

I just finished upgrading the site software and one of the issues still being resolved is the download manager. Some of the issues being worked on include the use of download managers (accelerators). This applies to a lot of members who use Internet Explorer and have a download manager installed and probably don't even know it since it's a common add-on to IE. Specifically what happens is the browser opens multiple download requests for the same file and each request is logged as a downloaded file. All techie talk aside it's something I'm aware of and it's being worked on. It should also be mentioned that it's an issue taking high priority right now. Your input is important and we thank you for that. Erik

Among all the million changes happening today signature images are going to finally get under control. I don't mind seeing images in signatures but when they get to be the whole page that's too much. I did remove your signature and will be limiting the image size for all members to something reasonable. This isn't anything new it's been something I've been meaning to do for awhile now just never had any reason until today. Thanks for the help keeping our board reader friendly. Erik

FC I don't think you accounted for the refraction angle of light through a liquid medium and you didn't explain why UFOs don't leave condensation. Your explanation was excellent and your reference to tin foil hats is an amusing riot.

Over the past couple of days I've been implementing changes and additions to support the newest release of our forum software which is expected to be rolled out here toward the beginning of June. I apologize for the up and down time that we've experienced over the past 24 hours but it is a necessary evil when you're working with live production equipment. I for one am very proud of our overall uptime and aggregate traffic we provide to the community. Some of you may not realize that CombatACE as a whole has turned into quite a complete family of sites we're responsible for. We'd like to take just a brief moment to say how proud we are of everyone who contributes to this tremendous community. Thank you all. With the new release just around the corner for CombatACE I'd like to invite everyone to update their personal profile here. You'll be helping us out with testing if you can update your picture, avatar, and maybe add signature. Use this link to make your changes. EDIT MY PROFILE I'll make a post or blog about the new changes as they are rolled out to the community. The list is huge and the new features for everyone to use are vast. Look forward to that news as I make the changes to the site. Thanks for the help and support. Erik

Here's some information that might help. - I'm currently updating the site software, some of which is the download section of the site. One of the fixes involves download managers (aka download accelerators) and how they work on this site. I'll update everyone when the updates are complete and ready for use. - I see from your download log that for each file you're opening multiple download requests. This goes back to the above and the fixes. - You can temporarily resolve the issue by disabling the download manger in Internet Explorer or better yet download and install FireFox. FireFox is a more standards compliant browser and doesn't have any add-ons installed by default. I hope this helps. Erik

Mirage Factory F-18 HUD Change
Erik replied to crazygood150's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The Mirage Factory guys are here. The Column5.us forums are here. You probably posted this in the correct place but as mentioned maybe not in the best way. The modding community is cohesive and generally likes constructive involvement over straight up criticism. You have to remember that without them there wouldn't be a HUD to begin with regardless of it's current release condition. So dig in and welcome to the community. -
There's a double edged sword at play here. The governments want the income from tax revenues. State, Federal, FICA are still withheld from their paychecks, the catch is they never file a return to claim a refund. So why wouldn't you want to collect all that money knowing it's never going to be returned for overpayment. I agree with the idea of taking the economic advantage away from hiring non citizen workers. I believe a system should be in place to handle that but that requires more government spending to staff and monitor these things. That's exactly what we don't need is a bigger government. I also worry that if the fines and tracking of non citizen employment becomes too overbearing employers will start paying cash (if they don't do it already). This is also all based on the idea that a company is being ran by a citizen who fears the implications of fines and jail. Imagine for a second that this isn't the case and a majority of the businesses being operated aren't being done so legally to begin with. Real reform, real ideas, real solutions are the only hope to resolve this. Our elected officials don't have a clue, they only worry about being caught red handed by employing a gardener or house keeper that only has a small newspaper article of birth on some island as their basis to citizenship. Okay that was a stretch but the fact remains they only care about their immediate ramifications and not solving the problem in a realistic way that not only supports the US Citizens but emphasis their importance.

Jan Brewer is a windbag and a sellout! She is not fit to hold any public office which is sadly the case with 95% of our elected officials today. SB1070 has nothing to do with the above statement. If you want to be in this country or any country for that matter you must do it LEGALLY. If you are here or there under any other circumstances you're doing it illegally and breaking the law which speaks directly to the point. We and other countries are not found of harboring or providing for people who are knowingly breaking the law (read: criminals). I don't care how you cut this issue it boils down to illegal versus legal and both of those circumstances come with a defined set of expectations.

A debate and for that matter good discussion allows for open communication. To assume to know my position before I have voiced it or to say an abstract in train of thought (assumed) would be an illogical conclusion only depreciates the discussion.
