  1. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;req=ucp_files My Controls > "Download Manager" Manage Files is where the above link should take you. Once there you can click on the file you want to edit. It should take you to the actual file page. Look on the lower right section of that page and you'll see options one of which is "edit file". This basically takes you back to the upload page and allows you to re-upload (read: update or change) the file, description, screen shot, etc. This should be available to anyone, unless something changed. The delete files option which Dave is talking is no longer available but edit should still work. Erik
  2. Attack Riding Mule

Dang that's some serious business there and all that while wearing a saddle. I say hunter and photographer should saddle the dogs and give the mule the riffle.
  3. F16 vs. Tree

use the volume control on the video window or turn your speakers down
  4. Why do I find these posts so funny? I had to suspend CA's ability to serve web pages yesterday to get a security patch into PHP. We were down maybe a minute two at the most and even that got noticed. You guys have to remember that web servers are just machines with software on them and yes they require attention too. If you want something to brag about how about our server uptime for CA. Uptime is total elapsed time without a reboot on our machine: [root@combatace ~]# uptime 19:15:11 up 394 days, 47 min, 1 user, load average: 2.38, 2.54, 2.45 Don't try this at home. I say kudos to Don keeping things up and running and serving all those terrific mods over there at C5. Sometimes it's okay to let us know just how much you love us. :: CLICK HERE ::
  5. Have you tried using the admin tools or recovery tools built into windows? A lot of times log dumps can help you find the problem. Might try googling for setting up DrWatson or Setting up Error Log Dumps for your OS.
  6. Or better yet. Use our gallery to post your images. Posting images in the gallery doesn't eat up your attachment space. Sweet huh? To post your images in our gallery: > Click on "My Controls" located on the top right of the navigation bar above. > Scroll down left hand menu area until you see "Invision Gallery" > Click on "My Albums" under that heading. >> If you have an album already created then click on that album and add more images to your album -or- >> If no album exists you can >> Click "Create Album" and follow the instructions to make a new album of your own. Create a new album for your images to go into. (You can have multiple albums to organize your images into if you like.) :: CLICK HERE - LINK TO YOUR GALLERY ALBUM AREA - SHOULD WORK IF NOT FOLLOW THE ABOVE INSTRUCTIONS :: Click "Create Album" if no album exists. -or- Go to the gallery by clicking the "Gallery" Link on the very top menu bar above. You can insert images into most of the galleries there. Exeptions being the "Member Albums Gallery" (That's where your personal albums you can create above appear) and the staff galleries (That's where we place images we want to use for things like the calendars.) :: CLICK HERE - TO GO TO THE MEMBER GALLERY TO ADD IMAGES :: >> Click on the Gallery name and you'll see at the top right some buttons to add image, bulk import, or add media. - New Image Button = (Single image upload) - Bulk Import Button = (Multiple image upload) - New Media Button = (Movies and Media upload) - Slide Show Button = (Watch the images in the gallery in a slide slow - not for uploading) >>>> When you're done uploading your images you can view the image from the gallery you want to use in your post. On the right side of the image you'll see all the links you can use to share your images or link to them in your posts. Basically there are many options for storing all the things you want to share with the community. Let me know if you have any questions. Once you start using all the cool options here I think you'll find they really are pretty cool. :) Erik
  7. Well it's there for a reason ... let's figure 8.00MB per person registered to the site and you'll see just how big our HDDs would have to be. Basically the system is telling you have uploaded your max amount. To fix this: > Click "My Controls" above in the top navigation bar. > Scroll down the left menu of the page displayed until you see "Options" > Click "Manage Your Attachements" ::CLICK HERE - THIS LINK SHOULD WORK FOR EVERYONE BUT IF NOT FOLLOW THE ABOVE DIRECTION :: On the page that displays I recommend going to your oldest files and delete them from the system to free up personal space. Let me know how that works for you. Erik
  8. In the attachment section when you reply or create a topic it should tell you something like this. "Attachment space used 4.20MB of 5.00MB" What does yours say? Erik
  9. I feel your pain with pleasing people. I failed the community horribly at keeping the modding team together. For that I apologize. In the end there was nothing that could have prevented the departure. It's a sad reality that I quite frankly am embarassed about, but as you said, "Big Deal." Thanks for the updates to your files, they are greatly appreciated and well received. You rock!
  10. There's a fine line here that many get confused about. Debates and discussions about topics that do not violate our useage policy are acceptable platforms for tame or heated discussions. However, we fairly discourage discussions about politics, religion, personal attacks, and board flamming with objectionable material in general. Our forum rules are visible for all to read and review at any time. ::LINK TO FORUM RULES :: I do NOT consider that censorship by any definition. I do, however, believe it is participating in a responsible adult atmosphere which promotes positive interaction between the diverse and many backgrounds of people who visit our community. In general: Debate topics not people. Should you not agree with the above please feel free to start paying the bills around here and we'll consider your advice and direction. Thanks for understanding and helping to support a healthy vibrant community. Erik
  11. What Do You Look Like in Uniform Thread

HAHAHAHA - So I don't confuse myself then. You're done with the "pointy end toward front of aircraft and how to race the bomb lift trucks" training (2W131) which I ASSUMED he'll continue training in unless he cross trained out or his field specialty didn't require it. What I was wondering is if there were plans in training for nuclear munitions? You know down the road, future, sorta of what's your plans kind of thing? I'll keep it simple next time (for my sake). 'doh E
  12. What Do You Look Like in Uniform Thread

Congrats on your 2W131 award. Planning on training for your 2W231?
  13. Or more exact .... Our download system was recently updated which included new settings I was unaware of. Exactly the ability to limit simultaneous downloads. Before this setting was not an option it was hard coded to only allow one download at a time and left unconfigured it was allowing people with download accelerators to open hundreds of new simultaneous connections (read: users to MYSQL) to download segmented or multiple files. This overloaded MYSQL with users causing regular traffic to get MYSQL timeouts waiting on a new user to free itself up. Since I've now read the NEW manual the setting has been configured and we shouldn't see this happen again. I apologize it took me a few weeks to realize and attribute this to upgraded software. The server and MYSQL are running and have been configured for optimal use based on this site's demand. Let me know if you incur any more of these errors and thanks for letting me know about them. Erik
  14. Well I prefer using my copy of Visual Studio it has an installer built in (VSI). I believe there are free copies of VSI avaiable from MicroSoft and last I remember it was available on the net as well. I've also used InstallShield before which isn't that bad. What I'm not sure about is the usefulness of either given the type of data, where it's being exported to, if any registry entries need to be updated etc (read either might be overkill). I'd rely on those that actually have done releases of this type and magnitude (read: what's easiest for the enduser) before I rely on my knowledge of application deployment. SourceForge is a great resource if they have what you need or you're able to find someone in the community with the knowledge they can impart on you.
  15. Really doesn't matter, when you have a release date just give yourself enough time to either snail mail it or transfer it and we'll work something out. There's plenty of possibilities and I'm sure we can make your involvement as comfortable as possible. Dave hide the single bright light and iron chair bolted to the ground. Ed make sure the water board stuff you used last week is put away too. Harold you're in charge of party favors. Good luck and happy modding. Oh yeah if you're going for a single executable you may want to look into cab files for compression.
  16. Well that only raises only a thousand more questions, but I digress. As a gesture of good will it would be nice to see a collaboration, properly credited of course, and released on both sites. Sounds pretty fair if you ask me. :)
  17. Not to burst anyone's enthusiasm but why would you take all the work from here and publish it there? Little strange isn't it?
  18. Lethal Atmosphere

flatulents in the new frontier, now I've heard everything.
  19. Jedi Baseball

hahahaha ... not so sure I'd want to be the pitcher though ... oh oh oh it's right up the middle ... Yoda is looking to the bullpen to see who's he's got left. Score remains top of the 4th no outs, no runs, and one vaporized.
  20. We've gotten about all the mileage out this that I think we can. Mistakes were made, we informed everyone about our policy, and it's all water under the bridge. That said we'll close this thread down so we can get back to enjoying what we're here for. Erik Thompson CombatACE.com
  21. public appology

Craig you should be proud of the support you've received and have given with your latest release. With that I hope everything can return to a more normal state of alert. I hope closing this thread will allow us all to get back to what we enjoy, some fun.
  22. Yes - The Gallery supports video. Link to gallery above in menu and here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autocom=gallery
