  1. Erik's post in Automatic Renewal was marked as the answer
Take out a longer subscription. That's my advice and you can upgrade your account at any point you don't have to wait for renewal. I have auto-renew turned off because it's a pain to have to refund someone when they meant to turn it off and not get charged.
  2. Erik's post in Can I help the site providing saved downloads screenshots? was marked as the answer
Thank you for that information. It appears that only the small thumbnail of the file downloaded when you downloaded the page. This makes complete sense but what I'd be interested in is full size images. So I'm unsure how the files could be used as we'd need the full size images. It may turn out I have to enlist or pay some folks to go through each file without a screenshot and make new ones for each file.
  3. Erik's post in Erik. Will you take these IOUs? was marked as the answer
Sure, send them all over and I'll be happy to accept. Might even provide a review of the goods.
  4. Erik's post in A little rating question .... was marked as the answer
In order to rate files you first had to download them, or should I say rate them on the download screen. I've changed it so you can rate the files on both the file description page and the file download page. So this should be fixed now.

    Thanks.

  8. Erik's post in messaging system problem was marked as the answer
Put in a quick fix to remove the small pop-up PM window until a fix can be implemented by the developer. I have submitted a support ticket and I will advise when the original functionality has been returned.

    Thanks for reporting this.

  9. Erik's post in Download updates specifics since site upgrade? Please help was marked as the answer
That is correct. File notifications are sent every time a file is updated and with the rebuild of the file content a lot of them have been updated, but not changed.

I moved it but I can't promise it will stay the final word will have to come from MigBuster, as he may have had it there for a reason.

  11. Erik's post in Downloads/Uploads still offline? was marked as the answer
The files are all back online and functioning normally now. There should be no further interruptions with downloads. Some of the file authors have already started to fill in there screenshots which I greatly appreciate. I will get started on recovering the images some time next week after a short break from the file system.

Moderators and Authors can edit, change, move files as they wish from this point forward. Thank you for your help and patience.

I'm working on it. I don't have an ETA sorry, I've had to hand touch all 11,000+ files over the past couple of weeks and I'm finally down to a few hundred. I'll get there if it kills me, which is a bet you all may lose.

If that doesn't do it send me a PM with what you want it to be. You will only be changing your display name which is what we see on the boards, your log in name will always remain the same.

    Thanks.
  14. Erik's post in Personal Messenger Notifications was marked as the answer
This is done automatically by the system.

However each person has the option to choose when and how they want to receive notifications.
Those options are found in your settings here: http://combatace.com/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=core&area=notifications

This has to be done by the recipient because they are the ones being notified.

    Thanks.

    ...Done.

It was loaded by the system as a blacklisted IP which uses common RBLs to determine the networthiness of an IP. I don't think it's an overzealous way of doing things I think its a way to prevent spam.  I would suggest, since this is a common practice nowadays, to get the IP removed from these lists. You can use a service like mxtoolbox.com to check RBLs or google "search an IP on RBLs".  If it happens again I'll have to whitelist the IP, but since I was unclear who we are talking about you or your friend (your IP doesn't resolve to that IP) I didn't want to arbitrarily just grant carte blanche without knowing.

    Thanks.

Column5 will be making updates to his site to fix the remaining problems. Currently the site is up and running so stand bye for further updates from him. Thank you.

    http://combatace.com/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=core&area=signature

Use the template editor to add photos and such where you have your system specs now, that's your signature.
  19. Erik's post in reorganizing the SF2 Download section? was marked as the answer
The new SF2 file structure is built and ready for files to move in.

I have disabled uploading to the old directories so incoming SF2 files will have to be uploaded into the new structure. Files can still be downloaded from the old directories.

The old directories are easily identifiable by the words (To Be Filed) at the end.

All the files in the directories that say (To Be Filed) need to be moved to the new section. This can be done by editing the file directly and changing it's storage location > then saving it. The file, comments, images all move at the same time. Since I disabled uploading to the old directories you won't be able to put any files there by accident, saving time and confusion. Once all the (To Be Filed) directories are empty [[ say "0" in grey ]] then let me know and I will delete them as you tell me to.

I hope this is everything you wanted. Thanks to Neil it's pretty intense and well defined for ease of use.

We're going to call this thread "done". Have fun guys.

One of us needs sleep after a three day marathon to get this done.

  22. Erik's post in missing link? Donations was marked as the answer
I'm not sure I answered this although it's been resolved for awhile. Next to your forum display name, top right corner of all pages, click the drop down arrow there to show a menu. On this menu you will find the link you need.

    Sorry for the delayed response.
  23. Erik's post in Search engine bug or...? was marked as the answer
There was a problem with the way the "minus sign" ( - ) was being read into the query, it was for all purposes unrecognized.

That has been fixed and I am still working with the developers to fix or make the local searches more relevant. Until I'm satisfied with the local indexing of our site material (read: search results) I have implemented an internal way to use Google which is now part of the search box above.

I'll keep working on this until it's working as intended.

    - work in progress
  24. Erik's post in Return key doesn't work in forum posts was marked as the answer
The last bug on my list I just got done taking out, so the migration to the new software is complete and all these issues should be resolved.

If they are not, first remove your browser cache, restart your browser, reload the site. Your machine may have cached old files and this will resolve that.

If you still have an issue, please report them here.

    Thank you.

Oh and enjoy your new digs, this place has lots of cool functioning stuff. :)
