About DrAquidel

  1. EAW, buy GOG or Steam?

GoG The steam version is the GoG version re-badged. There is more information at the SimHQ EAW forum
  2. GOG (or Steam) EAW 1.2 or 1.28

The steam version is a re-badged GoG version. Some people who bought the GoG version wasted money buying the Steam version only to get what is effectively the same installation. The GoG version is basically EAW 1.2 revamped to run on more recent operating systems. There are no modifications to the game itself.
  3. EAW, blast from the past.

People are still enjoying UAW160 multiplayer games
  4. EAW, blast from the past.

Gepard Have you checked out the latest versions? I have it running in Windows 10. Check the EAW forum at SimHQ- there are several download links in the posts and you do not have to be a member (I am not).
  5. EAW, blast from the past.

The yellow values on the top right of the screen indicate that this was not the GoG or Steam release, but one of the 1.28 series released by what is known as "the code group".
  6. A Sincere Note of Thanks

My monitor has a refresh rate of 60 Hz, so it is running close to the max.

Apparently there is a special value of 17 that can be used for extra squads in 160, so I tried it. This is a screenshot from an intercept in a 190A running UAW160 in Windows 7 There were 20 FWs, 48 109Gs, 48 B17s and 64 P38s Plenty of planes, contrails and tracer, but a frame-rate of 59 FPS
  8. A Sincere Note of Thanks

Reporting back: So far so good with a 1943 RAF career No in-game CTDs or exploding planes but a CTD when loading the next mission. Running it again allowed me to continue the career. I do not know if this CTD (or ones that others have encountered) is related to the videos which appear in careers from time to time. AFAIK later versions of windows do not handle the "smacker" software.
  9. A Sincere Note of Thanks

I have downloaded just about everything that is available for EAW and I too would give a big thankyou for the work that has been done. Much of my stuff is ancient, and I have no idea who might have done that work :( With campaigns I am just testing a 160 set-up which has the default 1.2 target files and the default 1.2 plane-set. I did a check to make sure that it is the 1.2 target set and not the modified one with the allied carrier added to the target set. DrAq
  10. EAW coming to STEAM now.

The last system requirement is curious. Only LAN multiplayer
  11. New Planesets released for EAW 1.60

I copied a link from a post at SimHQ https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ijtdUrdPMA--SH_fXyjBZeVM6a5WEPoD/view?usp=sharing
  12. Some new things for EAW

Well I am not a member of SimHQ but it does not stop me from downloading stuff that looks interesting. I was able to use the second post as a tutorial in order to create my first mission. Having done it once I will not have to read the instructions again. The mission maker is a bit like the parameters setting for single missions with some selections being made on the map, and others elsewhere. Some of the settings in the mission maker and multiplayer parameters screen are not possible on the single mission parameters screen, but having learned how to set up EAW single missions it seemed easy to adapt. The script loader was straight-forward and easy to use, and what I did like was that my mission was saved as a text file, and I can reload it and fly it again. I have not tried yet, but I assume that I can easily move it to the Finland Summer folder and re-name it more appropriately.
  13. Some new things for EAW

I downloaded the installer and ran it in my "UAW160V5May10th2021" folder. Following the thread I was able to make and fly a new mission in the Finnish Summer theatre.
  14. Some new things for EAW

I only saw the post today, and it is new to me. In the post the software is described as new. Have you tried it?
  15. I read this thread at SimHQ and I think that I will check out the programs and see if I can fly some "host-only" games to get myself ready for real multiplayer. https://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4584394#Post4584394
