  2. India-Pakistan War 1965

    Version 1.0

    370 downloads

Please understand that due to game engine limitations this will not play out exactly like the war did historically, and due to my own personal time limitations, I was not able to do enough research to accurately name all of the ground units and some of the air-units. Also, I am in no way making any political statement regarding the war that occurred in 1965. To install: Merge the contents of the IndPak65 folder inside the .zip file into your preferred modfolder. It is recommended that you create a dedicated modfolder for all of your India/Pakistan SF2 needs, but if you know what you are doing, you can probably merge it all into a "SF2:Everything" install, but don't ask me how if you can't do it yourself. Combatace.com has all of the info you need. The files contain an edited _targets.ini file that only adds edited NumSquadrons= at a few airbases, especailly since most of the PAF squadrons were stationed at one airbase near Sarghoda. (changed Mushaf, Halwara and Pathankot airbases). Also included is a missing tile that goes with Stary's set for the terrain. tested with a full-merged install, both clean and in a heavily modded folder, You will certainly need SF2, SF2:Europe, SF2:Israel and Expansion 1 If anyone finds anything horribly wrong that I have missed, let me know ASAP, and I will fix it. You will need these user made files... http://combatace.com/files/file/13199-f-86-sabre-pack-pakistani-air-force/ http://combatace.com/files/file/11805-india-pakistan-terrain/ http://combatace.com/files/file/12506-indiapakistan-hi-res-tileset/ http://combatace.com/files/file/13142-india-pakistan-terrain-tweeks-pak/ ... and the following files will GREATLY enhance your experience, so get them as well: http://combatace.com/files/file/13089-f-104a-pakistani-af-and-ini-tweeks-pak/ http://combatace.com/files/file/13222-indian-air-force-dehavillandhal-vampire-fb52-for-sf2-full-merged/ http://combatace.com/files/file/13218-indian-air-force-hawker-hunter-f56-f56a-mod-for-sf2-full-merged/ http://combatace.com/files/file/9414-canberra-bi-mk58/ http://marcfighters.combatace.com/Aircrafts.htm http://combatace.com/files/file/13411-sf2-lockheed-f-80crf-80ct-33a-shooting-stars-pak-by-erikgen/ http://combatace.com/files/file/13458-t-33a-skin-pack/ I will give a hearty thank-you to: all of the great modders who created the above files, TK for staying with it for so long, everyone at CombatAce.com who has ever answered one of my many "How do I...?" and to Wrench for creating this beautiful terrain, releasing the PAF F-104A and the new PAF Sabre (which I fell in love with while testing this campaign), and allowing me to toss his targets.ini around like a cheap soda can.
  3. F-111_improvedskinpack

Why thank you for this update. One of my favorite aircraft just got a nice facelift!
  4. Looking forward to it! Always liked flying the Lightning for the same reason. Who'ld have thought running away could be satisfying? :)
  5. Ok. Nice pack to have regardless.
  6. Something's holding me back. Can't even get close to Mach 2 in the P or the PU (haven't tried others yet). Tried altitudes 15,000ft, 25,000ft, 35,000ft and 45,000ft. Any insights into this issue?
  7. Mirage IIIE Armée de l'Air

Great job! Thanks for putting this together.
  8. Mirage F-1C_73

    Outstanding!
  9. that's the way to do it. Tomcats and Phoenix missiles below the deck are pretty worthless when there are vampires inbound. Won my modded 1969 campaign in a Skyhawk. No Tomcats, but no Tu-22M either. Campaign structure was basically the same as stock.
  10. Due to hardware problems, and an insanely busy winter, I haven't played with SF2 since December. My machine is almost 5 years old, and I'm getting lock-ups and re-starts in all programs. Plus, some of my favorite campaigns' missions were just too burdensome for my computer, and I was getting a lot of slideshows. As far as gaming, I have been driving Assetto Corsa a bit, playing Terraria and KSP with my little boy. I plan to upgrade my computer as part of spring cleaning with new mobo, CPU, more RAM, and some of them new-fangled hybrid and SSD hard drives. My mod folders are already backed up and waiting. Looking forward to checking out some of the great new mods yall have been working on. Keep up the good work! Arthur
  11. File Name: Libyan Egyptian Conflict Escalation 1977 File Submitter: arthur666 File Submitted: 29 November 2013 File Category: User Made Campaigns Escalation of Libyan/Egyptian Conflict: In July of 1977, a series of border skirmishes between the neighboring countries escalates into a full blown conflict. After a botched attempt at a peace agreement, Libya invades Egypt and the Arab. The rest of the Arab world, urging for peace, vows to stay out of the conflict while the Soviet Union sends military aid to Libyan and the United States vows to support Egypt as well as equiping its new regional ally with advanced F-4E fighters. This is a "what if?" campaign. Lots of good planes on both sides. Also, lots of similar types on both sides, which makes for some interesting Air to Air engagements. Readme: Installation: Take the LE77 folder out of the zipped folder. Drop it into your Strikefighters2/CAMPAIGNS folder of choice. Install any suggested addons. Have fun. You will need: StrikeFighters2 Strikefighters2Israel Wrench's Easter med terrain. -> http://combatace.com/files/file/12989-eastern-mediterranean-terrain-for-sf2/ You will want: DLC AI Packs 1 and 2 -> https://store.thirdwire.com/store_dlc.htm ...and make them flyable. Stary has awesome new MiG-19 pits, there are MiG-21 pits out there, and the MirageIIIO pit works well for the radar equipped Mirage and the Nesher/Mirage5BA pit for the others. Thanks to Wrench for the very nice terrain. Thanks to those who have worked tirelessly on making stock AI planes flyable with awesome new pits. Thanks to CombatAce.com for being the best place for all your flight sim needs! Click here to download this file
  12. Hey Emp_P , and thanks. Here is Wrench's famous post on making AI planes flyable: http://combatace.com/topic/20789-how-to-make-ai-planes-flyable/ Everything is ready to go in the campaign, so adding cockpits should make the planes show up as flyable. Try the MiG-19 and MiG-21MF. There are pits available in the SF2 and SF1 download sections. I believe the Foxbat didn't enter Libyan service until 1980 or later, or I would have included it. My computer with SF2 on it has not been online in over a month (we moved), but I will get 1.1 up soon as I can with a few minor changes regarding Libyan MiG-17 etc. and an extra surprise ;) Question: Would there have been F-5's flying in Libya during this time period?
  13. Iranian F-14's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BJ1cdMHzKM Some amazing first-hand accounts. Just ignore the cheesy CGI that shows a MiG-31 instead of a MiG-25.
  14. I don't think the mobile crowd would tolerate realistic missile reliability. One set of two misses with 2 missiles would cause most "reasonable" people to never play again, I suspect. Frustration is part of the fun? We are a twisted bunch. ;)
  15. Thanks for the links, Paulo! I will tweak it some more and do ver. 1.1 , but for now my computer is going into storage. We're moving , and I wanted to go ahead and get this campaign out there. Wikipedia had the MiG-17 listed in service with Libya at some point, but we all know that Wikipedia's accuracy is dubious at best. As for the MiG-19, well, I often work on these things late at night, and late at night I also spend some quality time with the gentleman pictured in my little icon over there on the left. http://www.northcoastbrewing.com/beer-rasputin.htm
