  2. catapults on cruisers? not since WWII. The CG and BB I sailed on for 2 years didn't have any catapults. I mean a catapult block in the data.ini. The game recognizes that as where to put the player aircraft, and like on the LHA-1, it can even be modded to fire up. Just wondering, in the real world, if the carrier was facing the right direction into the wind (that's what I meant), where would you aim? In the direction of the lines painted on the deck? Did you keep the EA-3, or just toss it overboard? I can't imagine how much it would cost to fix damage like that... Sorry Capun, I didn't see it.

  4. Sorry to push this off topic a little... The CVAN-65 should have all the textures, try downloading again. (I've noticed it's gone at Capun's site, but still available here. The one here works fine for me.) Cruisers should be landable if they have catapults, and if the LOD is designed to have a helo on it. I think it needs a collision mesh, but I'm not a 3D modeler. AFAIK, the only landable cruisers is the helo landable version of the Perry. I like to line up with the "meatball" (Improved Fresnel Lens Optical Landing System), the set of lights that (on real carriers) guide the aircraft down. Unfortunatley, this isn't modeled. I'm not sure if this is realistic or not, since the carrier's angle is wrong during landing. I'd also like to know where the notch is. As for the pic... Ouch. Did it damage the carrier at all?

  7. Iran situation

    In that video that they released, I think the sailors themselves said that they were in Iranian waters, but they probably were forced to say that. Most of the accounts I've seen say that it's international waters. Bombing the country won't do much help. Look at Vietnam (I hope it's not too OT or biased), in the Gulf of Tokin incident, the Maddox was supposed to be in international waters, yet the North Vietnamese torpeodoed us. And we bombed them. The funny thing is that (from what I've seen) the British don't seem that conserned, while the U.N. is "gravley concerned" about the incident. The whole thing is messed up, if you ask me... My 2 cents. Hope they all come back, unharmed.

  9. I think they're the same, just the MiG-15 pack has more skins. There is no dedicated MiG-15 pit.
  10. I'd recommend having two different installs, 1 of YAP, and another of NF, since the weapons might overwrite each other.
  11. It shouldn't by default, did you install a mod? Go into the MiG-21MF_Data.ini and look for the Canopy block. It should say: Highliftdevice=TRUE Change it to false, and I think you're all set! What do you mean by city structure? Different buildings? There isn't a mod for that right now. I think Polak is working on it though, look in the TW forum.
  12. Looks good! If I may make a suggestion, I like the autumn leaves, but they sort of cover the bulidings kill count, so maybe not so many would be better. Also, does the pilot photo have to be cropped? Or does the game automatically cover it with the screen. You work is always top-notch!

  19. Some of the SAMs might use the regular missilefireeffect. I would think that the in flight effect would include the SAM trail. I'm not sure. I'll have to try it out.

Not sure about the Soviet NATO thing.
  21. Most of the NATO non-flyable units are stuck in '62. And some of the MiGs.
  22. Have you tried FSSC? http://www.fssc.avsim.net/index.html It is for MSFS, but Polak has a .scn to .ini converter. I'm fiddling around with it now, it's a lot easier.   23. You could create a single mission and make a lot of traffic there along with static aircraft. It would take a long time, but it could be done. As for campaigns, it wouldn't hurt to try to replace the transport with an airliner, friendly or enemy. I've never seen planes intercept transports in campaigns (besides me ).
