  1. I think that's really the problem... When you look at them from the right angle and lighting conditions, especially in close ups look awesome. On the other hand when looked from some distance and not under "sweet spot" lighting, they look kind of weird, like metallic or something...

  3. Fantastic shots, Stary! Don't get me wrong but I think that some of the clouds look, to me at least, kind of weird (I mean not so natural)...
  4. Γεια σου φίλε! In your gallery, if you right click on an image, there are various image size link options. Mandatory screen:
  5. Anyone Heard From Typhoon?

    Great news! Be strong Typhoon!
  6. Fantastic walk around...so many details revealed. A real treat for scale modellers!
  7. Way too cool! Never seen that one before!
  8. Χρόνια Πολλά, με υγεία και σε σας κύριε Νίκο! Best wishes to you too, Mr. Nick!
  9. Palestine WIP

Hey, Geezer you have done a remarkable work on these planes the Martinsyde looks terrific! May I make a couple of comments suggestions on the Albatros? The Albatri serving in the Palestine were sporting double radiators, could an extra one be added? Also you are using a four colour lozenge patern on the wings, that was never used by the type. The five colour one is the correct choice. One more detail is that the reinforcing linnen ribbons on the wings and tailplane, were not used on the control surfaces (ailerons, elevator)
  10. Great looking skins Centurion! Only objection the roundels that look to me, too chrome "decaly", not real part of the camo... The flag on the vertical stabilizer looks a lot better, BTW. Is it possible, the national markings be part of the actual skin texture and not decals, in the final version?
  11. I haven't seen this article , very interesting... but I remember the investigation (parts identification) in the Aerodrome a while ago. Thanks for posting, Shiloh!
  12. The Quirky Quiz

Wild guess: Maurice Jean Paul Boyau The 90 should be a Nieuport. The meaning of numbers is confirmed kills per Hp power of plane flown. He had 35 victories, some of them were shared though... http://www.theaerodrome.com/aces/france/boyau.php PS. If I'm right this should be a shared kill with HPW; his guess gave me the idea how to figure it out.

Is it the: Curtiss-Sperry Flying Bomb? Engine: Curtiss OX-5 piston engine; 74 kW (100 hp)
  14. WOW!

I have it working and it's fantastic, but only via my old SweetFX JSGME Mod, as described above... It refuses to work standalone...(WOFF.exe doesn't run at all...go figure) BTW, SweetFX are not enabled in my case because the configuration file has NoMultisampling=0 by default. Needs to be NoMultisampling=1 for SweetFX to work.
  15. WOW!

I have a strange behaviour with the Mod myself. I can't get it to work (WOFF actually) standalone... WOFF denies to initiate with the Mod enabled (JSGME). I have installed the later version of DirectX as suggested by AnKor. The weird thing is that when I put the files in an older version of the Mod I had along with SweetFX, overwriting the older files, it works!
  16. WOFF FM Thread

So is it safe to use your wing rudder moddifications (corrections) in other models as well (D.V early and uprated)? Or the wing strenght is a factor to be considered? (D.V more vulnerable than D.Va) I have flown a few fights and I like the result (the plane seems more flyable)... Sometimes there are obvious mistakes like the one you described above (typo) or the wrong weights used in Albatrosse, deriving from older versions of OFF and being perpetually repeated. I hope you'll expand your research-fine tunning to other planes too.
  17. WOFF FM Thread

Guys, I'm sorry again... I explored the files I uploaded (with gavagai's Mod) and the file structure was not correct to be used via JSGME. I'm afraid neither Bucksnort's (Hellshade's D.V FM) is. There is folder missing (OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields)...so JSGME is not installing the FMs in the right place. Meaning I was having a placebo effect all night yesterday, trying to test, at last, gavagai's FM... I have also updated my original post... Alb D.Va 680kg 190hp_gavagai.7z
  18. WOFF FM Thread

Well, he was reffering to me, actually... I have his Mod for quite some time now, but haven't been able to test it, yet. I tried to run WOFF after upgrading to W 8.1 and after installing the latest video drivers, but I'm getting too low FPS to enjoy anything. I have to reset everything, but I don't remember the NVidia inspector settings I've been using... I guess I have to dig the graphics threads allover again!
  19. WOFF FM Thread

I haven't flown any sim for some time now...
  20. WOFF FM Thread

You can open them with Notepad. gavagai, has made a deeper investigation of WOFF FMs. in RoF Forum he claimed that (RoF feel) can be achieved at some point and noticed that the FMs in WOFF were deliberately made "easy". It would have been a huge task though...
  21. WOFF FM Thread

ERRATUM! Please, download gavagai's FM tweak again, I have revised the file due to folder naming error (D.V instead of D.Va) if you got the original file it will change the D.V FM... Sorry!
  22. WOFF FM Thread

I said that the upgraded engines to D.IIIau didn't add any weight, not that any Albatros was ever delivered from factory with such engine.
  23. WOFF FM Thread

It seems from the net weight of the D.Va in WOFF that the chose to portray the OAW variant. 600 of them were made from Sept/Oct '17. The had additional lower wing reinforcements that raised their net weight to 717 kg. To counter that they had to reduce the fuel tank capacity by 15kg. They should have slightly reduced range, is it the case in WOFF? As Olham noted above, the greater number of D.Va-s were made by Johannisthal (1062) had net weight of 680kg. The engines upgraded to Mercedes D.III aü (the ü was for "über", meaning "overcompressed") did not add any weight to the plane so no change expected to the weights table. I was refering to the historical horsepower of the D.V (Mercedes D.III engine) not the FM...
  24. WOFF FM Thread

Jim was trying to make a raw example... It is my feeling that every D.V left the factory with the 620kg/170 hp specs, marked in 2 row weights table on the port fuselage. Here is another pic that narrows down Jim's count more: Albatros D.V 4640/17 (the last one left the factory being D.4702/17) The words "Zulassige Belastung" (denoting a 2 row table) partialy and barely visible between the anemometer and the V strut. The D.V's that were retrofitted with the D.Va improvements were given new weights tables ala D.Va style (3 row) Here is Ernst Udet's D.4476/17 with the old style two row weights table scrubbed off... in order to receive a new revised one, due to uprate? Here is an older D.2359/17, captured in March 1918, with a later style 3 row weights table and retrofited braces. IMHO, the introduction of D.V uprated in WOFF is not quite historical, souldn't be before October November '17.
