Maybe you are already aware and that is why you did this skin. But just in case you weren't aware:
The F-16 Viper Demonstration Team Unveils New Retro 50th Anniversary Paint Scheme - The AviationistIt looks great, but the radome is still painted in the stock gray colors.

There are two skins I like to use when I am flying F-16s: The Thunderbirds and this YF-16A prototype scheme. I can't decide which one I like better. But the first time I ever saw an F-16 was an advertisement for a Monogram model of the prototype in comic books. So, I am partial to the prototype paint scheme. Great job adding it to the SF F-16.
In the same way, I like to fly F-15s in either the Streak Eagle scheme or air superiority blue, as those were the two schemes all of the models on store shelves originally had. The day I got my first F-4E model, my brother got an F-15A model in air superiority blue, so that is why I am partial to that scheme.-

Another great F-5 release. I only wish I had the F-5C in DCS World.

Great work! Glad to see you are still working on the F-5 series for SF2.

For some reason I have always loved Voodoos. Great work!

I have a 1/48 model of this aircraft hanging from my ceiling. I would never have expected to see it in a flight sim!

The Century series in general and the Voodoo in particular are some of the best reasons to keep flying the SF series. Nice work updating one of my all-time favorites!

I am a huge fan of the AIM-7 and love the 6 missile loadout. I was disappointed to find that the USAF didn't retain that capability and the Navy notoriously found the AIM-9 to be the better weapon for their situation where the reliability was almost nil after any amount of captive flights given the hard landings.

Let me commend you for still working on updating these aircraft so many years after the original release. I don't recall my source(s), but from memory I seem to recall that aside from the original blocks of F-4Bs, no F-4 versions were actually wired to carry AIM-7s on the wing pylons. I am fairly certain the F-4J did not have that capability. I am pretty sure the F-4B lost that ability at some time in its life... maybe by the time it became the F-4N? I think the capability was lost when wiring and other things were changed to support later AIM-9 variants (different seeker cooling) and advanced air-to-ground stores. Photos of F-4s armed with 6 x AIM-7s are pretty rare.

Thank you for this skin :) I did see the comment that you had dedicated to me :)

The F-15 as I remember it when I first saw it on the shelf of a Kmart model airplane section, which my brother chose while I picked the F-4E as presents from my grandfather. I was in the 2nd grade (1975-76 school year). Note the square wingtips of the prototype:

The Eagle the way she should look: with turkey feathers and the original compass ghost gray scheme :) The only paint schemes I like better are the specail "Streak Eagle" no-paint scheme and the original air superiority blue.

Ack! I am interested in recreating the USS Lake Champlain (CV-39) as she appeared in Korea. But she had the SCB-27 conversion and in photos of her in Korea, the 5-inch gun turrets are gone.
Per this photo:

Somehow I never added this to my SF2 KAW install. Problem fixed :)

Glass nosed B-25s are my favorite :)

Thanks for the effort. Nice addition to my SF2NA install that is supposed to have any and all SF2 compatible aircraft. My preference is for the Foxbat-A, as this was the boogey man that kept the money flowing to the F-15 program and was the star of the defection to Japan.

I don't know which is nicer, the terrain or the aircraft? The SF series retains the most unique and diverse plane set in any combat flight sim ever released and short of sims that model the entire globe, it has quite the choice of terrain as well.

A 2-seat F-8 could have led to a 2-seat XF8U-3, which in an alternate reality would have beat out the F-4 as the Navy's premier fleet defense fighter. I don't know how the 2nd seat would have degraded XF8U-3 performance, but a simple weight adjustment based on the change in weight from the single seat F-8 to the 2-seat F-8 would be close enough.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vought_XF8U-3_Crusader_III
The wiki has the shortest but most honest assessment of the differences between the F-4 and XF8U-3 I have ever seen.

As usual, outstanding job. I particularly love the tiger heads on the nose. I had seen those markings in a magazine around 1991 and had done a watercolor of that tiger head.

Very nice!

F2H is for FSX and may include SF files.
SF standalone should be cheaper, but only has the SF files.
I have FSX, but only wanted the combat capable SF version, so I got the cheaper stand alone version a very long time ago.

Wrench, I am sorry to put you to so much trouble. You have been working far too hard for far too long on this sim!

DRV 2.0
in Full Terrains
Posted · Edited by streakeagle
The original DRV was overshadowed by the release of Wings Over Vietnam.
Prior to that happening, that was the only map I was using with SFP1.
This post brought back so many great memories of creating historical missions while flying the free F-105D Thunderchief and A-1H Skyraider mods.
I wish TK would have adapted the SF2 series to Windows 10 with full VR support, but he never even finished/released the promised Windows 10 compatibility version.
Fortunately for me, DCS is close to matching everything I loved about the SF series while providing excellent implementations of the features most requested but never added to SF2.
