  1. Glide wrappers

Hi Mike. It's a mixed bag really. The good news is that if you head to SimHQ and upgrade to 1.28b you will get a version which does not 7217 http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2881265/Help_Blank_Screen_after_openin.html#Post2881265 Note some of the problems, check the advice given, but use the links in the signature below any of my posts. The bad news is that although the 7217 is fixed you may get screen tearing on the mainscreen, making selection impossible. Please try it anyway, and let us know how you go. We have another remedy, with an exe using 1024 x 768 screens which fixed the old garbled map screen problem, and in some cases the screen tearing problem. In other cases the screen tearing is reduced, but it is still there. Jel
  2. Many of the code development team have been testing the multiplayer aspects of out 1.28 series of exes online at GameRanger GameRanger Site It is similar to the Zone for those of you old enough to remember We are looking forward to some serious online fun when we release 1.28C and South Pacific Airwar, which is scheduled to go out on 26th October. 3. 1.28 exe campaigns?

I'll explain why there are problems, and what is currently happening. 1.28B uses a larger "runways.dat" file, and up to 256 TMods (0-255) which need a corresponding "tartypes.str" file. This causes problems with older campaigns, but I got DAW working well with 1.28B by replacing some files with 1.28B compatible versions. Using the same method I also have SAW and Midway running with 1.28B too. However, the release of 1.28C with SPAW is imminent, and changes in 1.28C have made me adjust the DAW and SAW set-up to work with it. 1.28C is far more flexible and tidy than any previous version. It can read "CDF.set" files which list the pathnames of the "CDF" files to use. These can have custom names like "DAW3d.cdf" which is used in place of the default "3d.cdf" file. It can also read "Dir.set" files which lists folders and subfolders to use. Here is my EAW folder: Here's the SAW128CDirSet folder: Here's the SAW CDFs folder: That might give you an idea of how this is going to work with 1.28C It will be out very soon, and I will be making older campaigns available for download in the 1.28C format. If you are absolutely desperate I could send you some files to try with your existing DAW installation. If you are using the OAW128 filemanager it will make it much easier to pack something for you- please let me know. Jel
  4. I'm just looking at the code which fixed the briefing screen map, and on some cards the 7217 error. It is not particularly flexible. The old code was locked into 640x480, and the new into 1024x768. What I would like to do is to have both, with the routines which run based on a setting in the "eaw.ini" file. I have already made the ini setting, and now its a matter of sifting through Crashin' Jack's code. ;) Jel
  5. Copy of a post at SimHQ- we just want to spread the good news! Using the FEOL setup with the Solomons terrain and the WW2 Pacific planes loaded Sydbod and I flew a co-op mission using his TS server, and Hamachi (as we both have XP). We flew Beaufighters, intercepting Betties escorted by zeros. Yes- we got jammed guns, but we could unjam them LOL! ....and we did rather well - hard settings except for HUD display: Yes folks it is possible. I was in Adelaide and Sydbod in Sydney. Jel
  6. File Name: OLWW2basic File Submitter: Jel File Submitted: 3 Nov 2006 File Category: SF Missions/Campaigns I have zipped my "~Fileman" folder that I am using to test the Online WW2 stuff. All credit to the makers of the Darwin East-Timor terrain, the four "Solomons" aircraft and the other addons that I have included. The content has been kept to a minimum for the purpose of the experiment. It has been uploaded so that people who want to join the WW2 Online experiment can use the same file-set. It is intended for use with my Strike Fighters Manager Version 8. ;) Jel Click here to download this file

  8. Please let me know if there are any problems, or of any other features that you might like to be included. Also, please let me know if it is able to be used with WoV or WoE as I do not have these sims right now. Jel
  9. Finally I have cracked the multiplayer problem and have it working more or less as I want it to (for now). I am testing it on my LAN, and I can either use the multiplayer button in the exe, or use the batch files and the LAN IP of the host PC to simulate a 'net game. :) I have had a lot of fun with a little package containing the Darwin Terrain and a few WW2 Pacific planes. However, there is one bug, and I wonder if other multiplayer pilots also experience this. My other PC was flying a Betty on automatic pilot, escorted by Zeros. I intercepted in a Corsair, and sent my AI planes back to base. Now, it seems that as soon as I made a kill the other PC dropped out. This seems to happen irrespective of whether or not the kill was my other PC's autopiloted aircraft, or one of the others in the flight. It also happened if one of my AIs got in before me and shot down a plane- that's why I sent them home. Has anyone else experienced dropouts of this sort? It happens with other planes too, so it is not plane related. I am putting together some "packages" with borrowed terrains and "aircraft" (a big thankyou to the community for creating them!), so that a few of us old EAWers can try SFP1 online with identical set-ups. My worry is that these dropouts will also occur online, as it it would be most disappointing. ;) Jel
  10. Exactly which files are needed for mupltiplayer Strike Fighters? I have a filemanager which allows me to set up many different combinations. If I have the "default" game loaded I can host multiplayer, and get a selection screen for aircraft etc. If I have a different scnario loaded such as WW2 Pacific or BoB the game crashes during the hosting process before this selection screen appears. Are there files in the "Terrain"/"Missions"/"Aircraft" folders that need to be present (and correct). Currently I am trying to get the game to run with a selected scenario on my LAN with both PCs hving identical set-ups. However, if I do not use the stock set-up then all I get is a CTD during the "hosting" process. If I can crack this problem then hopefully it could be organised that we fly any selected set-up (with all players having the same) at Hyperlobby. ;) Jel
