Well Doggies. Every Day, with home fries, chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy. Ooohh WEE! The person below me sings the lumberjack song in bars and pubs. CL

Bummer! Most folks I know just get groggy and dizzy. A P-3 friend of mine lost his flight status for airsickness and once my second crewmen puked on our passenger's sea bags. He blamed his bag lunch and I.... ah consuled him harshly (doing my best to not end up ROTD) on inspecting any food before consumption. Being a Naval Aircrewmen is a special gig. Don't discount regular Navy too. I don't know how the RN works, but in the USN there was no shortage of ex roofrats and black shoe sailors that later wore Naval aircrewman wings. There where officer programs for enlisteds too. More then once I've asked an NFO why he also had enlisted dolphins on his uniform. If your timeline is stressed just getting aboard may be your answer. Many times in the USN I thought being a Sonar man or Torpedoman on a sub or spruance destroyer would be a better match for my temperment. I read on another post that the RAN is recruiting foriegn nationals for thier military. CL

Brigadier Admiral? The US used to call them Commodores. CL -
He was the hollywood stuntman that manned the robot in the old Lost in Space TV series. He lost his San Fernando home last November to a pretty wicked wildfire. I work in alot of wide open areas and quite frequently expect to see Robot, Will Robinson, and Dr Smith tooling around. CL

Perhaps not in order. Adjust specific gravity to OAT. Consume in quart bottles if available. Sierra Nevada pale Ale. Liberty Ale( Anchor Brewery). Steinlager. Anchor Porter. Sam Adams. Pilsner Urquell. Nukes are fine but not kind to me the next morning. CL

I was going to call Bravo Sierra on this one and flame folks that don't even post here. Yup this is very relevent to our group here. My Pop, Papa Lima, Flew DC-8s to Saigon when he wasn't driving P-2Vs. During the Korean War the, ah, adverseries where quite adept at intercepting and splashing non combat type aircraft. Way More thoughts but.... I have a house by plant 42. There is always a KC-135 pounding the pattern there. That bird looks and sounds sexy. CL -
Tragic. Military Aviation is safer then driving to work or even crossing the street as a pedestrian. God be kind to thier families please.

Sugar! So the stealth variable wing turbo skyraider and amphibious B-66 destroyer are a no go then? Lovely! CL -
There are some things we can't change, fix, or effect in any way no matter how good, slick, or brilliant we are. Or how good looking too. In my mind she failed the selection process and there is an open billet with gobs of quality candidates in line. CL

Wow! Bitchin. My Migs? What Migs? story was more like my first almost scrape. Platform:SH-3H Seaking Mission: Plane Guard Secondary: Take pictures of carrier battle group. Weapons: Good guess. Canon AE-1 Spooling up on spot 3 a bunch of Intel types come up to our Helo. Guy in khakis talks to pilots. The usual photo guys come up to me with this big case. Open it up. 90 mm camera, Got quick brief on how to use it. Sierra! If I stick this out the cargo door and point it at something I might start another war. This thing looks as dangerous as what the fast movers on alert bravo have strapped on thier hardpoints. Updated Mission: Go feet dry and take pictures of,...ah, stuff. It was pretty fun at first. Indiginious people running about in panic to get arms, or man a weapon system that is not kind to aircraft. Domestic animals running about. Never heard what we were suppose take a picture of. I did snap off a couple of shots. Intel types where happy. We went back to the carrier. Hell bent to leather terrain masking until we were feet wet. I was only on ICS so I didn't hear what was up but these 2 helo drivers where really working the helo hard and they where usually pretty easy and mello on our SeaPigs. I could tell thier stress level was off the scale. I saw the mig-21 that was working us when we were going thru our pre landing check list. Good thread Typhoid. I was going to start a Mig? What Mig? thread but you beat me to it. CL -
Wow I think Y'all have me beat. I still get to listen to Laika and the Cosmonauts. Mrs CL is from Long Island NY. Do they have any good mexican resteraunts there? Thats what keeps me west. I'm afraid to visit Ireland. I would probably want to stay. Arghh! That mexican resteraunt thing again. CL

Some good choices here. I say military. Navy? Listen to Jug and Fast Cargo. My Dad always told me if I got bad grades all I would able to do was be An enlisted naval aircrewmen or work for the us forest service. I did get good grades. No college degree tho. My best success in life was doing the 2 jobs my dad said I would have if I was a failure. If you can get in any military academy, GO. All branches have a flight program. Airline pilots, cops, and city firefighters don't always get to work for the departement or company that was thier first choice. All the folks I know who did accept thier second and even third choice had / have had great satisfaction and successful carreers. Except for what I said here, take the advice of those who are commissioned officers in the military. Good Luck Tiger! CL
