  1. Direct X

Install the latest version of DirectX 9.0c...it doesn't conflict with DirectX 11 and will be detected by CFS3/OFF as the appropriate DirectX needed. DirectX 10 and 11 don't have legacy code from what I understand (ie older games won't be able to use them). FC
  2. Iron Man on the bus in the U.K

How much money and time have you invested in OFF or in posting on these boards? A hobby by its very definition does not have to be logical, cost effective, or even reasonably answer the question why. FC
  3. This has been brought up before. As far as I know, NONE of the current F-105 models have the internal bomb bay available to use. It would require a whole new model. FC
  4. Campaign or create a single mission using KMD (search for the term)...you can also Save campaign missions and then edit them with your favorite text editor. FC
  5. Iron Man on the bus in the U.K

    Wow...those look really good! FC
  6. First attempt at a high alt/high speed nuke drop in the B-70A...not a bad score for eyeballing it... Maybe McNamara was right...run Forrest run! Swing and a miss...thank God it wasn't nuke tipped... FC
  7. No...air refueling is not implemented in this series. There are workarounds, but they are not true air refueling missions. FC
  8. You still working on this LL? I've been finally working on the B-70 FM using the knowledge I gained working on the B-1B FM...the problem is I'm running into the borders on the normal maps. I've hit 3 of the 4 'edges' on the Desert terrain in the same flight within a few minutes (admittedly, that's at 8x speed, but still...). Anyway, I think I need a bigger playground... FC
  9. How Long is Two Weeks?

'Two weeks'....it's all relative... Two weeks at .0c is two weeks...but two weeks at .99c...is a LONG time... And since all observers are relative to each other... FC
  10. Dels is a signatory to the Freeware Accords. Give him proper credit is all that is required...in fact I believe he made the C-130 cockpit specifically in a way to be able to insert it in other aircraft. FC
  11. The worst movie ever

Lexx, Gotta disagree...there is plenty of craptastic in the old films too. One only has to watch 'Mystery Science Theater 3000' to know that. FC
  12. You got that right brother. I'm a firm believer in: 1) Release everything you legally can with the mod (that's why most aircraft/mods I release have their full effects, weapons, objects included) 2) Make the installation as simple as possible 3) Make the instructions as easy to read as possible 4) Test the installation yourself first before releasing...I've caught several glitches that way It's more work on my end, but it results in mods that people want to use and separates true quality verses just 'good enough'. ktickner6767, if you want to see how it's done, download my Classified Mission Mod. It's small, simple, fun and if it takes more than 5 minutes to get up and running, I'll be very surprised. It's so simple, a Mac user could do it. FC
  13. Nope...do not copy the SF2:I folder. It's simple as simple gets...you copy 2 files (both located in the Strike Fighters 2 directory): 1) StrikeFighters2 (xxxx).exe 2) StrikeFighters2 (xxxx).ini Where (xxxx) is the specific sim (Europe, Israel, Vietnam). Hold down the ctrl key, use the mouse to select both files and drag into the same directory (ie make a copy). Then rename both of the new files to what you want...but they MUST have the same name (ie War For Israel.exe and War For Israel.ini as an example). Then, run the new exe ONCE...it will create a new Mod directory with the name of the exe. The new mod directory (in Vista or Win7) will be located by default in: "X":\Users\"UserName"\Saved Games\ThirdWire\"New Mod Folder" Where "X" is your root drive (usually C), "UserName" is the name you use for your login, and "New Mod Folder" is the name of the folder that was just created and should match the name of the exe and ini file you named. There ya go...it should now work properly when you start up your new mod. FC
  14. F-22 aircraft overdue in reporting

Our standard ELTs transmit on 243.0 as well. FC
  15. Battle: Los Angeles

    Read Footfall. FC
  16. Battle: Los Angeles

    Mmmm....Project Thor. Flying crowbars...at Mach 25... FC
  17. There are several techniques. One of the best is to assign it as a lift device that is automatically activated at speed. Use the KC-135A included in NatoFighters as a reference. FC
  18. swambast, From us here at CA, our sincere thanks! FC
  19. air show china 2010

Nesher, I was thinking the same thing...it kind of reminds me of the F-16s wings, with the F-20s fuselage, and a Gripen's nose area. Before any fanboys get in an uproar, I'm not implying anything, it would take more work to do such a thing then to just scratch build one...similar missions/requirements can sometimes tend to dictate similar designs. FC
  20. Battle: Los Angeles

The problem is most alien invasion movies suck because if you apply ANY sort of real science the plot holes are bigger than the Giant Red Spot on Jupiter. Now if they made a movie (you'd need a mini-series really) on Footfall...that would rock! FC
  21. Gepard, Thanks for the clarification...just needed to be sure. FC
  22. Not sure why it does that in the first gens and not SF2.... Oh well, we can issue a hotfix for those who need it. FC
  23. There is not one...but the current SF2 release can be adapted. FC
  24. Look in the download section... http://combatace.com/files/file/9775-viper-pack-from-avsim/ You'll probably have to do a lot of messaging to get it to work right. FC
  25. Cars 2 coming in 2011

I'll tell ya, Pixar makes some good flicks. I think one of the reasons is that they really put their skull sweat into it. You watch some of the extras on the original Cars, Finding Nemo, Toy Story, etc, you can see just how much research and front end work they do. It's almost like a craft vs a production. Dreamworks makes some fun animated flicks, but Pixar really does go just that extra mile. FC
