  1. File Name: BAF A-4F_74 for SF2 Merged File Submitter: James Fox File Submitted: 12 April 2011 File Category: SF2 Series Add On Aircraft This is a fictional Belgium Air Force A-4F for SF2 series. This model uses ThirdWire’s SF2 series A-4F_74 model so if you do not have ThirdWire’s A-4F_74 it will not work. I have a full Merged install and have no problems. The mode uses Generic decals already in game. I have not created Squadron markings or serial numbers. I really have no idea what they could have been or where they may have appeared on the aircraft. I have included decal address on the model using stock ThirdWire decals where I think they could have appeared. Feel free to add your own and upload if you wish. Sometime back a Belgium member posted a short post on how the Belgium Air Force looked at the A-4 but did not purchase A-4’s. So this is my Fictional mode of one. To install just extract the Zip folder and copy and paste the A-4F_74_BAF into your Aircraft Folder and go fly. Again the mode uses stock everything except the skins. Thanks to ThirdWire for the game which every year gets better and to CombatAce for the forum to Upload this Mode too. This Mode is Freeware and I have really only created the skins and you are free to mode as you wish. Click here to download this file
  2. File Name: F-4M_89_NZ Expansion File Submitter: James Fox File Submitted: 12 April 2011 File Category: SF2 Series Add On Aircraft Spinners F-4M_89_NZ. Modified by James Fox 12/04/2011. Added addional SKins by Sundowner reworked by me to fit the stock F-4M_75 Thirdwire model and some by me plus a little tinkering here and there. Decals by Spinners and some by me and the rest by ThirWire. This is Freeware mod. Very big thanks to Sundowner and Spinners for this mod to which I have only just added too and expanded a little. Plus to ThirdWire and CombatAce. PS. The contents of the Easter Egg Folder must go into the Stock ThirdWire SF2 F-4M_75 Folder, uses stock decals. This a bonus for those who do not want RNZAF aircraft. I have used Spinners ReadMe, well what can I do it is perfect. SPINNERS README:------------------------------------------------------------ McDonnell Douglas Phantom F-4M_89 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2:EUROPE AND FULL MERGED INSTALLS. This is a simple mod of the stock Third Wire Phantom FGR.2 (F-4M_75) to give a fictional 'Kiwi' Phantom with markings for No.2 squadron of the Royal New Zealand Air Force as they might have appeared during the 1990's. BACKSTORY During the build up to Operation Corporate (the UK's military operation to retake the Falkland Islands) the UK Government were overwhelmed at the support given by the countries of the Commonwealth and, in particular, the response of the Australian and New Zealand Governments who provided ships to maintain the UK's NATO commitments and thus allow the Royal Navy to maximise the number of ships it could send to the South Atlantic. In the following years there were many reciprocal deals made and favours given to the Commonwealth nations (and even Chile!) and one such 'favour' was the transfer of 18 ex-RAF Phantom FGR.2's in 1988. The 18 FGR.2's, only recently withdrawn from RAF service, were ferried out to New Zealand (most still in their dirty grey camo scheme) during Operation Saddleback before arriving at Ohakea for refurbishment by a joint McDonnell Douglas /RNZAF team that saw the aircraft eventually emerge in a new 'Forest' style camo scheme and with digital INAS, upgraded RWR and new outer wing panels. Entering service with No.2 squadron in early 1989 (supposedly as the Karearea but they were always simply called Phantoms) the aircraft gave good service to the Royal New Zealand Air Force during the 1990's until finally being retired in December 2001 when, indeed, all 'Air Combat Force' aircraft were sadly withdrawn from service. INSTRUCTIONS 1. Drop the F-4M_89_NZ folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. Drop the SUU-23G folder into your Weapons folder. 2. Sprinkle the contents of the Decals folder into your main Decals folder. Do not just move the folder! You must empty the contents in. CREDITS BIG THANKS to TK for the continuous improvement of a great little game/sim. And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 1 - 15/01/10 Click here to download this file
  3. File Name: F-4E _90_NZ File Submitter: James Fox File Submitted: 12 April 2011 File Category: SF2 Series Add On Aircraft This is my F-4E_90_NZ Fictional mod for all Merged SF2 games and any Standalone game that includes ThirdWire’s stock F-4E_78. Inspired by Spinner’s F-4M_89_NZ I decided to have an F-4E RNZAF mod. I had a Kiwi F-4E mod already right from the start but never uploaded it. Mr. DTM Dragon has uploaded a mod previously and many of these skins can be adapted to work with his mod if you want. However because most of the skins in this mod are new I have decided to upload and share. Over half the skins are from Sundowner and the rest by myself on ThirdWire’s templates and Sundowners templates. Decals are stock and Spinners and some by me. To install just extract and copy and paste the Aircraft Folder into the Aircraft Folder and Decals into Decals Folder. I have restricted the loadout a little, RNZAF is only small so not a large weapons arsenal. However if the RNZAF deployed overseas in a combat role we would most likely get supplies from American, Britain and even Australia. So you can tinker there if you want. I have added Mercenary skins as well. They are Generic so you can mod those skins into any Air Force you want. They are fictional and are purely for fun. Plus another Easter Egg Folder. One to go straight into F-4_78 folder and the other into the F-4D_78 stock folders, decals are all generic. Thanks to TK and ThirdWire for the great game and sim. To CombatAce for this Forum. To Sundowner and Spinners. This is a Freeware mod. James Fox 12/04/11 Click here to download this file

  6. Yes I too use a the Kai cockpit, it has all the goodies and looks right. I only changed the hud colour and rwr. Now yesterday I could not remember the line in the Cockpit .ini, the line is "OPENCOCKPIT=TRUE". Change to FALSE, it works for me. But I have since retroed in the Kai Cockpit. I am currently working additional skins for Spinners F-4M_89_NZ. and mine own F-4E_90_NZ . I have five skins now. Most are based on Sundowners F-4D and F-4E, plus some of TK's . I will need permission to upload Sundowners skins and Spinners Decals at some point in the future. James Fox
  7. Dave I still drive XP and I have encoutered this one alot. It seems Windows 7 drivers do not have that issue. The old DX 9 vs DX 10 again. I am working towards a new Windows 7 system but I have so much other software to replace or up date I have been a little slow. Well I am off home now, cloudy here and really hot, very hot. James Fox
  8. I am at work at the moment but what you need to do is look for in either the cockpit .ini or data.ini file, for a line that looks like SHOW OPEN COCKPIT=TRUE, to FALSE or something like that or is it USE OPEN COCKPIT =? James Fox
  9. Hi you could try this. In whatever of TK's stock F-4D folders you wish to add to. Firstly in that folder copy one of TK's skin folders, paste it in again and it should come up with a new folder called Copy of USAFCamo or something like that. Rename it. to something different from TK's. Then copy into that folder the .bmp files only from the Loran F-4D. You will also have rename those .bmp files to match TK's names. You will have to also add the number .ini file and the decal .ini and add the decals into the stock decal folder. Plus the name in Texture set file will have to match yours. Then you will most likely have to create a folder in the decal folder Called F-4D and just drop the D folder in there, the folder containing the decals. Then you may or will have to go back too the Decal.ini folder within the skin folder and make sure the address for each decal is correct. Say you new Loran F-4D folder is just Loran, then your decal address should read=F-4D/Loran/d/ decal name. Or you cold just use TK's stock Decal file. James Fox.
  10. The otherside, what's over the fence.
  11. Dan I suggest you just go right ahead and do one. Tk over at his forum time and time again quotes. "This is a fun game, this only a light sim." right we all like to be accurate and yes there are those rivet counters out there, but you can learn not to see them. If you you really look at some of my skins, some which I noticed you have already used, they are not prefect. For example TK 's models often only map some aircraft parts once when there left and right parts so you do your best to make it look right. I too have seen the photos of models of RNZAF Camo Vampires. Also some of my skyhawk skins are fictional anyhow. Again remember this fun. These opinons are my own and not Combat Aces. James Fox
  12. http://www.kiwiaircraftimages.com/vampire.html I found this site too have good reference and photos. It would appear that some Kiwi Vampires deployed overseas where in fact leased RAF in Kiwi colours but RAF series and Roundals. James Fox
  13. I patched my SF2 merged games with no problems so far. I have been playing with Spinners F-4M RNZAF mode. I have moved decals around a little. TK has made those extra doors over the engines work, the correct name I have forgotten, shot follows to show what I mean. I had the roundals placed right there and they show on fuselage but not on doors, so does any one know it's texture name so I can put a decal on it. I have moved them forward and down a little for the time being or I could put things back the way Spinner's had in the first place. Now I should be asking TK but my loggon does not seen to work anymore over there. PS. Skins are Sundowers reworked to fit the TK's F-4M , not just renamed. James Fox
  14. Re-worked Sundowners F-4 skins onto Thirdwire F-4_78.
  15. Again thank You Sundowner decals work fine now. See shots below, second one just having fun. James Fox
  16. Thank You Sundowner. Another idea I thought after the fact was to paint the buggers on. Thanks I'll try when I go home tonight. James Fox.
  17. Some lov-viz A-4 skins I have made, still WIP's
  18. Try Tank300_A4 at work at the moment so doing this from memory OK. Ps. I have a Kuwaiti skin coming for the new SF 2 series model which will have moded tanks, will not be ready till next year. James Fox
  19. The Hunter data file has been updated by TK in the new exp 2. Rocket racks have been added. You just need to replace previous data with new one. Worked for me and with Spinners RNZAF F9 Hunter. James

James Fox. 21/01/2011 Update; --------------------------- Warning, If you have not patched to Jan 2011 and do not have a game with Thirdwires F-4M, or you have not downloaded my skin, then this will not work and you do not need to do this. This is a fix-up for my RAF Desert skin. All you have to do is copy and paste this F-4M folder into you Thirdwire Aircraft folder. It will prompt to overwrite, let it, it should not effect anything but correct a folder naming conflict. Thirdwire has released a new skin of their own to the F-4M folder with the Jan 2011 Patch which has the same name as my Desert skin. So I have renamed my Desert skin and included the correction to add Thirdwires new skin as it should be. Skin Folders should look like this when you are done; DESERT RAFCAMO1 RAFCAMO2 Plus the F-4M configuration file which I have also corrected to correct my error. Sorry for the inconvenience but I should have known better and not followed Thirdwires naming conventions. PS, I have included a little decals edit which allows stock serial numbers to be shown on Thirdwire F-4M models fuselage only. For some reason Thirdwire has not included them on the fuselage, they are only on the underside of the wings. Thanks to TK, Thirdwire and CombatAce. James Fox. Click here to download this file
