  1. I voted other as you can find some really uplifting bargains if you look around the big stores. I found a box set of Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, Predator, Predator 2, AVP, and AVP 2, all the discs have director's cut or theatrical where available and bonus features.. price? £10 at HMV!! Now that was a bargain!
  2. Anyone up for it? Started to wonder if I was hallucinating as I could hear what seemed to be a jet doing several turns, low and near to my house.. cue momentary flight of fancy wondering if this was the day the wafu tangle with Flankers escorting Tu-95s probing Drake.. cue sanity and google search Plymouth, Airshow.. result! Today and tomorrow, plenty of Wafu, USAF and civilian action including Redbull racers, wingwalking.. and an Abba tribute band Anyone fancy meeting up there tomorrow send me a PM and I'll send you my number or something, will be out with the cam for sure tomorrow as I clock off half an hour before kick off literally 5 minutes walk! Discussion of the show Link to official site, scroll down to 13-14 July
  3. 2010 FIFA World Cup

I was rooting for Holland as every four years, but after all the (unfair) leniency the ref showed Holland throughout, even if the end wasn't entirely fair it would be hypocritical in the extreme to complain. Next time. Unless Greece are in the final, you never know (I'd say Wales but I'm still awake I think). Right, off to get some Octopus food and a small Greek flag for Paul before some disappointed Dutch revellers fry the poor Cephalopoda, or Jacky Jong kicks kick him in the chest.
  4. Range Time

You'd be good for Filipino Martial Arts, being ambidextrous is instilled in the disciplines, although mostly the closer range stuff is in the left in all the manuals, instructors focus on interchanging sides and stances especially if one is weaker in the student. I was naturally left handed but forced to hold the pen in my right at school, it never really worked as my handwriting is terrible and the pen just feels natural in my left although having been using the right to write for so many years it's hard to switch. Most everything else I do naturally with either hand like I'll move the mouse over to whichever side to make room on the other as required, it's certainly comes in handy now as the nerves on my right hand are mashed up after a nasty injury to one finger cost me the feeling in most of that hand up to the middle of my forearm, i'd probably end up poking my eye out if I tried to pick my nose with it now, so if I was lucky enough to own a gun I would have made sure to buy an ambidextrous model! Sometimes being a natural lefty can be a blessing in disguise
  5. Range Time

From a tactical point of view I always wondered if that might not be an advantage, say you're naturally a right handed shooter and hold your rifle/carbine accordingly, if you can shoot a sidearm from your left, you can reach for it a little earlier, shoot with a gun in both hands even which would be harder to achieve with the main weapon on your left. I thought that as with martial arts it is very common to hold the longer weapon in the right and a shorter range weapon in the left i.e. spear and short sword, long sword short knife, sword and shield and so on, but not so it seems with a main firearm and sidearm
  6. Does anyone here ride Horses?

My preference is bare back, although the missus is not too keen from the safety aspect. (That's not a joke btw although it could be if you ahve a very dirty mind)
  7. Happy Birthday JediMaster

And many returns of the day! Hope you had a great day!
  8. 234 Years Ago

Happy Birthday America! Thanks for all the amazing work you've done and the inspiration you've given down the years. Long live the sparks of revolution against tyranny, the rebels for liberty, democracy, freedom! U.S.A.!
  9. http://www.realsimulator.com/html/cockpits.html Wow! I want level 5! Any more detailed and it'd be verging on blank firer territory. However, if this company is making any of these let alone selling them they must have some considerable capital to invest, something tells me they would have splashed out a bit for a professional translation. However, there are Fujifilm camera manuals far worse
  10. Maybe a kidney would do for a level 0.5
  11. Well I finally did it and took the long held off plunge into getting a new joystick. There's nothing wrong with my ancient Sidewinder II, well except it being ancient. And in a different country. So the budget extended to a Cyborg X and so far no complaints. Along with the new purchase, I took the even longer held off plunge into Free Falcon 5, and don't understand what all the fuss was about. I ran it all afternoon and evening and the nearest thing to a glitch was a bit of graphics tearing after going a bit crazy with the hat switch but even that smoothed itself out after staying on one view for a while. That game has blown my socks off so far, tomorrow I'm planning on testing Blackshark again, the results today were inconclusive as the bloody thing wouldn't even load on my lametop, perhaps lowering a few sliders might help. I digress, what I'm searching for is a profile for the Cyborg X to use with Free Falcon 5 and Blackshark, if anyone knows of some it would be most awesome!

  13. 2010 FIFA World Cup

We're done for! Damn! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/10420131.stm Why just for that, I fancy grilled 'Xctopodi with lemon juice and fava, not that I don't crave it every day anyway Ah well, whatever happens, it's sure to be a great game! ....Come on Engluuuund!! [cue astonished English readers falling over as they realise a true native Welsh speaking Welshman is rooting for England]
  14. Why me?

Wawewewa! I strongly recommend you check up on that husband NOW, or brush up on your martial arts just in case and just tap it! Seriously! Talk about an opportunity of a lifetime
  15. Why me?

What a quagmire! The situation I mean, not you, well if you like her as more than a friend and might consider a relationship with her, with love and all that kind of stuff.. probably this isn't a good idea as many have already pointed out, if she cheats now what's to say she won't in the future (however, not every one needs to be sexually chained to their partner to be in love with them). There are many exceptions, for example, what if I told you someone I know very well, let's call her X was with someone when she and Y first .. and well over three years later and X and Y are absolutely fine. She might be in an unhappy relationship and needs to get out, maybe she has feelings for you, however the huge question mark in all this is why then to make it public, at the very least it isn't an indication that she is a private person, or wise, and sounds to me much more like either a trap or just someone who is very comfortable with sex outside of her relationship. If it is the later, and if you can handle it being just a bit of fun, you would still need to bear in mind that it isn't going to be private by the sounds of it which could cause all number of problems with not so open minded or jealous colleagues. It is possible that her husband doesn't mind.. to be honest I don't think X or Y would mind within reason, so long as it is safe and consensual, what harm is it? But then not everyone thinks the same. If it was me.. I'd probably check out the husband a bit more first, although I have no idea how you'd do that, probably not something like: "would you cheat on your wife? What if she cheated on you? Why am I asking, just because I'm planning to.. er I mean look over there!" but somehow, some way if you could get confirmation that he really isn't likely to have a problem.. and she is a friend.. well.. Aha! Why not say to her you'd feel better if maybe she'd get her husband in on it s well, that way you could go round for dinner and see what the crack is.
  16. Couldn't be better TV wise for me tonight as a fan of Werner Herzog, Clint Eastwood and Start Trek. I like most Vietnam War films but having just read something about historical inaccuracies in Rescue Dawn I'm veering more towards Cadillac Man never having seen it before, then again it has been at least a decade since last seeing Star Trek 1. Hmm what do I do, you decide!
  17. I don't really go to the cinema often these days, mostly as the films that are on offer hardly ever seem to be worth going back to watch again and leave me with a numb behind and a distinct feeling of having been ripped off. Prices are ridiculous at the cinema these days so am content to enjoy the films of old and the artistic cinema that hardly appears at most cinemas these days anyway. I think the last time I actually enjoyed the cinema experience was watching Son of Rambow in a tiny little cinema in Stratfford-upon-Avon (the birthplace of Shakespeare incidentally, the town, not the cinema) not overly priced ice cream and plenty of leg room at the back made all the better as the gf and I were the only ones there, cute film too. I think it must have been the updated one they showed the other night as the special effects showing V-ger's insides were way awesome. Now Abyss, there's a film worth seeing again! Never saws the extended version, but as with most films I expect the special edition to be that little bit more special, exceptions exist of course such as Alien as pointed out by Cameron on the DVD intro were he basically tells you that you shouldn't waste your time watching it as the original was the directors cut and the studios just wanted to sell more DVDs of the film by getting him to fiddle with it a bit.
  18. I'm assuming it was the directors cut at well over two hours with adverts. Then again, it's getting increasingly rare that a film of any description makes it much past 90mins these days. I don't know if it's peoples attention span dictating the market or the other way around, either way, if the market can survive with weak plots, messy half second or less frames cobbled together with special effects and a well known face or two in 90 minutes, who can blame them for milking it for all its worth. It's so sad the way this world has changed. Euch, I'm getting oooold.
  19. Well that's just fantastic. I'm not exactly happy with the features we have now as it is, for years I've kept buying each and every game TK releases usually on the day it comes out just to keep contributing on the off chance that one day, one day, in the far distant future, TK actually gets to implementing the features that would make a DIANE possible for the A-6 for example. This news, and the likelihood that the next couple of dozen titles/expansion are going back to Korea, post war Europe, hint that the apogee of the whole series will end up in the Second World War. Great if that's your thing, but me, I came along the ride for the Cold War jets which for me meant state of the art precision platforms as opposed to precision munitions. From day one, I was hoping for a TK F-111, a working A-6, a more detailed use of the F-4 ground radar, and now it looks like I'll never get to see any of that, ever. Damn this sucks! But come release day, I'll be there, hopefully. I just hope there will be some new features, like removing the call for help option from the radio menu, I've no idea how hard it is to remove one line from the radio menu as opposed to make it work in the game but it would definitely be less grating not to have something there at all than to have something that doesn't work, left there for no apparent reason, in that sense less features may not be the end of the world after all.
  20. WoW! That's awesome! Any more of a fan and you'd be getting SF themed tattoos/body modifications
  21. Back to the world

Welcome back Jeff! Hope you enjoyed some of England's green and pleasant land, you're off to the States tomorrow is it? Have a safe one and enjoy some well earned beer and BBQ, you can only have one of those on the flying gas station right
  22. Final medal needed

WoW! F15actace, cool your boots a moment mate! I wasn't teasing you at all, and I'm sorry to hear about your health problems but as Fast Cargo pointed out you aren't the first or the last around here with medical problems and we aren't like the vast majority of gaming focused websites that would tear a "noob" into little pieces for asking a wrong question although I suspect your reaction may have been because you anticipated us to be like that perhaps based on what you see people doing on other sites. You say this is the first forum you joined so welcome aboard, notice from your 4th and 5th post the correct way to go about things I have nothing but fond memories of Ace Combat and hope you enjoy them, personally I can't afford a console right now so It's not an option for me. I wasn't teasing you just inferring that like many of us hear I suspect, your enjoyment of Combat Ace may well suit you to the Thirdwire games. In any case, good luck.
  23. Cadillac Man next time, bound to be on soon as ITV recycle their films through their four channels. Watching SF:TMP last night was weird, some of it is cheeze to cringeworthy levels while the overall concepts about V-ger are amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed it, hope they put on II and III in the coming weeks, I think I'm developing pon-far for Trek films it's been that long!
  24. I'm going to remember that word! Next time I ask for a German film I should ask for a "Schwanken film"
