Mine are based on trial / error so that is probably why they differ. -
[What-If] The Scandinavian Carrier
JonathanRL replied to JonathanRL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
I know. Blame the game engine, but considering how much grief the decals overall gave me, I was not about to put another hour into decals. The proper Norwegian Roundel is as shown on the F-11. Might fix that one before releasing tough; if I do that. Indeed. The Tiger and maybe the Skyhawk would be the only ones who could handle it until the Harrier came into the light and by then, the Carrier itself would show her age a little too well. -
You are quite right. I had forgotten the key point in the entire thing, and that is "that we are likely to experience" :) But oh well. It´s not like I care.

If you care about numbers, it may be interesting for you to know that 12-12-12 is the last date we are going to have that is three of the same numbers. That is, unless somebody screws around more with Calenders and / or invent a new way to calculate time.

I can certainly understand her. She was tricked into violating the codex of Nurses, because she felt the relatives ought to know. Then it gets all over the newspapers. Jail the radio people; they are to be judged for their role in this affair by twelve of their peers.

Best of Both Worlds in Aircraft Painting...
JonathanRL posted a topic in Military and General Aviation
Today, Sweden discontinues the use of the A/B versions of JAS 39 Gripen. So they went ahead and painted it in the old fashioned Viggen colour :) -
First major snowstorm hits Stockholm. Aside from this almost shutting down the entire bus & train network (yes, I am dead serious), there are other hazards one must be aware of, like this fella here near Odenplan, ten minutes from Stockholm Central.

J 34H Hawker Hunter (Fictional) In the late 1960s, the J 34 was one of the aircraft scheduled to be decommissioned, and replaced with more modern aircraft. At the same time however, arose the question of disbanding the Flottilj at F 8 Barkarby in its entirety. Worried that troops who might do battle in the area of Stockholm would be vulnerable to enemy air attack without sufficient support themselves, it was decided to keep two divisions of Hawker Hunters, refitted for close attack duties until the Viggen could properly cover the entire area. In 1978, evalutation showed that the Hunter pilots - experts in close air support and anti helicopter duties - was an asset too valuable to loose. An attempt was made to find them new aircraft, but the Hawker Hunters proved better then any of the alternative, as well as cheaper. To reinforce their worth, the aircraft was given modern HUDs, a new in-wing pylon for RB 75 Maverick and the development of a new bomb capsule device was pushed forth. The Hawker Hunters would continue to serve from Bromma & Arlanda Airports until 2003, when they would be retired - having outlasted three of the Aircraft meant to replace them. Five was preserved. One for the Swedish Air Force Museum, one for the Swedish Air Force Historical Flight and two as gate guards for Arlanda and Bromma. Arlanda Airport also has one standing inside Terminal 5, where visitors may climb into the cockpit and learn more of the aircraft. -
Individual speech packs for different nations
JonathanRL replied to thereg's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I tried recruting voice actors who went sent the package with files they are to record over, instructions and so on _never_ does any work whatsoever. Quite mad at that actually. And that is just the Swedish ones. Might yell at them a little bit more, or try getting new ones. Finnish could be ripped from Il-2 if anybody is feeling up for it - but Norwegian and Danish is going to be a pain and prob not done at all. -
How I can choose this mission type?
JonathanRL replied to Phil56's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Wings over Vietnam / SF2: Vietnam does not have Intercept available in stock, as such - above option will not work. You will need to enable it. Go to VietnamSEA.ini - it is found in the Terrains folder. Find this line [AllowedMissionTypes] There is a list that should look like this. FriendlyMissionTypes=SWEEP,CAP,ESCORT,INTERCEPT,STRIKE,SEAD,RECON,ANTI_SHIP EnemyMissionTypes=SWEEP,CAP,ESCORT,INTERCEPT,STRIKE,SEAD,RECON,ANTI_SHIP Add ,INTERCEPT to both in the same manner as the other missions. Done. -
Victory conditions other than BaseArea?
JonathanRL replied to arthur666's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Is Mar'ivka connected in any way with Sevastopol? And are there troops able to prevent movement from Mar'ivka to Sevastopol? If not, all you have is that once the area is captured, the enemy will race to Sevastopol. -

The TSF Jaktraketkapsel works in a similar manner and are tagged as IRM; since this makes the pilots more inclined to actually use them. Data file attached. Weapons.rar -
Also note that DCS Black Shark 1 is going for 6 euro (or local equal)

Surprise attack question
JonathanRL replied to slick cowboy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
To attack the naval force, the opposing sides - in this case the Empire of Paran - needs to be aware of its existance. Naval Strike & Anti_Ship 0 is ineffective, as regular strike missions can also be done against a naval force. If you do not wish it to be attacked, set the naval task force intelligence to 0 and make sure the Empire of Paran does not have any aircraft preforming Naval Search role. The Suprise Attack is usually only to set the first mission to be a scramble mission and will reduce allied air activity for the first day or so of the Campaign. -

In Sweden (Sorry Israel, I really am); the Iron Dome is regarded as "but they wont hit anything thanks to Iron Dome, so why does Israel retaliate." by the general public. Oh dear, I am so sick of people here who does not seek news and believe all they are fed by the media who seems to only publish Hamas press releases. Fortunately, they are too busy gloating over a political mistake by the most hated party in the Parliament, or they would probably give Israel alot more heat. Stay safe!
