TSF J 35 Draken Flygvapnet Package
JonathanRL replied to JonathanRL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Apologies, mate. I seem to have forgotten the actual instructions. If you installed TSF already, simply unzip this package in the same folder as TSF. Otherwise, refer to TSF Installation Instructions first. Go to your Mod Folders. For Windows 7/Vista, this is located in C:\Users\Your Name\Saved Games\Thirdwire. For Windows XP Users, it is usually in My Documents. Unzip the contents of the 7zip files into the mod folder of your choice. Allow any overwrites. Remember that the folder you unzip the game into is the .exe you have to run. -

The Scandinavian Front Saab F-35 Draken Flyvevabnet Package By Team TSF & Friends Danish export version: F-35 single-seat strike aircraft, The type was heavily modified to make it into a strike aircraft; compared to the Swedish versions the outer wings where completely redesigned, and the radar was missing. These aircraft could carry heavy bombs as well as Bullpup missiles, during the WDNS upgrade of the 1980s they received the ALQ-162 jammer a Marconi 900 Series HUD and a Ferranti LRMTS (laser rangefinder and marked target seeker) Package contains two aircraft, F 35 version and the upgraded F 35 (82) version. Both birds are nice strike aircraft, albeit more sluggish then the standard Draken. Have fun! Installation: Go to your Mod Folders. For Windows 7/Vista, this is located in C:\Users\Your Name\Saved Games\Thirdwire. For Windows XP Users, it is usually in My Documents. Unzip the contents of the 7zip files into the mod folder of your choice. Allow any overwrites. Please note: Loadouts are not entirely accurate. I taken a few liberties with the 82 version, as sources was hard to find. Also, the air intake rail was usually reserved for the Bullpup but I reserved it for the quite exellent Sidewinder Rails made by Volker. Escort and Anti-Ship single missions not working?
JonathanRL replied to BradenFTW's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
I do not know. I usually run with the latest. -
Viggen, the beautiful brute......
JonathanRL replied to Derk's topic in Military and General Aviation
First of all, the Fighter Versions of the Lansen did not come into service until late in the fifthies and it was mostly meant as a night / bad weather fighter - not day fighter duties. Despite where technology was heading, it was considered too heavy for the task. A Day Fighter Version was indeed planned, but J 34 Hawker Hunter chosen instead. -
Escort and Anti-Ship single missions not working?
JonathanRL replied to BradenFTW's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
You need to have Strike Capable Aircraft as well as interceptors in your install for the Escort Missions. Do the Aircraft you are to escort show up? If so, download a modern Interceptor like MiG-29 Fulcrum or Su-27 Flanker. The Anti-Ship issue is a collission lod thing, that begun with SF2: NA. One of the latest patches fixed it as far as I know. -

Hawker Hunter was bought for the same reason as the US Navy adopted the F 11F Tiger. They wanted a hedge against any delay in the Draken (Crusader in US Navy case) program. -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8TjXx23iio&hd=1 In order to keep suspence, more information will follow in a few hours. Keep in mind that what you watch is a early Alpha; we still have bug fixes (3D and otherwise) and FM work to do. -

Just get the NATO Fighters 5 Mod. It is pretty much what you are looking for. -

You and I have a very different view on what "freely avalible" is. For me, in modding terms, "Freely available" means I can secure permission easily to post the mod under certain conditions. While these conditions may vary, the general giest of it is that the mod is easy to get. Signing up on A-Teams site is a procedure that took me a few weeks to complete back when I was a member. I make my Campaigns All Inclusive and making one of those with an A-Team Viggen would mean every single person who wanted the Campaign had to sign up on A-Teams site. While it can be argued that people need to sign up to CombatAce as well, it is a much easier process and one none of the fans of TSF within the Swedish or Finnish flight community ever protested to. If somebody wants just the Viggen, yes it will be easier to just sign up to A-Team. If somebody wants to use it in a mod that can be posted somewhere else then A-Teams site, then they have to wait for ours. -

I would not call anything released by A-Team "available". But yes, it is roughly the same model. I dont know if the pilot tube is still in the wrong place, or if Cocas fixed that but honestly, I do not care. Our main objective with this Aircraft is to have a stand-in in until somebody makes a completely new aircraft - and if somebody does not do a new aircraft, then we have a Viggen at CA available for all, and then I can live with a pilot tube in the wrong place. -

We put the "At least" since SF versions would require a new nose. Since I know next to nothing about 3D, I leave most of the decisions regarding such things up to the people who I enlist for the task. I will forward the suggestion, but no promises. I might however recommend you to try Ice Cream & Beer if you seek to bribe them -

Model is made by Anders Lejczak, used with written permission. Conversion, bug fixing and version adjustments are made by Cocas. Current texture was provided with the model and used as a stand in. Finished Aircraft will be skinned by Paulopanz. Hopefully we can provide templates but no promises. It will be armed with the beautiful weapons made by Ravenclaw007. So what is left for us to do? A lot. The airplane needs a flight model, some of the major 3D bugs with the landing gear / landing gear bay needs to be fixed as well as a plethora of other things. The Aircraft will be released as a part of a TSF Package, but also available standalone a few days later. We cannot give a time table since we want it to be as good as possible, but we will try not to drag out on it. The Airplane will be made in at least SH-37, AJ-37 & JA 37 configurations. It will be placed in a Campaign alongside its Nordic companions from the same day and age from Finland, Denmark and Norway. People who think they may be able to aid in the project are welcome to send a PM. -

You will not see a "TSF Android" or "TSF IOS". I promise. -
As a person on a Swedish Flight Sim forum said: "DCS is starting to look like a wierd form of FSX where weapons and missions are flown at times, but where people spend most of their time formation flying since they have nothing good to fly against unless they own LOMAC, a superior title."

A-Team has a update on their site, for their model but FM is still off and facts still rather wrong. Any further information regarding the Saab Viggen in combination with SF2 and/or mods is classified at the highest levels. ;-)
