  4. I think we might have gotten the Arrow as a Strike Bomber, since there is nothing wrong with the J-35s range. After all, we once had one over Liepaja, and not only did it get back, it also outran two MiG-29 Fulcrums :D And yes, it is very similar to a real project, the Saab 36, a proposed nucelar strike bomber. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_36
  5. All my work gone

Computer rebooted. Tried both before and after to save the Anatolian campaign. No joy there. The main .ini is saved, but not the data file - the one containing the many hours of ground, air and naval war. TSF patch is also a goner but that will just take an hour or so do do all over again. At least now the computer works like it should...
  6. All my work gone

The file system is not intact, at least not the Thirdwire part. You see, I can access the computer just fine. It´s just slow. OS also works, abeit not "fine": The way W7 stores files is in Profiles. When my computer created a new profile (Temporary as it said), it used the same name and instead of naming it "TEMP-Jonathan" or something, it just named it Jonathan. Since there was another profile by that name it deleted the old content and moved in the new one. Belive me, I searched for one and a half hour before posting the thread. SSD and all that might be a good way for the future but it wont help the current situation.
  7. Caption This

That picture reminds me alot about this (Sorry for breaking stride, but see it as my reply :D) "Thre's a story going around that it bothered Hitler that his soldiers were copulating with non-aryan women, and to stop it he got the idea for a sex doll. He did however not trust German scientists with this task, so he asked the Danish ones he had instead. Apparently they had a better knowledge of such things. The dolls were never made, but Hitler wanted them to have blond hair, blue eyes and big breasts." http://satwcomic.com/even-nazis-have-needs

  10. Torpedflygplan 3 ("Gråsälen") Svenska Marinen / Flygvapnet When the carrier HMS Gustav II Adolf was purchased and began her service in the Swedish Fleet, she had come equipped with ten TBM Avenger Aircraft that the former crew simply had been told to leave on board. At first, it was expected that these would serve as the strike aircraft of the Carrier, but it turned out many was in a utter state of disrepair and none ever came to fly off the deck. Instead, they went into storage, only to be rediscovered again in the late nineties to the everlasting joy of many aircraft museums around the world. Discussions ran wild about what the Carrier should be equipped with. Her fighter screen of J 24F Wildcats was used to train carrier pilots, so maybe something similar? Others mocked the idea, claiming a larger aircraft was needed to deliver a sufficient payload for the Carriers task. The Swedish Navy however chose to go ahead and order 30 A-1 Skyraiders. This deal was very uncontroversial, as it suited the carrier fine and could provide the task needed of her. In late 1947, the first delivery was made of 10 aircraft, and with them on board, the HMS Gustav II Adolf sailed into Stockholm for a visit by the King. During this visit, a little girl said that the Skyraiders looked like Grey Seals on a Cliff by the sea. This was quoted by a newspaper, and even before the vessel had left port, Seals had begun to appear on the Aircraft in many shapes and forms. A official design for the aircraft was chosen a month later and painted upon all the Aircraft. When the HMS Gustav II Adolf was retired in 1956, few saw a reason to keep the Torpedflygplan 3 in service. Four was kept for testing of the new Robot 4, and it was found that with an extra electronics package attached to the wing, the "Grey Seals" was a suitable aircraft to launch the missile. In 1957, the Coastal Defence officially proposed keeping the aircraft, fitted with missiles in their budget, but operated by the Air Force. The Idea was generally well liked and in 1959, all 30 T 3s had been modified to the new standards and officially flown by pilots from F 2 Hägernäs. Their new doctrine was hit and fade near the Swedish Coast. They would appear, fire and disappear, operating from small makeshift airstrips or patrol the Swedish waters. In 1963, they made headline news all over the world when they had fired upon a Soviet Submarine in Swedish Waters. With severe damage to the conn tower, the Submarine was unable to dive and was displayed to all the world. In 1968, however it was decided that the timespan of the Aircraft had come to an end. Soviet Countermeasures and anti-aircraft had developed to such a level that the Skyraider was no longer deemed able to survive in combat. The remaining aircraft was put into storage and sold to private collectors and companies in the early 80s.
  11. I still have complete 3D versions of the Viggen & SK 60 I want converted. As long as they are in the game as 3D files, I think I can take it from there (prob with alot of questions asked here, but still...) I am however most ignorant about the effort involved. Anybody want to help with this have my eternal gratitude. However, I am not sure if Blender can open these files. So any Max user who would like to experiment with FastCargos method with already completed models, I got something you can use, if you kindly please!
  12. "Warbirds: Dogfights 2012"

Oh, FA 2 introduced me to WW2 Multiplayer. I loved FA 2 & FA 3. Too bad it went bankrupt.
  13. :no2: Sad to hear that. You work always looked very good, and I really looked forward to seeing your take on the Viggen. Hope all is well for you, whatever you chose to do!
  14. I think the only one available is Razbaams and that one is pay-ware AFAIK. http://www.razbamsims.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=35&osCsid=81cf2ecb7caa5e3000efcf00b2efb6cf
  15. If you start for example New Guinea 1942 with a P39D, that campaign will be finished with that aircraft. Then you will jump to the next one, Japan 1945 with the chosen aircraft for that campaign.

  17. J 24A Lokatten (Swedish Air Force F4F-4 Wildcat "What-If") The purchase of the F4F-4 Wildcat into the Swedish Air Force is considered something of a legend in the annals of Airplane Purchases since it resulted in one of the largest weapon purchases to date by the Swedish Goverment from a foreign power. In mid-1943, the Swedish Air Force approached the American Defence Department, seeking compensation for the J 9 (P-35) Aircraft that had never been delivered. With the J 9 assembly line no longer operational, the Americans offered F4F-4 as an alternative and was willing to supply 45 aircraft within six months. Delivery took place between 1943 and early 1944. The land-based aircraft was named J 24A "Lokatten" (Lynx) and was stripped of most of their naval and carrier gear, making the aircraft having a higher climb rate. J 24 wings formed the core of the Intercept portion of F 6 Karlsborg & F 9 Säve until relived by J 28 Vampires late in the forties. The Aircraft was liked by pilots and crew alike, proving to be a able opponent in dogfight drills. When the last aircraft was delivered, early 1944, a representative from the US Navy joked "Do you want an Aircraft Carrier with that?". Startled, the Air Force officer in charge of the reception asked how much one would cost. Four months later, the Swedish Goverment officially requested to purchase a Light Carrier at the end of the War. One month after peace was signed in Europe, the HMS Smiter, a Bogue-class Carrier arrived in Karlskrona to be renamed HMS Gustaf II Adolf. Along with the purchase, twenty F4F-4 was included. These was given the new designation of J 24F Havskatten (Seacat). They would continue to serve as the carriers main fighter screen and continued to do so throughout the Carriers career in the Swedish Navy. During the Catalina Affair, J 24Fs from the carrier provided air cover for the SAR operations and would prove to be good and reliable. In 1955, the Aircraft was deemed obsolete with no replacement in sight for the Navy. As such, the Carrier HMS Gustaf II Adolf came to be sold to Norway in 1956, where she served as the HNoMS Oslo until 1983. That is pretty much everything to it. This is a Hobbyboss Easy Assembly F4F-4 Wildcat, since I was not into getting my hands down in glue for a weekend. I wanted something quick and easy to build and this fit the bill. Having decals over from a J 21 project earlier, I decided to make this into a Swedish Wildcat. The Wildcat was indeed up for discussion during the second world war when the need for modern fighters was desperate, especially after we was denied delivery of the P 35. Was tons of fun to build, and also the first time I managed to correctly do a blue underside and a green overside without it looking like utter crap...
  20. J 24A Lokatten (F4F-4 Wildcat Swedish Air Force)

I use Humbrol. The Brush effect is avoided by using a very small, high quality brush with little colour every time and then doing one or two layers.
  21. I may be incorrect, but Windloop may be one of the sounds that belong in the Flight folder.
  22. Short answer: Yes. P-47 is flyable in Pacific and Eastern Front. P-38 in the Pacific. To provide a chart would be difficult as different aircraft can be chosen. For example, in the pacific, you can choose between P-51D and P-47D and onward. This is even more true for the Soviet Squadrons where there is a big mix of Lend-Lease and Soviet built aircraft.
  23. Ok, here is the deal. TSF 3D People are either burned out or busy with other projects. As such, I wish to ask some of you 3D Guys for help. The Aircraft are the Saab 37 Viggen & SK 60 I do not know much of 3D; but the specifics are as follows. Both Models are "complete". They need to be adjusted and converted to work in SF2 but you do not need to make any of them from scratch. We have permission slips from the Authors for both. They can easily be sent to anybody who wish to take on the project. I might want a volenteer for FM work, but general editing and skinning can be done by TSF Crew. I beg for your help. I want a Viggen campaign for TSF, but at the moment, this cannot be done without the help of the community. If you are interested, Drop me a PM, and I send over the relevant files.
