New Squadrons in WoI Problem
JonathanRL posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Hello. Long time, no See. I recently re-installed Wings over Israel and decided I wanted to add some European Squadrons into Six Day War and Yom Kippur Campaigns (yes, I am aware of the historical reasons why such things would not be possible, but some historical liberties). At any rate, I find myself in a problem. I have just added the Sea Vixen to the game, made sure it can fly in the game and works and all, but assigning this plane to a Squadron is impossible. I have created a new Squadron, flying for Royal Navys Fleet Air Arm and using Sea Vixens but when I select this squadron in the game list under Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm, regardless of what plane I choose, I end up flying for the 101th First Fighter Squadron. I have checked every basic sourceproblem I can think of, but cant solve it. Can anybody be of some help? -
QFT R6 Vegas 1&2 - clean rape of the Rainbow Six Franchise. Please, never again. GRAW - good, and the story too. Just about as realistic as CoD 4 and just as entertaining. It worked. End War - No f***ing way Clancy had anything to do with that plot H A W X - Seriously, Does Ubi even call Ol Tom before they use his plot? I will - however - buy and play H A W X. I could use something like this actually.

It was at least ten years since I last built a model aircraft, until a few weeks ago when I built a rather sloppy F-5B. Now I did it again, this time with a IAF Kfir. Yes, I know colour is plain instead of camo and that some of the markings are in the wrong place, but I took some liberties in order to make it look nice instead of trying something advanced and spoling the entire thing. http://brommaherman.deviantart.com/art/Isr...r-C-7-112194146 I would welcome other postings of your works as well as constructive critisism.

There is a campaign mod, allowing you to fly for the Bad Guys and the unflyable IAF Aircraft: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=6144 -

Very true. Its my favorite WW2 fighter. Always fly it when I can. The person below wears a Uniform.

This one awfully reminds me of a similar one involving U.S Warships and a Canadian Lighthouse.

Welcome Home :) May I enquire where you have served? Seeing that we have so many heroes who do their duty to their countries here, I figured I better ask :)

STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
JonathanRL replied to Crusader's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Bought it. First cause of action was to make the Hunter and Mirage Flyable along with all the MiGs. Having a blast flying the damn things as a Merc :). Its really an improvement. In SP1, a single MiG was "oh, lets fire guns". Now, Every MiG is a big problem :) -

I just came from a humiliating event in Fighter Ace III (Multiplayer) where I had flown the TBF Avenger against enemy ships, dropped the torp, and got ambushed by a Zero played by a top ranking player. I managed to speed away from him after damaging his engine with the Tail Guns, jeering and taunting, looking back....flying straight into a Dover-sized cliff. The Zero guy never let me hear the end of it. -
Thoose small ones are pretty damn nice. I keep one for myself, for typing on the fly and for watching movies when I travel.

Difficulty? Is it this easy?
JonathanRL replied to slybelle's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
This reminds me when I once replaced a A-4 squadron with the A-1 Skyraider. THAT was utter suicide! Had to change the target list for the squadron just to make it past the first two missions. -
Tought Il-2 1946 is a exellent simulator, if you seek some Arcade, Multiplayer Action, I recommend Fight Ace III. Its Arcad:ish but you still have a realistic ammount of ammunition, fuel and such. It also devides each country for its own on some maps, so its entirely possible to fight with P-40:ies against Soviet or Brittish Fighters. Level bombing is also great fun in the game (try getting a fully loaded B-17 off the ground and up to combat attitude) and Torpedoes against the Carrier Air Groups with their flack and fighter screens is truly something you should try. The looks arent the best - the feeling is. The game is free to download and play Single Player (only training maps) and cost a monthly fee to play, however to enjoy a taste of multiplayer, you both get a trial for 14 days - and after that there is a freeware arena open for all players. https://fighterace.ketsujin.com//Default2.asp

Future Swedish fighter
JonathanRL replied to darkjak's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
Making it have a hook for Carrier Ops may be cool, but not very practical. Sweden has never needed and unless the world around the floods and turn Stockholm into the only Island in the area, they wont need one either. It has been the luxuary of Swedish Defence to focus more on weapons, interception speed and agility then range. Otherwise, its a nice idea. Keep it up! -
Do you fly for your own nation?
JonathanRL replied to Gepard's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
I fly every Swedish and German plane I can get my hands on. That does not prevent me from shooting them down if I feel in the mood for it. Actually, chasing a Viggen in a MiG-19 is something people should try :) ((Father Swedish, Mother German :) )) -
My girlfriend always dresses up like santa so HELL YEA! The Person below me wants his personal Hawker Hunter.

1: Hard to say. I would say Yes. Like many others said, few NATO Countries would fight for Georgia. 2: No. Georgia moved into SO first. For a pre-emptive strike, NATO Command has to be in agreement. The defence treaty is only in effect for defence purpose. A country has to be attacked first in order to be eligable for NATO Aid.

My sympathies are with the civilian caught in the middle, but my respect for Russian Intervention lost when they started attacks on Georgian Soil and I also doubt they do this for good will. They are moving abit too fast towards the Georgian border for that...
