One more thing....we could also achieve TVC-like performance by dramatically improving control surfaces' effectiveness, maybe with a curve-scale response, i.e. less responsive for small-medium inputs, for flawless normal flight, and much more effective on longer stick excursions.... Dunno, just an idea, don't destroy me if this is unobtainable....XD

Actually, I noticed that the NumSquadron entry MUST match squadron number in SQUADRONLIST.ini, without changing it, I couldn't fly VF-84 Tomctas in 79 WoE campaign, the game just kept sending me to 7th TFS Bunyaps flying F-15s... Care to check it FastCargo? I don't think it's just a coincidence.... Kept 5, F-15, modified to 122, Jolly Rogers Tomcats (as I was wishing...XD) -
I tested that Valk, it's made from Kazunori Ito, the FM is of an F-4 with added thrust, not a wise choice I think...Guess it would be more realistic using a Hornet or Tomcat, based on dimentions and handling, of course with WAAAAAY more thrust, better roll rate and VEEERY high alphas... What do you guys think? Ah, I forgot......and thrust vectoring nozzles, of course XD I was thinking.....what about a manual TV, linkerd to the usual vector thrust commands in the game? So one could control the nozzles independently from the flight surfaces, for added maneuverability...

Well... managed to check a little.... They effectively pump out chaff, but I thought missiles would be a little more resistant to countermeasures... However, I noticed that you can lock on a bandit and shoot a phoenix from some 50 miles away, but if you follow mission profiles and use alt-n to skip navigation, which I usually do, you get much closer to the enemies, and if you lock on them from 7 miles away, well it's a REAL BVR, considering my average distances...lol

Hi Guys, a quick ( I hope) question: How come my ARH missiles ( amraam, phoenix, R-77) and even sometimes my SARH missiles become almost useless??? I mean, using F-14D and F-14QS, I shot a phoenix to a J-11 Flanker ( nice work Marc btw! ) form 9 miles away, then from 7, 5 and 4 miles away, and guess? Yeah, right, 4 Shots, NO hits....now, that's a little frustrating, don't you think? Same thing often happens with amraams or adders, while sparrows, winders and R-73s still look a little more reliable.... Anybody has suggestions? They used to work fine till a couple weeks ago... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't wanna become a ground pounder for the rest of my life.... I mean, I like strike missions, but the Cat's still my favorite bird, and at the current state of things, it's almost useless... Thanks for your help! hide86

Well, Baltika, the new J-11 by MarcFighters actually CAN do a cobra-like maneuver, tried it last night.. But I'm still having problems when pitching back down, just an instant too late centering the stick and you drop to 70-80 kts, with the a/c spinning to the ground, I recovered just twice on maybe 5 attempts... :( However, some practice should do miracles about it, and you should also be able to use J-11's ini files for the standard Flanker... Give it a shot and tell me your results, so I can tell wether I just suck with the flanker or it's a common problem... Cheers!

Shadows problem...

Thank you Wrench, however I noticed that both shadow and "vectors" vanish by switching to a 16bit resolution (same res only 16 instead of 32 bits)... Is that normal or maybe there's something else wrong? What do you guys think? Thanks! hide -
Hi Guys, I got a little problem... Why aircraft shadows never appear on my pc, even if i got them enabled in the options and in the various aircraft inis? All fiiles are placed where they should, still nothing! Funniest thing, I Copied my install overwriting the oldone on a friend's pc and they work... Video card is a Radeon X600 128Mb (pretty old, I know it, don't kill meXD it's just a notebook...) res is 1440*900 all details on high...HELPPP!!! blink.gif BTW, if I use 32bit reolutions they work, but with a strange "vectored" effect, like I see semitransparent vector from my plane to its shadow on the ground, and there's no way to eliminate them...What could I do, anybody got ideas???
