RAF base operations and QRA/refuelling missions
comrpnt posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
File Name: RAF base operations and QRA/refuelling missions File Submitter: comrpnt File Submitted: 5 Sep 2006 File Category: SF Missions/Campaigns This upload contains a variety of missions I've written to make use of the Da Nang enhancements I've done for WOV. I use RAF aircraft and/or skins, but simply changes to the .msn files can change the details to your preferred country of choice. The missions included are as follows: 1. RAF Fmk6 R-Base.msn - Lightning F.mk6 free flight parked on Da Nang ramp with 5 and 11 squadrons parked up along side your starting position. 2. RAF Fmk6 NR-QRA.msn - Lightning night QRA mission from the QRA sheds I added at the North end of Da Nang airfield. Intercept a Badger bomber coming in from the North East. If you have time try to find and rendezvous with the A310 MRTT tanker before turning for home. BTW, be careful near that Badger, he likes to shoot! 3. RAF Fmk6 PR-Tanker.msn - Flight of two Lightnings. Take off and practice tanking with the MRTT circling near Yankee Station. 4. RAF F4 NR-Base.msn - Similar to Lightning free flight mission above but with an F4 Phantom and at night. 5. RAF F4 PR-Tanker.msn - Similar to the pairs Lightning tanking exercise but again with F4 Phantoms I've also included my Da Nang airfield Terrain/VietnamSEA enhancements in this post to make it simpler to install the QRA sheds, ground objects and extra lights I use. [Extras Required] These missions make use of the static aircraft I devised to populate the ramp at Da Nang. All these statics are now up at CombatAce in the Object Mods section (search on comrpnt or static). For example, here http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=2929 For the lightning I use, try here http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...mp;showfile=736 For the C-130J I use try here http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=1703 You'll also need a tanker. I use the A310 MRTT with Gramps' RAAF skin, found at www.AvSim.com (search on MRTT). You could easily use the excellent YAP KC-135 if you want, it works just as well. Finally, for someone to Intercept I used the Badger-A, found here http://www.column5.us/aircraft3.shtml Hope you like flying these missions. Good luck. ;-) Cheers, regards, P.T. RAF Pilot skins collection

File Name: RAF Pilot skins collection File Submitter: comrpnt File Submitted: 2 Sep 2006 File Category: SF Object Mods Welcome to my first attempt to draw some RAF pilot skins. I've drawn pilot and navigator skins for the following RAF Squadrons... Pilot: 5, 11, 19, 56, 74, 92, 111 Navigator: 19, 56, 74, 92, 111 Both skins are available in camo or white helmets. The naming convention I've adopted is... PLTnnnv | | | | | +-- C or W for Camo or White | +------ Squadron number +---------- Pilot NAVnnnv | | | | | +-- C or W for Camo or White | +------- Squadron number +------------ Navigator E.g. PLT074W = Pilot 74 Sqn White Helmet NAV056C = Navigator 56 Sqn Camo Helmet I've also included blank helmet designs in camo and white for Pilots and Navs that have no squadron affiliation. These are PLT|NAV000W|C For info, these skins are 512 x 512 so they're not FPS killers. Hope you like them, regards, Paul T. (comrpnt). Click here to download this file -

File Name: SPF1/WOV/WOE Colour Palettes Reference Document File Submitter: comrpnt File Submitted: 21 Jul 2006 File Category: SF Utilities/Editors Hi folks, I've knocked up a Java program and an HTML doc which helps to illustrate the range of colours available with the game. The HTML doc contains pictures of the colour palette, displayed as a series of panels, with instructions on how to interpret the panels to get the colour you want when specifying RGB values in your LightSets etc. Hope you find this useful. I know I have (nice to see all the colours displayed in one place). Cheers, regards, P.T. :-) Click here to download this file -

A310 MRTT Refuelling Drogue Lights

http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...sst&id=2992 File Name: A310 MRTT Refuelling Drogue Lights File Submitter: comrpnt File Submitted: 18 Jul 2006 File Updated: 8 Feb 2008 File Category: Ini Edits File Version: No Information Website: No Information Hi folks, I've had a go at adding some drogue lights to the A310 MRTT refuelling tanker, to make it more fun to line up during a night tanking exercise. This lights mod is a bit of a hack as when the A310 comes in to land the lights remain visible, but for practice they work pretty well and seem real enough when the A310 is in flight. [Aside] I've still to sort out the best way to get an AI aircraft to turn their lights on or off on-demand via some Lights setting the _data.ini file. If someone comes across the setting or parameter value that enables this in an .ini file then please pass me the details it would be a real bonus for this and my other static aircraft mods. [Mk2 Comments] I updated the original post as I noticed a slight misalignment with the right-side drogue. I've moved the right-side lights across (+X coords) to fix this. Cheers, kind regards, P.T. :-) Click here to download this file -

File Name: WOV Da Nang (Airfield_1) extra lights for buildings & structures File Submitter: comrpnt File Submitted: 15 Jul 2006 File Updated: 15 Sep 2006 File Category: SF Object Mods This is an update to the original posting. Inspiration for this work came mostly from extending the excellent approach lights mod from Sidewinder86 (See here) and also reading up on Eightlein's details on lighting various airfield structures (here). I've extended that work and applied it only to Da Nang. Also see here for details on static/parked aircraft for Da Nang and installing the QRA sheds at the North end of the airfield. [update Info] I noticed that this mod makes heavy use of the ground object modifications I had included in my earlier 'statics' postings. For Da Nang that's fine, but, for all other fields in WOV that use Airfield_1 the lights would still appear, and that looked just plain weird. I've corrected this dependence with this update so you can have the lights only apply to one field. The extra lights entries detailed in this mod all live in a new file called VietnamSEA_Airfield1_DaNang.ini. This file is referenced from the existing "Da Nang Air Base" entry in the VIETNAMSEA_TARGETS.INI file. Simply change this entry to read the following: [TargetArea091] Name=Da Nang Air Base ... AirfieldDataFile=VietnamSEA_Airfield1_DaNang.ini ... The new extra lights in this mod illuminate all of the tall buildings and structures in the airfield vicinity: - ASR Radar dish - QRA Sheds (internal flood lights and external anti-collision lights) - Fuel tanks - Ramp fuel store - Ramp Hangars (external flood lights and anti-collision lights) - Heli-pad for RAF Rescue SH-3 - Water tower - Bomb dumps - Control Tower This mod has only been tested with WOV but with some modifications this mod can be applied to SFP1. If the layout of Airfield_1 is the same then simply changing the names accordingly will enable SFP1 to pick up the changes. See the following forum entry for screenshots of the changes defined below: (http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=2798) I hope you like them. Lightning Mk6 Landing Lights etc.

File Name: Lightning Mk6 Landing Lights etc. File Submitter: comrpnt File Submitted: 9 Jul 2006 File Category: SF Object Mods I'm not sure if this has been done before but I've tweaked the location and colour of some of the lights on Russouk's Lightning Mk6 (hope you don't mind Russ). [Thanks] Many thanks to Russ who created the original aircraft I've used as the basis for my own editing. [What's included] Bascially I've added landing lights to the left and right main gear, and added a bottom stobe -- changing the flash time to slow it down a bit in the process. For the top and bottom strobes I decided to change their colour to red, instead of white as in the original. Regards, P.T. Click here to download this file -

Static fuel truck - engine off (complete)

Mainly because it doesn't make any sound. (Somehow it doesn't feel right to have a fuel truck refuelling aircraft on the ramp with its engine on! -- call me old fashioned) Regards, P.T.
