  4. How the heck did you come up with that?

About 5 years ago during my CFS2 days, I was in the "Zone" (kinda like Hyperlobby but for CFS), had just got home from work and was looking at all the cool names out there, wanted something catchy and was working Nightshift at the time and hence "Nightshifter" was born :)
  5. File Name: Sea Fury VR930 (Ki-84 Skin Hack) File Submitter: 96th_Nightshifter File Submitted: 18 May 2007 File Category: KI-100 / KI-84 Skins I decided to make a complete skin from the ground up for a change; I have made a lot of skins before but have always used someone else's template so this time I wanted to make the whole thing from start to finish. Still into making "Hacked" skins so decided to try and make a "Sea Fury" out of a Ki-84 (inspired by a skin from Carts). This skin should fit all Ki-84 models though I made it for the Ki-84b. Internals are made from a mixture of modified "void" parts, adapted reference images and original internals by Myself. All the rest is my own work. Fully Marked VR930, Roundels only and Unmarked version included. History of the "Sea Fury" is included in the "Read Me" file. Click here to download this file

  7. File Name: Fairey Firefly Early Mk. Skinpack File Submitter: 96th_Nightshifter File Submitted: 12 Mar 2007 File Category: Seafire Skins Fairey Firefly Early Mk. Skinpack A lot of "Faked" parts had to be created for these skins - some are very subtle whereas some are slightly more obvious. There are 20 skins in total in this pack (all historical). I could have went on to included non marked versions but felt it was too much, if anyone wants a no marked version it can be arranged (note that in game markings will not work properly on these skins as they would overlap the "faked" windows on the fuselage. Stick this in both of your "Seafire" skin folders and you are ready to go. Template created by "Fly By Shooter" with elements from "Jesters Ink" and Myself original template was made for the MKVIII Spitfire so I have now adapted this to fit the Seafire and added my own faked parts, panel lines and weathering to it. Brief info on each aircraft is included. Regards, 96th_Nightshifter The Firefly was designed as a fleet reconnaissance aircraft for the UK's Royal Navy, and was derived from the Fairey Fulmar. First flown on 22 December 1941, the first versions were delivered in March 1943 to RNAS Yeovilton. The main version of the aircraft used during WWII was the Mk.1, which was used in all theaters of operation. Throughout its operational career, it took on increasingly more demanding roles, from fighter to anti-submarine warfare. Main variants included the F1 (with a 1,990-hp Griffon XII engine); FR1 (with an ASH radar underneath the engine); NF2 {night-fighter); Mk.IV (with new outer wing nacelles carrying fuel and an ASH scanner); the FR4, with a two-stage supercharged engine and wing root radiators in place of the earlier "chin-mounted" ones; the AS5 (with new American sonobuoys); TT5 and TT6 (target tugs); and T7 (Anti-Submarine Warfare trainer). After WWII, the Firefly remained in service in both the UK and Australia, flying anti-ship missions off various aircraft carriers in the Korean War and serving in the ground-attack role in Malaya. In 1956, the Firefly's frontline career ended with the introduction of the Fairey Gannet. Click here to download this file

  9. File Name: Spitfire Mk.XVI TD248 & Spitfire Mk.XIVe RN201 Skinpack File Submitter: 96th_Nightshifter File Submitted: 27 Nov 2006 File Category: Spitfire Skins Full History of each plane included in the read me files in the download. Spitfire TD248 This skin is for the above mentioned aircraft and though we don't have a MKXVI Spitfire in the game the real plane closely resembles the MKIX that we do have access to so this is what I chose to use. I finished this a while ago and something about it was really annoying to me - the real plane has a bubble canopy (which we don't have access to in the game) so after a week or so I decided to see if I could make the skin "look" like it has a bubble canopy - it turned out reasonably well so I'm now happy to share it. This skin has been built to be used for the Mk.IX varients - it should fit them all except for the clipped wings as the lower wing roundels will get cut in half if you use it on them. Sub note: this skin may also fit the MKVb varients (not Vc) with little difference so you may as well try it in those folders as well. This skin was built using Fly By Shooters awesome MKVb template which I have adapted to fit the MKIX and added a few bits and bobs of my own. Spitfire RN201 This skin is for the above mentioned aircraft and though we don't have a MKXIVe Spitfire in the game the real plane closely resembles the MKVIII (CW version) that we do have access to so this is what I chose to use. The only real difference in how it looks physically is that the real plane has a 5 bladed prop whereas we only have the use of 4 and also the real plane (having a Griffon engine) has distinctive raised elongated bulges just above the overhead valves which I have tried to fake onto the actual skin. Stick this in your "SpitfireMkVIIICLP" skin folder and you are ready to go - note that it will more than likely fit the standard MKVIII as well so you may as well put it in that folder too. No Markings version included. Template created by "Fly By Shooter" with elements from "Jesters Ink" and Myself. Note to any skinners that have ever skinned a MK.IX - think for a second how much frustration I went through to get that red line along the fuselage of the TD248 skin lol. 12. File Name: MV293 and MV268 MK.XIV Skinpack File Submitter: 96th_Nightshifter File Submitted: 21 Nov 2006 File Category: Spitfire Skins Serial #: MV293 & Mv268 Model: FR Mk. XIV Status: Airworthy These skins are for the above mentioned aircrafts and though we don't have a MKXIV Spitfire in the game the real plane closely resembles the MKVIII (CW version) that we do have access to so this is what I chose to use. The only real difference in how it looks physically is that the real plane (having a Griffon engine) has distinctive raised elongated bulges just above the overhead valves which I have tried to fake onto the actual skin. The real plane also has a bubble canopy which I have also tried to fake onto the skin - it's not perfect as it's just not possible but from the right angle it works well enough. Stick these in your "SpitfireMkVIIICLP" skin folder and you are ready to go - note that they will more than likely fit the standard MKVIII as well so you may as well put it in that folder too.
