It's a bit late in the day and I might be misunderstanding all this but it seems to me that you haven't UNZIPPED the skins to a folder before attempting to install them. Unzip 1st then search for them with the skin installer package , if you haven't already done this ofc.

Wishing you the VERY best of luck mate , let us know how you do.

File Name: IDF Typhoon File Submitter: Deadhead File Submitted: 23 May 2008 File Updated: 24 May 2008 File Category: Fictional and What If? A fictional Typhoon in Israeli service , based on the Netz Camo scheme. Far from perfect but I don't have time to really finish it just now . If anyone wants to improve on it feel free I've included a skin of the panel lines and I've labelled the parts as well as I can. It really needs a good set of Decals to finish it off but I'm lost when it comes to that though I've done the best I can. Please let me know if I've forgotten anything in the readme ( I usually do ). I used only the skins in the model of the Typhoon as the base , all the rest is my fault lol. P.S. The Typhoon model and presumably the skins were created by Craigbrierly ofc. much kudos Craig ( and anyone else who MAY have been involved ) Click here to download this file

I know I'll be told to check the WIP but I just wondered if there's any update on progress with the Bucc ? And also how's that excellent looking Bear doing ? When they arrive it'll be like Christmas in my house lol -
Typhoon Camo Skin
Deadhead posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Just thought I'd let you all see the Camo Typhoon skin I'm trying (desperately) to make. It's nowhere near perfect , and probably never will be hehe , but I just started it for fun and a bit of a challenge. It looks ok in flight but close up its a bit of a mess. -
Hi all , I guess this is a noob's question and I know I should be able to work this out but I need help plz. I haven't played F4AF for a long while but recently I started playing again , the problem I have is that after being in combat I am unable to get back to Nav mode properly , the best I can do is go to Guns/Strafe mode ,but i seem to remember there was a keypress or key combo that returned you to Nav mode(at least in the original F4 there was). Can someone tell me how do I do this now (after all the patches I guess it might have changed0 or point me in the right direction to find the info I want? Thx if you can.

Thank you thank you thank you. I've just tried your advice Preacher and it works , CHEERS. However I found that (on my keyboard at least ) it was Shift+Ins= AA , Sh=Del=AG and Sh+Enter=Nav mode , but you pointed me in the right direction and I'm very grateful to you and to all who tried their best to help me. Thanks again all.

Thx for the advice guys but this still doesn't manage to get me back to Nav mode , Ive tried the things you said and nothing works , I guess it might be a problem with my install maybe. I can press C to get out of Missile and Dogfight modes but pressing AA or AG does nothing. I'll just adapt to the situation so plz don't rack your brains trying to come up with fixes. Thanks again for helping it's much appreciated.

pic of a British aircraft in development
Deadhead replied to Bongodriver's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
WOW! TSR2 , I can't wait for this one. TSR2 was reputed to be 10-15 years ahead of its time in the areas of Radar , Weapons control etc. I've read that it was the equal of the Tornado in respect to low level flight/attack and I remember being disgusted at the time ( though I WAS young then) that the Government cancelled it and later ordered then cancelled the F-111 and then bought the Phantom , which had a different role altogether to TSR2. Most British aircraft buffs of the time still feel the same way. -
Very sad indeed but one thing puzzles me , one of the reports says that the sail of Kursk was damaged in the alleged collision but looking at the photos of there doesn't appear to be any damage to the sail although the photos of this area are not extensive.

Help! I lost my weapons.
Deadhead posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Ok , I know I'm stupid and I should be able to work this out , but please can someone tell me what I did wrong and how to put it right ( call me a noob too if you like :)) I recently downloaded the latest weapons pack and read the instructions on how to install it , I then left it for a few days and then the other day I tried to do the install. I was sure I followed the instructions carefully but obviously I managed to muck it up because now I have NO weapons at all to use. I have tried doing a reinstall of the weaps pack to no avail and I have extracted the original weapons data file but again no joy. The pack seemed to install correctly and I used the weapons editor to merge the 2 data files. How can I get at least the original weapons back without having to do a full re-install of the game? Someone save me PLEASE. -
Help! I lost my weapons.
Deadhead replied to Deadhead's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Thx for the speedy reply Wrench You're a genius. I deleted the Gun data files then had a look in the weaps folder where I found an Icon for a previous Weapon pack , which I thought was kinda weird but anyway , I reinstalled this one and now everything's fine. Thanks again. -
How to use my F15 skins
Deadhead posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
It seems I have caused some confusion with my uploads of F15 skins so I am going to try to repair the Damage. First of all these skins are to be used with the F15C and F15E models downloadable from the Add-on aircraft section of Combat Ace which were created by Wpnssgt , I don't know if they'll work with any of the amendments to these files. Secondly I said that skins for the F15C could be used with the F15E model but I didn't explain the method for doing this , so (hopefully) this will explain what needs to be done. O.k. say you want to use the F15C Desert skin on the F15E. 1st. you create a folder in the Objects/Aircraft/F15E folder of WoE , name this folder Desert. Next copy ALL the files from any of your F15E skin folders (including the Decal folder) to your new F15E/Desert folder. Next , assuming you already have an F15C Desert skin installed , you must copy the files F15C-01 , F15C-02 and Texture Set to anywhere convenient (NOT a skin folder please) and change the names to F15E-01 and F15E-02 . DON'T rename Texture Set. You then copy the 3 files (including Texture Set) into your F15E/Desert folder replacing files when asked. You then need to copy the contents of Texture Set into the F15E configuration settings in the F15E folder and renumber to the next in sequence , so that if it's the 3rd skin in this folder it becomes Texture Set 003. Save all changes , load up WoE and you should be able to choose a nice Desert skin for your Strike Eagle missions. I hope you can all understand this explanation , I think it's easier to do than explain , but then I've done it before. -
