  1. WAVs in the FlightData.CAT arent locked.
  2. Since i cant really play SF2 with this backup GPU i've been working on some things, Long story short, Im trying to use an Emitter as a Point Light, Right now I can place them, but Im having trouble with the Material/Texture. When in game, the single TGA Particle flickers between 3 sizes, and the TGA does not show up correctly in the game. now, I know how to make a transparent TGA, but it seems since switching to my new system, photo shop no longer wants to do that, every TGA is either a White square or not transparent and faded. so, what photoshop setting can cause a 32-bit TGA to lose transparency? also, the Emmitter side, how can I get the single Particle TGA to remain steady (no flickering). and is there a way to control the spread of the lightsource without having to make it insanely bright? once i get back to my PC i'll post the emmitter and material settings I have and a video.
  3. Back up

i guess the aliens finally got bored with the combatace server and returned it to earth...
  4. or make it available only to people that are known Modders,
  5. i call it Comm Building-X X Stands for XEROX COPY.
  6. Battlefield 3 re uses the same 5 buildings on all their maps :p
  7. - A Mirage F1 - A few bugs - A few things disabled or removed that were present in previous titles.
  8. in 2025, you'll still be waiting for TW's Ipad game.
  9. <raises hand for being here since the beginning>. The routine of: its broken, lets lock it out, disable it, delete it and leave markers/residual files or remove it all together instead of fixing it, seems to have taken over, while things the modders ask for to make a better game get ignored, and little things that arent needed or prolly even used get time and resources in the dev cycle. example, the new terrain engine, seriously, aside from the reflective water and the smoothed mountains, the terrain is just boring, it uses more resources for what? smoother hills?, there's no textures, its all shader based, so custom textures are removed, everything is 3d based so there is no transition as transition between polygons doesn't exist. water is water, land is land, no transition, no beach, and no way to even add those details via texturing. The original Terrain engine, with an increased height map resolution, ability to slap the new shader effects on textures and a tool to place objects would have been a better use of resources. Still ships have no lighting outside of 3rd party intervention, planes dont have strobes, shadows arent dithered/blurred/soft. but the tree's draw distance was crippled because of a render priority issue, then further crippled when laptops and low end Video cards couldn't handle the horizon distance. people running low end rigs outside of the requirements envelope got priority over the modding community trying to make the title better and TW started disabling and locking stuff to allow low end machines to continue to run the titles. Locking the LOD-CATs was for the best intentions, but it isnt doing nothing but making the pirates laugh and the modders bang the heads against their screen/wall/keyboards. Meanwhile DCS World is coming, which is already gathering some of the upper echelon FSX Studios that would like to take their work to the next level by adding weapons and damage models. SkateZillaHD Studios has also been approached by other studios moving to DCS World's platform, about also making stuff for DCS World. Flaming Cliffs 3 is also on the way.
  10. F-22 making pilots sick

yeah, i made that statement before my morning Dr. Pepper, brain wasnt running 100% yet. The USAF Facebook page deleted my comments when i mentioned how the F-22 issues are starting to resemble the General Dynamics Cover up of the F-16 problems and Ted Harduvel.
  11. F-22 making pilots sick

Problem is that they are watching O2, and not CO.
  12. F-22 making pilots sick

have you tried moving around a F-22 pit wearing winter gear and night vision goggles/HMD. Discovery channel or aviation channel or military channel had a 1 hours special on the the crash after the findings were released, they re-created the crash in a 3d render, and they re-enacted what the report said the pilot experienced, and the Mock pilot had a hard time reaching between his side panel and the seat to get to the emerg. O2 ring wearing the winter combat gloves.
  13. F-22 making pilots sick

$50 its a technical issue. Wire Chaffing leads to failure of XXXX Daughterboard on the left wing, which leads to failure in bleed vent hydraulics, which leads to master caution on the oxygen, which leads to OBOGS Failure Light, which leads to Carbon Monoxide in the Mask tube, which leads to hypoxia like symptoms, which leads to pilot becoming disoriented which leads to another investigation. (that was a sarcastic chain if you thought I was trying to be serious.) I remember reading the report from the F-22 crash in Alaska, they blamed the pilot on every turn, but never even remotely answered why Oxygen system lights and warnings started going off at a random time of the flight, which led up to the maneuvering and crash. They blamed the pilot for not keeping focus about his position and orientation in the air etc etc. but I seriously don’t think they know what the pilot was breathing during that time. The Bleed Air warnings and crap don’t go off randomly for no reason, something failed and exhaust was vented into the OBOGS or cockpit, and the System detected it. The only thing they can blame the pilot for is not pulling the emergency oxygen ring and the ejection handle. Once he breathed the contaminated oxygen enough he was disoriented and prolly passed out at one point due to maneuvers he was doing.

The exhaust bleed into the OBOGS is still an Issue.
  15. Did you see my last post on the 1st page?
  16. hrm, google translate wont translate that image, lemme send a bug report to google for some $$$, thanks for helping me get a $5 check.
  17. OK Eyefinity Peoples Here's My Setup: Creating the Eyefinity: 1. Create Eyefinity Group 2. Give Center Screen the Deferred (minimizing center screen tearing) 3. Set Triple Buffering 4. Force VSync ON. (i still get some tearing on the left screen, but im running everything maxed and it likes to dip from 60 Fr/Sec to 45 when panning). Configuring Strike Fighters 2: (if you have a Custom Viewlist.ini, Skip to Step 7) 5. Extract the Viewlist from the FlightDATA.CAT 6. Place Viewlist.ini in <C:/Users/<UserName>/Saved Games/Thirdwire/<StrikeFighers2 Game Folder>/Flight/> Folder 7. Open Viewlist.ini, Goto ViewClass2, OffsetDistance=0.06 To Change OffsetDistance=-.175, Also Change MaxFOV to 240 8. Repeat for ViewClass3 if you want the Snap Views to be pulled back as well. 9. Launch Strike Fighters 2 10. Goto Options 11. Goto Graphics 12. Choose the Eyefinity Resolution from the Drop Down Menu. 13. Choose the Aspect Ratio Of Your Center Monitor (16:9, 16:10, whatever, disregard what i said earlier about changing aspect ratio and resolution in the Options.ini). 14. Start a Single Mission and Test. My Aspect Ratio is Set to "WideScreen: 16:9", with a Resolution of 5760x1080. All set from the options screen. In 3 Screens Mode, if i change the Aspect Ratio in the Options.ini your face is against the windscreen and everything is stretched vertically. This is what I got right now for my Cockpit View: Compared to Normal Single Screen:
  18. A Few more: (I got the aspect ratio issue fixed, just working on a way to fix pit FOV). Also need to do bezel correction, but i dont want it to mess up my screenshots :)
  19. the settings for 3x1 eyefinity have definately changed, i will post a guide soon, as soon as i activate the 3rd screen in the group with the above settings i get what you got Aggressor Blue. I got the Aspect Ratio Part fixed, just working on the Pit FOV/Zoom.
  20. best way to do it, is make all new hidden categories that only admins can see, and start filtering them 1 by 1 into their categories, then make them public when your done. i did this for another site, and we had to disable uploads and it took about 2 weeks, we used some off/custom version of PHP-Nuke though.
  21. So creating new categories and moving downloads based on download id kills the site??
  22. i dunno, i'd rather have install files instead of steam hiding them away from me. :)
  23. Buy on Steam, download from DCS, use Steam code to authenticate.
