I managed to have a nearly fully functional Bpao Tomcat F-14A in Strike Fighters 2 - copied F-14A folder to \My Documents\Thirdwire\Strike Fighters 2\Objects\Aircraft --> OK - copied the sounds folder to \My Documents\Thirdwire\Strike Fighters 2\Sounds --> all OK - copied pilot and seat files to \My Documents\Thirdwire\Strike Fighters 2\Objects\Aircraft --> OK - extracted F-4E pit instruments, panels and generic instruments from WOE Objectdata.cat and copied them to \My Documents\Thirdwire\Strike Fighters 2\Objects\Aircraft\F-14A\cockpit --> now original Bpao Tomcat cockpit also fully functional - copied effects to \My Documents\Thirdwire\Strike Fighters 2\Effects --> unfortunately these do not work - so I adjusted the effects in F-14A_data.ini to point to standard SF2 effects - copied weapons to \My Documents\Thirdwire\Strike Fighters 2\Objects\Weapons --> cannot work at the moment since we have no clue how to add weapons in SF2 yet. But then, as expected, the F-14A is a joy to fly in SF2! -

I know one thing for sure: the comm building got owned today. Six years after I first took the air in Strike Fighters P1, this was the day of retribution. It was going to be me against the comm building. We had some unfinished business left. All these patches, versions and virtual years later, it was still there waiting. Shack! -

I have some issues with 3th party cockpits. Bpao Tomcat F-14A gives white zones, same for MF F-16A. MF A-7E has nearly OK cockpit, but HUD is corrupted. Anyone else has these issues? I have Nvidia card, on high or unlimited settings. -

I copied my F-14A folder from WOE, and pasted it in \My Documents\ThirdWire<Strike Fighters 2\Objects\Aircraft Plane is there, I have 100% correct loadout screen; I can fly it; I can use rader and fire missiles; BUT there is a problem with the cockpit, since the F-14A mod used a lot of stuff from the old Phantom pit. I will look into how I can fix this. Effects are gone of course, and I do not knwo where I have to put the effects now (no effects folder?) Maybe I just have to add an effects folder in the My Documents Thirdwire folder? -

Indeed, to me this has nothing to do with a new game (there are enough of them, I'm playing Black Shark and Aerosoft F-16 at the moment), it has everything to do with nostalgia. Strike Fighters is a monument in FlightSim history. Being able to play that very game, so smoothly, on a brand new Vista PC with widescreen and DX10, that really is some re-enactment for me. The original game left, euhhhm, to say the least, a big window of opportunities te get better. But those who weren't already immediately fell in love with the Phantom. Strike Fighters 2 has all the magic of that first release and stays true to the original gameplay. It only has todays technology and all small glitches ironed out. -

This really is a Xmas bargain! I find it very nice in particular to have a re-release of Strike Fighters, since that was the first Flightsim I ever bought. Since then, I must have almost anything that flies on a PC, but SF still has this special meaning to me! The Phantoms are truly superb, and I got myself in a staggering uncontrolled spin right away, so the flight models have greatly improved. -
I made a new WOE movie, this time with F-15A is some fast action: Hope you like it!

I 100% agree this sim has become SO good! I know its a modders sim but I did the unthinkable and installed WOI, WOE and WOV from scratch and applied september patch just to have the factory feeling: woooooooowwwwwwwww!!!!!! The flight models of Phantom, F-15, F-16, KFir, Mirage etc. are just incredible! A top notch sim, no doubt about it! -

With the increased quality of the Flight Models, I feel we come in bad need for being able to trim the aircraft. This is specially the case with the Phantom, an aircraft that needs to be flown by trim. Now that the FM is so good (it is just fantastic imho), I really need to trim. OK, TK has built in some autotrim so that you do not have to trim to obtain horizontal flight, but when you get an assymmetric payload after launching a heavy weapon, it is needed badly. Trim would also make the difference in flight experience between the leading edge slats Phantom versions and the others more pronounced.

I wonder why they just didn't split the deal? It is large enough, and many civilian carriers have mixed fleets. One advantage is when there is a problem with one type, you still have the other.

Yes, it works! Thanks for the link. You do not even have to change the default.ini since you can assign a personalized control.ini file.

I cannot pinpoint it, but the game is so incredibly good with this patch! Is it just me or are there indeed also improvements in the atmosphere / sound environment? Anyway heater fights in the clouds with F-15/F-16 are just waaaawwww! -

OFMG: a comfort capsule anyone? He guys, USAF top brass has come up with yet another smart idea: http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/07/24/opi.../edairforce.php This really is becoming a comedy series. If it wants to stay airborne, USAF needs some new leadership fast, imho. Hundreds of capable airmen are ready to take their place. How on earth did this kinda leadership emerge? Were they beamed in from outer space? Maybe there was a comfort capsule aboard the Roswell spacecraft already?

carrier action in WOI?

He guys, maybe I missed out on some discussions, but I tried to add DO's carrier to WOI. Everything work fine, except I cannot take off. When I release brakes, everything goes bananas. In WOE, I do not have this problem. So, is there a carrier issue with WOI I do not know about? Should I ciopy the CVA carrier from WOE files to WOI? I cannot imagine the Middle east scenery without a carrier presence in the Gulf, no?
