AAC F-4E (for WoV & WoE) This texture and decal pack was made at the request of Rick1, who served in the AAC. The skin depicts the F-4Es assigned to the 21st TFW in the late ‘70s. The 21st TFW was under the Alaskan Air Command and, at the time, had two tactical flying units, namely, the 18th and the 43rd TFS (markings included for both units). See instructions and credits in the attached readme. Texture resolution is 1024x1024. Have fun! Blade -

Sorry for keeping you waiting, been a bit busy. I finished the skin today. I tried to upload it but I'm having some connection issues, so it failed. I will upload it again as soon as I find a decent internet access. :) -

Wow. Sounds exciting. Thank you for the answer. Tweaking won't be a problem (maybe I'll release it for both SF1 and 2), it just takes some time. I'll try to get to it ASAP. Now that's a brilliant idea! Bl. -

Great pix! I wanted to make the polar bear version with the blue rudder and fincap (IIRC 18th TFS), but couldn't find a clear and close up image of it. Please write a book!!! I'd definitely buy it. (I mean it.) :) The skin is currently SF2. I think some minor modification needs to be done beacuse of mapping differences between the old and the new F-4E models (and some slight decal corrections are needed as well). Anyway, the skin will be uploaded within a few days. Bl. PS: May I ask what your job was in the AAC? -

Hi Rick, So far this is what I have: 18th TFS, 21st TFW (late '70s) 43rd TFS, 21st TFW (late '70s) Pictures of AAC F-4Es are quite hard to come by (so far I've seen only a dozen or so). If you have any pictures to share (or any stories to tell) from your time in the AAC, please post them. Thank you. Bl. -

Hi, If you give me a couple of days, I can make the decals (and use the stock camo skin). BTW, which game (1st or 2nd gen) do you have? Bl. -

It's good to know that you're still working on improving the details, thank you. I really like your detailed parts (and models), my favourite is the correct undernose RHAW fairing on the F-4D. (Shame that it can't be repainted, so I can't use it on my Hill Grey F-4Ds, but I can't have it all, can I?) :) Like I said above, I have the TMF ARNie F-4E and it's really a masterpiece. But I also like fiddling with my little mods (mainly skins and decals), that was the reason why I dared to ask about these parts. Thank you for your answer (and your mods). Bl. -

Thank you, I know about them (and I have them). But ever since I bought SF2E I've been continuously amazed by the detail level of the stock Phantoms (especially the redesigned CM dispensers on the inboard pylons), so I decided to make my own ARNie F-4E based on the F-4E_78 (provided that these parts will ever be available). Hi Mike, I'm curious to know (therefore I am HUMBLY asking) if you still plan to make these (I'm especially interested in the TISEO and the ARN-101 spine fairing). Thank you. Bl. -
Razorback F-4C in Egypt I Scheme
Blade posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
File Name: Razorback F-4C in Egypt I Scheme File Submitter: Blade File Submitted: 07 Mar 2010 File Category: F-4 Phantom II Skins Razorback F-4C in Egypt I Scheme (for SFP1, WoV & WoE) This skin depicts an F-4C of the 184th TFS (aka the 'Flying Razorbacks'), painted in the Egypt I scheme. At least one plane of this squadron (the MiG killer 64-0748) wore this livery in 1988-89. The 184th TFS is assigned to the Arkansas ANG. They flew the F-4C from 1979. Extract the 'Objects' folder and copy it directly into your game directory. Now, hopefully, you can select the skin in the loadout menu within the game. Thanks to: Drdoyo for his F-4E template; Bobrock for the weathering layers I borrowed from his F-104G template; Mppd & Sundowner for some skin details (cockpit inside and exhaust area). Hi Guys, The pack is uploaded and waiting for approval. For now, it is for the 1st gen games, but I plan to modify it to work with the SF2 F-4C_67. I hope I'll find the time to do that. Thank you for your interest. Bl. -

Blade replied to amariani's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hi, I'm happy that you like my little teaser. I made this skin some time ago for the 1st gen (SFP1, WoV & WoE) F-4C. It hasn't been released, because some skin details were borrowed from others' (mppd's & Sundowner's) works. If you get me Sundowner's approval (mppd states in his readmes that 'we are free to use any of his art', so I guess no permission is needed from him), I can upload it for you and for anyone interested. Anyway, the skin is 1024x1024 and based on Drdoyo's template. -

You should try. I cannot depict the amazement what I felt after my first successful trap. Thank you, you'd make me real happy. Sadly, I don't think I have either the time or the inclination (let alone the skills) to 'get into the 3D business', so I'll be waiting patiently for you and the other big guys. I am familiar with all but one of these expressions. Would you be so kind to let me know what ADSID is? Thanks, Bl.
