  1. File Name: Razorback F-4C in Egypt I Scheme File Submitter: Blade File Submitted: 07 Mar 2010 File Category: F-4 Phantom II Skins Razorback F-4C in Egypt I Scheme (for SFP1, WoV & WoE) This skin depicts an F-4C of the 184th TFS (aka the 'Flying Razorbacks'), painted in the Egypt I scheme. At least one plane of this squadron (the MiG killer 64-0748) wore this livery in 1988-89. The 184th TFS is assigned to the Arkansas ANG. They flew the F-4C from 1979. Extract the 'Objects' folder and copy it directly into your game directory. Now, hopefully, you can select the skin in the loadout menu within the game. Thanks to: Drdoyo for his F-4E template; Bobrock for the weathering layers I borrowed from his F-104G template; Mppd & Sundowner for some skin details (cockpit inside and exhaust area). Phantoms phorever! Blade Click here to download this file
  2. Hi Guys, The pack is uploaded and waiting for approval. For now, it is for the 1st gen games, but I plan to modify it to work with the SF2 F-4C_67. I hope I'll find the time to do that. Thank you for your interest. Bl.

  4. Hi, I'm happy that you like my little teaser. I made this skin some time ago for the 1st gen (SFP1, WoV & WoE) F-4C. It hasn't been released, because some skin details were borrowed from others' (mppd's & Sundowner's) works. If you get me Sundowner's approval (mppd states in his readmes that 'we are free to use any of his art', so I guess no permission is needed from him), I can upload it for you and for anyone interested. Anyway, the skin is 1024x1024 and based on Drdoyo's template.

  7. You should try. I cannot depict the amazement what I felt after my first successful trap. Thank you, you'd make me real happy. Sadly, I don't think I have either the time or the inclination (let alone the skills) to 'get into the 3D business', so I'll be waiting patiently for you and the other big guys. I am familiar with all but one of these expressions. Would you be so kind to let me know what ADSID is? Thanks, Bl.
  8. BTW, what I tried to imply a few posts before was that to me you seemed to be much more interested in USAF Phantoms, I didn't mean to question your knowledge about naval birds. Bl.

  10. Hi again, I just don't understand why you're saying this... Anyway, I know that these things are really hard to learn and I appreciate your hard work put into perfecting the F-4C/D. That was the reason why I gathered all my courage to ask you, because, for me, the DECM fairings of the F-4J/N are something like the correct LEFs and RHAW gear of the F-4C/D for you. Been missing these for a loooong time... Sundowner's post above has given me new hope, so I'm busy waiting. Thanks and sorry for bothering. Bl.
  11. Now that's good to know. Thank you and keep it up.
  12. Hi Mike, You seem to be into AF Phantoms rather than USN/USMC birds, but seeing the things you managed to accomplish gave me an idea. I don't have the tools and the skills to realize it (otherwise I'd do it myself), so I'm asking you. Would you be so kind - of course only if you happen to have some free time and some inclination - to build the DECM fairings located on the intakes of the later F-4J (shorter fairing) and the F-4N (longer fairing)? I hope you give a thought to my humble request. Otherwise sorry for bothering. Bl.
  13. Hope this helps. http://www.rafweb.org/SqnMark039.htm (You can find the Canberras at the bottom of the page, though there are no serials listed... )
  14. Here is a picture to illustrate that:
  15. Just an idea: check if there are lines starting with "DiameterLimit=" or similar in the AIM-7 station entries. (And a note in brackets: the F-4S (and B/J/N) had the chaff and flare dispensers on the top of the rear fuselage, unlike in the case of USAF Phantoms, which had them on the rear part of the innerwing pylons.)
  16. Been playing with the Chaparral recently and had similar issues. I tried fiddling with the missile's parameters, and increasing the field of view seemed to solve the problem (or at least increased the frequency of missile launches). Perhaps an increased FOV (40-50 degrees) is no too historically correct for the Chaparral, but at least it seems to work now... IIRC the SA-8 explodes because of a misplaced missile. When the launcher fires that missile it basically "hits itself" with it and explodes. Try checking the missile positions in the launcher's data.ini. And, IIRC, in case of the HAWK, the culprit is an incorrect hitbox. Try to change (i.e. decrease) the Min and MaxExtentPositions in the launchers data.ini.
  17. The AN/ALQ-99 is the one used on the Prowlers. The one in the pic above IMHO is an AN/ALQ-131 Self Protection Jammer Pod. http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/equip/an-alq-131.htm

Yes, XWA is moddable. You can add new craft, missions, campaigns and there are total conversion packs as well.
  20. The first Armee de l'Air Super Sabre arrived in France on May 1, 1958. (Taken from http://home.att.net/~jbaugher1/f100_9.html)
  21. Hi, IIRC the Fury included in Taiwan Straits 1958 ALL-INCLUSIVE Campaign Mod is equipped with a virtual tailhook.
  22. It can be done. Unfortunately I cannot recall whose idea it is orignally, but it is possible to have multiple droptanks on the same station. Here is what you should do: Insert the following data under the last weapon station in the a/c's data.ini: [LeftWingStationWetSilver] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=X StationGroupID=3 StationType=EXTERNAL AttachmentPosition=-3.27,-2.62,-0.18 AttachmentAngles=0.0,-5.0,0.0 LoadLimit=1600 AllowedWeaponClass=FT AttachmentType=USAF ModelNodeName= PylonMass=108.41 PylonDragArea=0.06 FuelTankName=TANK450_F105S ShowFromCockpit=TRUE [RightWingStationWetSilver] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=X+1 StationGroupID=3 StationType=EXTERNAL AttachmentPosition=3.27,-2.62,-0.18 AttachmentAngles=0.0,-5.0,0.0 LoadLimit=1600 AllowedWeaponClass=FT AttachmentType=USAF ModelNodeName= PylonMass=108.41 PylonDragArea=0.06 FuelTankName=TANK450_F105S ShowFromCockpit=TRUE Check the StationID of the last weapon station and renumber the two StationIDs (marked red) accordingly. The StationGroupIDs should remain unchanged. Finally find the components that lists the original LeftWingStationWet and RightWingStationWet as systems (should be the inner or the outer wings) and at the bottom of each section add the following lines: SystemName[XXX]=LeftWingStationWetSilver and SystemName[XXX]=RightWingStationWetSilver The 'XXX' entries should be replaced with the next number in line. Now you are done. Well, it may seem confusing (sorry, I'm away from home right now, so I cannot be more specific), but I hope it helps.
  23. Hi, IIRC it is an AI-only plane by default, so you have to assign a cockpit to it to make it flyable.
