Iranian F-4 and IL-76 mid air back in 09'
JediMaster replied to MAKO69's topic in Military and General Aviation
The A-50 is Russia's version. Other countries have taken the 76 and made their own conversions which have nothing to do with Beriev and are therefore not A-50s. Sort of like Israel's 707 AWACS isn't an E-3 because it uses Phalcon radar and not the rotodome on top. -
If you're getting close, switch to dogfight mode and use one of the auto aquisition modes like boresight to lock him up, especially if you can already padlock him. It's not ideal, but it gives you something.

Are the bases those planes were at before now overrun by the enemy? If you're getting pushed off the peninsula it would make sense that there would be fewer bases for the planes.

Am I the only one who had no clue who this guy was?

I was thinking more that a certain part of the hind anatomy of a man may reincarnate into a full human...

It's my first as a father of 2 (she's only 2 months) and also the first where my oldest can actually make things for me so it was a very special day for me.

Just because they're not used in combat anymore doesn't mean they don't make good FSTs to use against SAM radars, AA radars, missile seekers, etc. We don't have really any stealthy drones available for that, nor a spare F-22, B-2, or F-35 lying around. All you need is to keep the thing flying and stealthy (no need for other mission equipment to work) and you've got a great tool. Since the plane was a hybrid of existing plane parts, like Hornet engines minus AB's, I can't imagine it's that pricey to fly other than maintaining the stealth coating (the 117's Achilles heel).

unlimited demo for Rise of Flight now available.

Internet access needed for career and MP, not for quick or single missions. Not sure about the campaigns. -
I tried AA several times over the years but could never get into it.

What's wrong with the tennis visor look?

But that won't give a retiree access to the BX or the gym or library!

New Vid Card Test
JediMaster replied to Dave's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I also just picked up a 570, but I've not had the time to try A-10C yet. A bit of SF2, Il-2, a lot of RoF, and my racing sims, but I've not tried A-10 since the new patch. -
What? Don't go in for Services?!? Don't you mean "Force Support"? :) Besides, what can be better than making people ID cards?!?

She sounds like the chick from Chasing Amy and other Kevin Smith flicks. Ugh.

It is funny though that they spend all this money on troops and machines and then fail to buy enough munitions to fight more than a few weeks. Eternal optimism?

May 11 updates out now!

Doing B-17 bomber intercepts in 262s at 10k was ridiculous, you had to go high. In fact, most of the late war planes were made for that. Also, if you were in a 51 you did better high, that bird wasn't made for sea level scraps. Of course, none of those planes were in the original design document, unfortunately, so the game just never was right up there. -

I didn't know the 44 had contrarotating props like the Bear. -

You mean the Aces Expansion Pack for Il-2:FB? Yeah, high alt flight was very disappointing in Il-2, it was always better to stay under 10k ft or risk noticing the Earth has the diameter of the Moon. -
Oh, is that all? I thought this was supposed to be some sort of "big" update!

Actually, the single largest killer of Americans are...Americans in cars. Many are "own goals", some are passengers killed by the one they allowed to drive them, but others are just innocent bystanders who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. More are killed by that every year than every soldier we've lost in the past decade combined, and unlike those soldiers they died for nothing. So look at the restrictions placed on getting and keeping a driver's license compared to those for flying on an airplane. It's enough to make me decide to drive halfway across the US rather than fly. Even before the TSA it was safer to fly than drive, but that wasn't good enough. I just don't accept that the goal must be zero. It's not possible. What really bugs me is all the changes that have been made even afterwards. Shoes. Liquids. They try something once and forever after we're stuck with a new restriction? Then airlines charging for bags. I like to fly. I despise airports and their so-called security. If possible, I will never fly again.

Converting Oil to Jet Fumes...

Still better than the F-16 which will become a death trap. -
LOL, Jon Stewart claimed those were NOT pics of him because he knew him 20 years ago when they shared a beach house with some other friends. He said "no, that's not him!" This is a guy with such a complex about his size that he's going to claim that pic is him rather than say he's innocent!

I'd like to not live in fear. Unfortunately, the US Gov't won't allow it. I'd like the TSA abolished and a return to pre-9-11 security measures. If we lose an airliner or two a year, too bad. There's no way to be 100% safe, but it is possible to make security so bad that you're basically immobilized and the enemy wins by default. My threshold is 10,000. If fewer than 10,000 people a year are killed by terrorists, we can keep things as is.

Many of these so-called Third World countries have crap for an AF but a formidable ADA network. Syria is rumored to have SA-17s and 22s. You can bet Israel wants F-35s to let them operate closer to those guys than their F-16s will let them.
