DCS: A-10C Warthog--Final Release!
JediMaster replied to JediMaster's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Yeah, they just don't talk about them much! I'm not sure exactly when I'll be getting it, likely in a week or so. Then I anticipate a Black Shark-esque learning curve! -
They're not that geologically active historically, are there? I can't recall hearing of any in NZ before this recent bout.

Just remember this--military logic was created by following directives from civilian logic.

Merging Games FB+AEP+PF vs 1946

The 4.10 and 4.101 patches are also out. -
Don't say that! My daughter loves ducks, you'll upset her! All I see are the idiots talking on their cellphones while driving home in front of me.

Papa's got a brand new bag phone!

Ditto. I had little interest in the HP and Gotha because I almost never fly those big bombers. If they'd been included free in the game I doubt I'd have put an hour into the air with both combined, to pay for them made no sense. Whether in Il-2, CFS3, any of TK's sims, whatever, I just dislike being a target. The one exception was MPS old B-17 Flying Fortress almost 20 years ago. That was nothing but flying a B-17 from startup to all the way across the channel and into Germany to bomb some targets with the Norden while fighters and flak battered you. I don't know what it was, but for some reason that sim made it fun AND real. Ever since, I've only been a fighter, fighter/bomber, or attack guy with planes that usually have no more than 2 people. The DFW had the bombs but it also could take down enemy fighters...it was the F-105 of its day! I'm sure I'll have a good time with it.

since there is no "What if" forum for SF2...

You've got the wrong service. The USN wouldn't want this thing, but the USMC would love it! It's a one-Marine mini-AV-22! While the Harrier and F-35B will get to the target area fast, they don't have that persistence and low speed that make CAS more effective. Stealth doesn't matter in that regime, you just need agility, firepower, and the ability to defeat MANPADs and other short-range IRH SAMs. The USN went and retired perfectly good S-3Bs because they weren't interested in ASW being carrier-based at that range anymore I guess. I can't see them caring to get these. -
We skipped those and went right to the "WWII-style field radio" models, but we did have the camcorder-in-the-hand-with-VCR-in-a-bag.

New Screen Shots For DCS: A-10 Warthog
JediMaster replied to Dave's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
You can just stop and wait for the final release. Access to the beta was a sort of "bonus" for preordering. You actually paid for the final release. You don't have to mess with the beta at all if you don't want to. -
As its Valentines day tomorrow... depending on where you are...

Those Deep Thoughts were the best. "Would we cut down trees if they could scream? Probably, if they just stood around screaming all the time for no reason." -
The 380 does have airport restrictions, too. So while the 8I might not make much of a dent on routes that support the 380, on ones that couldn't because of the terminals or ramps or whatever the 8I will be a way to increase capacity with no infrastructure changes.

You know that problem you get with the radar basically whiting out its own display within seconds of turning it on? What's the fix again? I just spent a lot of time trying and failing to find it here... -

Well, I found the F-4G Adv Wild Weasel V (85) does it, but F-4G Wild Weasel 5 (78) does not. Comparing the .ini's is taking a long time but so far the differences i've found haven't helped when i've made the 85 one look like the 78 one. Sigh. -

IIRC, it is a .tga, but I'd have to check. Since it's an F-4, I'll try changing it to that stock one and see. -
I dislike MMOs because they require a time commitment I do not have to give.

My 2 yr old just got over pneumonia. Nasty.

No, I only noticed it so far with a 3rd party F-4. I'll have to check other F-4s. So the issue is a specified texture is missing and it does that? If that's the case, I can look in the file and perhaps change it to a different one. I can't take an SS right now, but the effect is that the scan sweep appears to "paint" the scope, with each pass making it more covered until after about 5-6 sweeps it's totally bright green. -
Yeah, when people go out of their way to tell other people they're NOT your friend, it's time to pack it in.

Which is the one that is wrong and which is the one that it should be? Can I just blank the line? -
Playing ME1 really did bring back that feel I got from playing KOTOR. Man I wish there had been a KOTOR 3 with MP ala NWN2.
