Cant get AA to work
JediMaster replied to xclusiv8's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
What video card and drivers are you using? I've had issues in the past with FSAA and some games with certain driver revisions. -

Any info on the basic plan? For instance, pots or Hall sensors? FFB? Strain gauge or movable? Stick/throttle/rudders sold together, separately, just stick and throttle? -
Nothing specific, but pretty much every ticket I've ever received while driving!

Both parents are wannabe actors, what can you expect?

Strike Fighters 2: Israel RELEASE
JediMaster replied to Crusader's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Flew a couple of missions...wow, I've never had so many fighters in the air in a random mission before! I had air activity on random, but there must have been 16 migs easy. I flew as an F-16 and died in a most embarrassing way...tailing a 23, trying to get a guns kill...and swatted from the sky by a wingman's Python 3!!! Then flew in the Nesher and had that same massive number of 21s to deal with. Got 2 of them, plus bombed the target, plus took out several parked 21s with the extra bombs! I think there's a new MiG-21...the FL. It's also Fishbed-D, but it's new. BTW, SF2I brings the number of stock planes + variants (not all flyable without modding, of course) to 131. -

Talk about preliminary! -
Mixed OS works fine as long as you install the oldest OS first and then move on from there. It's definitely recommended to install each OS on a separate partition/HD.

80% DL'd! It's a 616MB DL for those wanting to know. -
I wonder what that will be
JediMaster replied to Gr.Viper's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Ok, so a hypothetical expansion of an 80s conflict between US and USSR from beyond central Europe. That means it could be a real location, not like SF and SF2's Dhimar stuff, where they could have faced off like Iceland or Japan, or it could be indeed fictional again if they want to make their own terrain without worrying about adhering to real locations. -

Honestly I've never tried. I know Black Shark doesn't have any limit...I can swivel my head 360 degrees from looking out the left, to front, right, back, and then left again! As for LGBs, none of the stock planes had them, although they did have (separately) laser AGMs, TV bombs, and slick bombs. So it wouldn't surprise me if they don't work for players. -
JUst how much money does one have to throw at FSX to get a decent frame rate?
JediMaster replied to PinkPanther's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator
Going to quad core will see the most benefits if the game is coded to use multiple threads. FSX is old enough that I'm not sure it is. -

The 5850 is a bit shorter than the 5870 but puts the PCI power connector on the back of the card instead of the top, making it a wash. -
It's not their tech or combat ways that are Stone Age, it's their culture...or what they claim as their culture. The fact that they seem to think they can win and get the world to be THEIR way even though almost no one wants that...

I once asked a Hornet guy (he's a backseater) over at SimHQ about that specifically, and he declined to answer. He didn't give a reason for not answering.

Have you been spammed by neoqb to buy new planes?
JediMaster replied to PinkPanther's topic in General Discussions
LOL! That is funny. Do WoW players get emails asking why they haven't bought the latest expansions yet? Or is there no such thing as a WoW player that does NOT buy on the day of release? -

What CPU do you have? That has an equal bearing on performance. -
I was just goig to take my mother at the airport...
JediMaster replied to Silverbolt's topic in Military and General Aviation
I'm not saying that's the only thing it could do, just that I'm amazed they didn't just convert an An-124 to do it instead. -
It's really just a MiG-19 with a new nose forward of the wing leading edge. Their twin-engined MiG-21 with a new nose was a far greater feat of engineering. That's the J-8II I think?

The amazing part is they built a plane THAT big to carry their small orbiter but we've been using a regular old 747 with some reinforcements to do the job of carrying our larger, heavier orbiter for 30 years. -
Also this stick uses twist grip for rudders instead of a separate pedal unit. Some people may like that, I'm not one of them. For the same price as the Logi set you can also get all 3 of CH's pieces including the pedals. Besides, I think this stick only would work well if you flew modern jet sims only. Others that I play like Black Shark, Il-2, CFS3, and all of TK's sims just work better with a moving stick. Especially the WWI planes!!

I can't imagine that you won't. I won't predict how much as it will be game dependent, of course! -
I understand the idea, to make a game that isn't as hard as Arma2 for the uninitiated. The consensus seems to be, however, that they missed the mark. I've not tried it myself yet (I'm waiting for a demo), but it does sound more like a game designed for consoles that also is on PC.

I like CA Dark, but for some reason like the SF forums it totally bogs down my work PC...as in scrolling or page up/down has a MASSIVE lag. CPU usage goes from barely nothing to like 50% for iexplore.exe with it. Don't understand why, but I'm using Original as a result.

I've seen several systems around that won't boot if various USB devices are plugged in, not least some where a USB printer will cause a boot failure. You could try unplugging all but the essentials.

LOL, actually, creating her wasn't the easiest part in my case! We had to worry about folic acid pills and timing and LOTS of attempts.
