Sf2 Israel is iminent
JediMaster replied to guyran's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The reason I thought of that one is the large number of stock .ini's that are modded in it from what I recall. New "drop in" .inis for planes and weapons shouldn't be any trouble, like Dave said... Anyway, maybe it will just necessitate another tiny "fix pack" that consists of replacement .ini's based on the latest patch level. -
Believe me, this is the EASY phase!

The thing I keep wondering is where did they get "7" from? The build number says 6.1, doesn't it? Just like Vista was 6.0, XP was 5.1, and 2000 was 5.0. -

I think some of mine might have modified squadronlist.ini's and possibly a couple of others. I guess the biggest issue is mods of stock planes, as the .ini's for them might be changed in the .cat. I'm sure when it comes out we'll see some people post about issues with specific mods. The SF2V A&G Exp is one I'm particularly concerned about, actually! My other one is mostly just planes, terrains, and weapons. -

The installer and uninstaller? That's an odd thing to have a problem with this late in the game. He's only had those running since SF2's release, assuming it's because of making it work properly on Vista and XP. Whatever, another few days won't kill us. It's not like we don't already have a ton of other things available! I'll be interested to see what this does with my mods, though. While I have my stock SF2, SF2V, and SF2E installs, I also have 2 heavily modded installs and I hope I can update them more easily than it was for the old SFP1 series! -
The one on the Mall with all the other buildings has been there for decades. The new one in Dulles opened just around 6 yrs ago. It has the test shuttle Enterprise, the Concorde, the 707 prototype... If you saw the 2nd Transformers movie, when they go and find the SR-71 that's an old Decepticon, that's at the Udvar-Hazy museum at Dulles. Of course, when they walk outside and are suddenly at Davis-Monthan AFB's boneyard, well... *waves hand* You don't need to believe in the geography.

Be sure to go to BOTH NASMs. The one on the Mall, and the one at Dulles.

Don't make Erik angry. You won't like him when he's angry. -
There are some stupid ass people out there.

Most Fulcrums carry a belly tank that they don't ever jettison, too. -

I don't know if they ever carried retarded bombs as the plane was devised as an interceptor. Technically if they can carry slick bombs they can carry retarded bombs, because other than testing for possible separation issues the interface is the same, but I don't know that the Mirage III was ever used in that way. -

Well technically it's been inbound for over a month now, TK just had some last minute bugs to stamp out apparently. It would be nice if it comes out in time for the long weekend ahead (after I hoped and was disappointed it would be out for the long weekend a month ago). -

If it's Lockon Gold, that's 2 CDs with the old game plus the addon. -

Only thing I've seen about error code 3 was a corrupted DL of the DL version of FC, not a CD version. -

JediMaster replied to Starnose72's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
I think I ran into that too. There's a bug with that mission I guess where it's set as carrier landing and not t/o. You should be able to find some missions around the net for practicing that. No idea offhand where to look, though, as I've never grabbed any single missions for Il-2 myself. -
Bargain game = bargain gameplay Most of the time, anyway. There have been exceptions...

I've not played any of the recent NFS games, the last was in the 90s I think, the one before the Porsche-only release! I think they appeal to different segments. Simbin's Race/GTR/GTL is on the sim side, NFS is on the mainstream side without being pure arcade. It's all in what you want.

OK, Where is the EAW Combat Ace Forum?
JediMaster replied to Col. Gibbon's topic in EAW - General Discussions
I think I still have my EAW around somewhere. I played multiple BoB campaigns, but when it came time to start the 43 and 44 ones, I just lost interest. Compared to the BoB ones they seemed repetitive and less diverse. Lots of almost escort-only campaigns for the allies and bomber/fighter intercept only for the Germans got stale fast. I'm glad they've been able to alter the game to offer more...EAW was the last WWII sim I flew the campaigns in! I've played a lot of Il-2 in the past EIGHT years since release, but never made it past 3-4 missions in a campaign because the repetition/lack of diversity was worse than EAW's worst. Looking at those shots, though, I can only think "turn on FSAA!!" -
HELP!
JediMaster replied to lentsch123's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
It's possible the disk is indeed damaged in some way. The ultimate test would be to try and install it on another PC somewhere to see if it's something in your PC itself (which has been known to happen) or if it's the CD. -
The Race 07 demo on Steam is very good, and GTR Evo, which replaced GTR2, is an expansion for it.

That's the Bink movie player, which many games use for cutscenes and intro movies. Maybe try DLing and installing the latest version from Bink's site, if it's available?

The F-104 was a hot rocket, but I don't think it was ever really threatening to anyone except for some of its pilots. It very well might have been a better choice for Germany to get J-35s, but politics trumps ability more often than not.

They do, you just have to speak German to understand it! I know a little German. He's in the office down the hall. -

It should, there's never been a DVD drive made that didn't read CDs.
