The noise-making ones superseded the light-only ones. They were basically flashlights with an inflatable tube on the end that the light shone thru. Hitting two together was like...well, they were basically tube-shaped beachballs, so you can imagine how limp it was!

Well it's not like any politician would claim something they pushed for would "hurt the troops", would they?

Rise of Flight: Two aircraft released/unlocked today!

Yes, good question. What if a pilot with hundreds of hours in each of several different planes does NOT feel it's the best? -
My question is--is the file really infected, or is this just another AV false alarm? I remember one update to AVG once quarantined my long-installed FEAR.exe for no good reason. A bad virus sig update was the culprit. In a couple of days another update cured the problem. Try disabling Mcafee and scan with another program temporarily to see if it's real or just all in Mc's head.

I wonder what happened there. Yeah, the wide-open exploration, even more so that FC1, is what makes this game worth playing. Some of the other things are indeed tedious. I'm still not sure how I feel about the end of the game. Let me know what you think when you finish it.

The question remains...how good will it be? We already saw with Far Cry 2 what a sequel in name only can be like, what will this be?

FYI in the lower right corner of every post is an "edit" button along with quote and reply buttons.

Honestly, though, would you drive a car built by Boeing?? Besides, that's wrong...Mitsubishi builds cars and jets, too.

I heard it was a mechanical fault, but I suppose that wasn't an official report?

Last night it all went wrong!

Usually system restore is on automatically from the time of Vista (and XP) install. My laptop was suffering and I went to do Sysrestore only to also discover not a single point. Now, normally in addition to periodic snapshots Windows will also take one anytime a program is installed or uninstalled. I knew something was up. Searching around the net I discovered there are issues with permissions on HDs that prevent sysrestore from writing snapshots to the directory it should be. These issues, however, only seem to appear on OEM loads of Windows ie on PCs bought with Windows already on it, not on ones that people built themselves or bought an upgrade of Windows and installed over their previous versions. If this is you, then you may well have this same problem and sysrestore won't work for you at all. In the end, I was forced to back up and restore my entire OS on the laptop. That was a fun half-day. -

"All that and a bag of chips" I believe is the original longer version of the phrase...now people just use the shorter "all that." -
What, no votes for Six Pack?? For me it's Smokey and the Bandit 2, hands down. More police cars destroyed in that film than in 20 years across every PD in the whole country.

Johnny Rocket's is great, but there are very few around. I know of one in Orlando on I-drive, but I can't recall any others around here. Most of these places you people are mentioning I've never even heard of, let alone seen. Here we have MK, McD, Arby's, Checkers, Subway, Quiznos, Wendy's, Sonic's (a favorite), the "food court only" ones like Sbarro and Chick-Fil-A, Long John Silver, KFC, Taco Bell, maybe an occasional Nathan's... I think that's it. None of those others are here.

Actually, I don't have any. Last I had was one of those inflatable ones from 1978 I think! Got rid of it in the 80's at some point... Still have a bunch of the old toys in the garage, though, and a dozen or so models in various states.

The F-5F isn't the newest plane in the stable, so it wouldn't surprise me if it was a mechanical fault. That said, you can't discount pilot error either.

I have just one word: "YEEEEEE-hawwwwwwwww!!!!!!" Fellow could have a pretty good time in Vegas with that! -
Yes, and we won't talk about how old you aren't. [mutters]Yet another person who wasn't even born when Back to the Future hit theaters...can't believe this, born AFTER the SW trilogy...what is this world coming to...[/mutters]

Has multiplayer in OFF3 improved since it came out?
JediMaster replied to Uriah's topic in WWI Flight Sim Discussion
That question might better be asked in the OFF MP forum where all the gurus hang out. -
That's easy...ever bought any buns from Oscar Mayer? Or any hot dogs from Pepperidge Farm?

something interesting happened in SF2 Europe

I think he bailed out. The game doesn't have a bailing pilot animation or pilots in chutes, but it does model it non-visually. Is the 86D's FM updated to work with the latest patches? I've never seen an undamaged plane lose control unless there was some FM compatibility issues. -
I never flew CFS2 myself, but IIRC full flaps are only used for landing because of the high drag. Try setting them in an intermediate range. If it's one of those rare planes with only 0% and 100%, then try no flaps at all.

Well if the jet is over the river and the building is on the river, they may well be only a few hundred feet apart. However, I agree that appears to be taken at range with a long lens.

Quite easy, really. It's another way of saying you disagree with the administration that sent them there. To say if you don't support the war you can't support the troops is a little like saying the NRA is wrong and you can't just blame the person (President) you have to also blame the gun (troops). Besides, while a soldier is trained to fight, to say it's the main job implies a time of peace is a waste for a soldier. The job is to defend the country, and if that defense takes the form of being such a scary badass that no one wants to fight you, you've done the job superbly! After all, combat in the first place is an acknowledgement of a failure by those at the top to prevent it. That's THEIR job, the troops by themselves can't prevent a war, they can only win one they're told to fight.

Well, personally, I don't care that MJ died, he could've died 20 yrs ago for all the difference it would've meant to me as that was the last time I really listened to anything new of his. Thriller sits on the rack with other classics like Dark Side of the Moon, Tommy, Sgt Pepper, Nevermind...history on disc. That said, it's human nature to care more about those we know than those we don't, and with these stupid celebs people feel like they know them even if they've never met them. Anyone remember when John Lennon died? That surpassed this by a big amount, and he was still making good music at the time. So while the celebs deserve far less than they get and the soldiers far more, it will never change.
