I Even Have A Question - totally WOX related of course.......NOT!
JediMaster replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Oh, that's what I did wrong. I cooked it over a poorly shielded open fire. Tasted like week-old otter groin. -
Loudest plane I've ever heard, no joke...DC-8. Sure, a whole flight of F-15s or F/A-18s taking off is noisier, but even the Bone can't compare to the sheer timpanic membrane destruction caused by a DC-8 at takeoff.

We get noise complaints at our base all the time...and all we have are a handful of C-130s, HH-60s, and some visiting planes! Who are they from? Retired military living near the base so they have access to the BX and clinic! They literally want their cake and to eat it, too, and they can just STFU.

JediMaster replied to ghostrider883's topic in Military and General Aviation
Yes, but there's only one of those, so what's the odds of you seeing it? -

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. -
N Korea issues warning to Seoul
JediMaster replied to Erwin_Hans's topic in Military and General Aviation
Could it be the rest of the world really just doesn't give a damn whose name is on the door? Besides, so far all that's changed is the talk, the actions haven't. At least, none that matter. -
IAF IL-76 PHALCON Lands in India

While the Il-76 is big, it's not HUGE. That's the C-5 and An-124. -
Boeing unveils new F-15 Silent Eagle
JediMaster replied to Silverbolt's topic in Military and General Aviation
The MiG-29's airframe dates from the 1970's. The engines are based on equally old tech. You can update the cockpits and the avionics and radar, but it's still a 1970s design, as is the F-15. The F-22, actually, is a 1990s design based on a 1980s design (the YF-22). -
I don't know if this is compatible with your needs, but it's worth taking a look: http://www.saitekusa.com/prod/av8rxboxv2.htm

Well, to be honest only GT5 holds any interest for me whatsoever. Of course, I only have like half a dozen titles for my 360 and 2 of them are racing. Another 2 are flying. The last 2 are Star Wars. Well, that covers my interests right there!
-
Yes, a statement like "you can't argue with that but I bet you're going to try" is goading at best and baiting at worst. The jibe about "360 fanboys" was borderline, but the following statement pushed it over the line. The post was fine till then. Whether there will ever be 50GB PS3 exclusives is debatable, as few developers can afford to make a game with that kind of budget and then not make it cross-platform.

Yes...yes...forget explosive bolts on the canopy and rockets on the seat...we'll just put explosive bolts over the ENTIRE plane with rockets at every juncture, and at ejection the plane will simply blow itself apart to leave the pilot sitting there in a chair hurtling thru the air at hundreds of knots!!

SF2:Europe
JediMaster replied to MigBuster's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
SF2E should add the F-15 and Harrier. I'd like it if he'd include some new plane in there, too, but we'll get what we get. -
I just keep thinking of Venezuelan Beaver Cheese.

SF2 and SFV2 Issues

If it's a plane with a rear periscope that view IS correct. -
Most Distinctive Changes in NF4?
JediMaster replied to Lt. James Cater's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Ha! As an owner of every TW sims since SFP1 and regular flyer of the sims, I will point out I've NEVER finished a campaign! In fact, I've rarely got more than half a dozen missions in any! That's usually because a patch comes out and wipes out my progress of course... -
Wow, the jokes are going to fly on this one...
-
If the wing fell off in flight, as some eyewitnesses report, there's nothing the crew could've done. It speaks far more to the disrepair of the fleet due to funding/maintenance than the pilots.

Problems with SF2...
JediMaster replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Remember, people, this isn't TK's fault...it's Vista's!! -
I always wear a condom before I touch the keyboard. There's another one on my CAT5 cable.

They don't just "disappear", they're usually banned.

Well, I'm offended by the M1, so I guess it succeeded!

SF2/SF2V differences
JediMaster replied to MaverickMike's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
AFAIK TK's sims are still single-core aware only, but even so they run better on dual-core as Windows will use both cores and free up more time for the sim on its core. As far as the difference between SF2 and earlier versions, the graphics are better, the gameplay is the same. -
OR...we could put the cockpits in a gyro-stabilized enclosure so the pilot always experiences G-forces in the same manner!
-
Well, the way to design a fold-out wing kit for a bomb is likely to be copied as there aren't that many ways to do it without it looking the same. Lettering, though, is a bit much.
