Sidewinders and clouds

Some IRMs have IIR seekers which "see" the target in a way not too dissimilar from the IR Mavericks. Spoofing one of them with a flare is VERY hard because flares don't look like planes. -

Maybe the plane needs to take damage at the attachment point for it to break? -

Legalizing Pot for Money?!? What Has Happened to America?!?

I don't mind if people want to drink or smoke in their own homes. Just keep them 1) off the roads and 2) away from me. I loathe people that are drunk or high. Their behavior is so disgusting... I could hit them in the head with a hammer and cause equivalent brain damage so they'd ALWAYS feel that way and it wouldn't cost them a thing or fund any criminal activities. For some reason, they never want that... Frankly, I don't understand the desire for either and I never will. It is perfectly easy to enjoy yourself without either. -
Seeing as every boat I'VE ever seen I've spotted visually, and that big thing is far more visible than your average boat, I think we'll find it just fine!

Since it was an exercise, we don't know for sure. We only know in the rules of the exercise they deemed that shot to have scored. Was the F-22 allowed to go "all out" against a Growler?

LOL, when I was 16 I think MPS' F-19 wasn't yet released! I remember it only because I remember HS...I didn't care for those years. College was 10x better.

"What?" I'm sure he said that several times.

Yes, I don't think anything came from his lions.

The idea of grouping the tankers with the bombers argues against the whole "tankers should double as cargo lifters" idea they've been trying to sell.

Here's a timely reminder to BACK UP YOUR STUFF! -
You had to know. After all, dressing up in leather and racing their greased lightnings up and down the streets, you had to know they'd get busted. Beauty school dropouts...

I can understand not having MANPADs, but what about fixed MGs? .50s or the like? That would stop vehicles and helos equally, unless they had a gunship...in which case the prison should simply gracefully surrender.

That design (the one in the screenshots, not the diagram) looks like it would have a fairly high t/o and landing speed. -
I don't recall any plane ever suffering from "bay door = air brake". Some have had separation issues requiring things like extending the bomb rack into the slipstream, or an "air dam" to alter the airflow so the store can separate cleanly, but I don't recall ever hearing one story of a plane that had adverse drag that was noticeable over the short period the doors are open.

Left rudder should always make you turn left, no matter what. However, it can make you roll right, depending on the plane. That's why you should make a "coordinated turn" with left roll and left rudder together.

I will add that's why I will be upgrading my C2D 3.0GHz...to a C2D 3.5Ghz.

Once you have GTR2 you can get the Power and Glory mod which mixes GTL and GTR2. The difference is that instead of driving "classic" cars on modern tracks (what GTL is) you're actually racing DURING that time, like the old Grand Prix Legends.

Are flight sims going out of style?
JediMaster replied to Emp_Palpatine's topic in General Flight Sim Discussion
During the Cold War, Vietnam, Korea, WWII, WWI...the enemies all had their own planes they fought with. There is no "terrorist AF" to tangle with. After the Gulf War almost 20 yrs ago there has been nothing since to really give planes a "heroic role" for all to see. It's like Storm said. -
Some of the Ka-50s switches are for offensive systems I wouldn't expect to be on a KC-135. Besides, aren't the KC-135s running around with far older cockpit designs anyway? That said, the procedure conceptually isn't that obtuse--batteries -> systems -> APU -> more systems -> one engine -> 2nd engine -> kill APU -> even MORE systems...etc I have many mapped to my HOTAS so you don't need to click around that much in the cockpit if you don't want to.

Are flight sims going out of style?
JediMaster replied to Emp_Palpatine's topic in General Flight Sim Discussion
I think 2002 was the last good year for it. We had LOMAC, Il-2 + expansions, CFS3, SFP1, etc. Since then we've only had mods to old games, F4:AF (which is itself really a mod), EE2 (ditto), more Il-2 expansion, MS FS releases (now gone), and TK's follow-on releases. The only bright light has been DCS: Black Shark and the upcoming DCS releases, along with SoW:BoB (whenever THAT comes out). Not to belittle TW's sims, but if you didn't like SFP1 you won't like WOI or SF2. That's what happens from using the same code base for every release. Of course, LOMAC and DCS are in the same boat pretty much! There are other new ones on the horizon, but it's not like 1998/99 when there were more flight sims released for the PC than there were FPS on the PC in 2008!!! Halo was the death knell of FPS on the PC, BTW. It proved a mediocre game could sell like mad on a console and everything shifted to there.
