No. The F-35 will do some of the precision targeting. Some attacks will be done by UCAVs. Some by AH-64s. Some by other means. The F-35 was never going to wear a boar's mouth and go strafing tanks, that just makes no sense. Rather the various attack profiles the A-10 can do will be divvied up amongst other assets.

Yes I'll Admit It! I played a somewhat corny game and LIKE IT

Sooo...are we there yet?

I think it safe to say that the PC side of SF is mostly dead. Is it totally dead? Only an expert could say. However, I no longer check weekly or monthly for updates or things. It's been two years since NA, and it's obvious that TK's roadmap didn't work out as well as we'd hoped. There's nothing more to say about it, he needs to make money and SF2 isn't doing that well enough. No sense blaming ourselves (unless you're one of those who bought a single SF2 title and then just "made do" with mods ), we tried to spread the word and give people ways to get more out of it than TK provided alone. It just didn't work. You can speculate if Steam's extra exposure vs the Valve cut would've been worth it, but it's too late now. -
It's far less about who Iraq is and more about who Iran is.

Is this predicated on a repeal of sequestration, though?

This Sim Needs More Aircraft

Amazing list of sims that are all over 10 years old there. You may be happy flying sims programmed during the Clinton administration for another 10 years while you wait for uber sims to be delivered during the NEXT Clinton administration (or later), but some of us would like a current sim we can fly today to have these planes. If they're delivering 80% of the plane in 50% of the time, I'll go for that. I'm not interested in jumping through hoops to get a 1990s sim working on a Win7/64 machine that I can't even play MP with anyone anymore because THEY are all tired of the 90's sims as well. I don't have time to learn a dozen more planes to A-10C levels, anyway. I have so little free time that FC level is almost the limit of what I have the time to learn because I'd rather learn to fly 10 planes of all types (modern, retro, fighter, bomber, etc) than just one in -1 level detail. You can say "well you can turn down the difficulty", and that's true, so I don't need to learn so much...but I need them to be released first. -

At least you have some choices. Here all we get is blueberry-flavored corporate shill or raspberry-flavored corporate shill (but for different companies), neither of which give a damn about us.

I think it safe to say the 3rd party revolution will NOT be televised...and at this rate doesn't seem likely to occur. Instead of a flood it will be a trickle, but I think the truth is that people are all demanding A-10C-standard planes from these groups and it's just not realistic. I'd be thrilled with FC-level planes like the 104, M2000, F-14, and others, just as long as we GET them. I'm not a hardcore-only type, I wouldn't fly SF2 if I was! I always think something is better than nothing, but too many so-called fans insist the reverse, that it's better to have NO plane than one that misses meeting all of their expectations in the slightest manner. Of course ED has some responsibility in this as well, the grumbling about shifting code bases is too widespread to be just one group's sour grapes. Yet you'd think Belsimtek wouldn't have been the only one at this point. I just hope ED is almost "over the hump" and with 1.3 the code base will stabilize to the point that the 3rd parties can catch up. -

The HAS at the airfield makes me think it's DCS but heavily modded. Maybe some PP on the video as well to further remove it from its origins. -

The lens on the camera gives the impression that they're closer than they really are. They're in formation, yes, but not Thunderbirds-close.

Missiles in 1.2.8
JediMaster replied to Dave's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I fought a 3v3 engagement against MiG-29S's. Managed to take out all the MiGs for no losses, but it was frantic. Like 6+ 120s and a couple 9's vs several AA-10s and 11s, but the whole thing lasted MAYBE 30 seconds. No complaints so far, but that's all I've done in 1.2.8 AA so far, so it's early for a verdict. -

It might as well be a totally different airplane with the same cockpit/radar of the 15C we had before. Handling totally changed! -
They're making Ep VII take place 30 yrs after ROTJ, so the actors will have aged realistically. Besides, some people age better than others. A few years ago I watched a high-70's William Shatner do his classic "Shatner roll" on Ryan Seacrest as if it was nothing.
