I need to get a life...
JediMaster replied to FastCargo's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
The original Tomcat design was a single finned plane, actually. I have pictures around somewhere... -
question about Net coop
JediMaster replied to wildy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Oh, people have been asking for more stuff there for the entire time of the games' existence. Personally I think the ability to fly the single missions in MP would be excellent, but TK has simply stated he has "no plans" to change it. -
IRL + Champ Car = Yahoo!
JediMaster replied to Fates's topic in Racing Simulations General Discussions
I'm guessing IRL's will take it because they're cheaper, but it's only a guess. -
The AI in OFF is dependent on how you play it. It only seems to work in the campaign properly. In single missions and such it's just lame.

Australia goes with Fullbacks?
JediMaster replied to Silverbolt's topic in Military and General Aviation
Why would it? Their show only lasted 6 episodes I think! -

Gotta love the "we don't need fighters" mentality. -
I don't think Libya is the breakthrough they were looking for...

There's still a pile of clothes on the floor though! Cheer up!

It hasn't been about Castro's possible threat to the US in decades. It's all about resentment and punishment which is why it's so stupid.

Florida is the same way...no ice, but the rain is some sort of strange unknown that can't be dealt with...despite it happening like 200 days a year.

Another try... My question: "Why do birds suddenly appear everytime you are near?" Your answer: "the game is still meant to be light, casual, fun game with nifty airplanes in it" This is getting to be a real puzzle. -
Russo UK's (fictional) Sukhoi Prototype

The real Su-30/33's canards aren't in sync with the stabs, they move according to what the computer tells them to do in response to control inputs. Check LOMAC's Su-33 and you'll see they often seem to move counter to what you'd expect. -
Satellite USA-193 hit by SM-3 missile....
JediMaster replied to Jimbib's topic in Military and General Aviation
They know it, too. They're just trying to milk this for all it's possibly worth among the more ignorant. -
Primarily, secondarily, tertiarily...

Dassault's problem was everyone wanted the 2000 but no one wanted Rafales. So they decided to force the issue by closing down the line...now nobody is buying French at all!

[Guiness] BRILLIANT! [/Guiness]

It's true that they had to upgrade the equipment on the ships to do this, but I believe it was more because they were shooting at a "cold" target that hadn't yet started reentry or had any passage through the atmosphere. Usually anything you're trying to shoot down will shine in the IR band due to those factors. Other than that, the SM-3 system has had BMD in its plan for years now. Besides, whether or not it could do it before, it CAN do it now.

I certainly wouldn't be able to pick it out in a crowd. It's hardly very recognizable.

Wings Over Israel [Official Thread]
JediMaster replied to column5's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
No, it's just the Americans that came over to help out are all in the ATC seats. I only got a few minutes in last night (plenty more coming tonight) but I like what I'm seeing here. Of course it's easy to say "this is what SFP1 should've been", but the fact is that other than the general structure the game is very much changed from what we had back in '02. -

No, it doesn't work. My question: "How many roads must a man walk down before he can call himself a man?" Your answer: "the game is still meant to be light, casual, fun game with nifty airplanes in it" Sorry, next! -
WOI WOV WOE SFP1 - integration
JediMaster replied to Sokol's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Until the code from the others is brought up to WOI's standards, WOI is totally separate. Once the older ones are patched, you'll be able to move all the stuff over manually, but there's no auto-merge option like WOE had. Right now MOST terrain and planes will work, but weapons are out. -
question about Net coop
JediMaster replied to wildy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
It's been 5 years now and the MP hasn't changed at all in functionality. Only bug fixes and stability enhancements. I wouldn't hold my breath. -
It probably makes more sense before translation to English. I never got far with the game, but the premise is an Earthforce destroyer (I think) gets lost in hyperspace and then is found again 10 years later, all very mysterious. I only flew the early missions against Raiders and those guys were tough enough that I got stuck.
