what is the newest IL-2 game
JediMaster replied to chuckman's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
At least it won't shoot back. -
Only coop. I got burned out on stupid MP in games about 5 years ago. From around the time of Q3A's release in early 2000 until around 2003 I spent time online in games like MOHAA, RTCW/ET, BF1942/DC, BFV, ST:EF, NOLF1/2, Joint Ops/Escalation, Jedi Outcast, and Jedi Academy. I might have forgotten a couple... Anyway, by 2004 it seemed like all the "normal" players were gone. All you had were the clans and the cheaters (sometimes embodied in the same group!) and the fun was gone. Every attempt I've made since then in playing MP like that has had the same experience, including most recently Red Orchestra. Now all I want is good coop for playing alongside a few people I know. Give me the ability to have up to 8 people vs AI and I'm good. I was driven off by the mass immaturity of public servers and I'm not going to bother joining some clan.

Hello, Cheaty McCheater. Hello? Don't be so gullible, McCheater!

Ah, I see how it works, making new units playable by altering the 3D models and modding the characteristics of existing playable units, not just creating MORE playable units. An interesting idea for those tired of the same old OHP and such.

I wonder if we'll get "gaming" video cards with a separate PPU next to the GPU on one card, or if they'll just start making multi-GPU cards only with the ability to do physics as well in the drivers.

I bought my 1950 Pro AGP exactly a year ago, and it's been fine till now, but recent games like Crysis are really pushing it. Unlike you, I can't get a better AGP card at ANY price. The only one made was that very limited run of 1950 XTs (only available in the UK I think) and another more recent limited run of 3850s (which seem to be gone for now) ALSO only available overseas. I've got to upgrade as well, and I'm considering just buying a whole new PC as the difference in price will be relatively small. I've got a 939 pin Athlon FX w/AGP, DDR, and PATA IDE. All new CPUs/mobos are DD2/3 and everything has gone PCI-E and SATA. Forget finding a good mobo that's DDR2/3 and PCI-E that also has 2 IDE ports (to support the 4 IDE drives I have now).

ARCA Sim Racing anyone?
JediMaster replied to Revvin's topic in Racing Simulations General Discussions
Oh, it is? I'm pretty impressed with Race 07's AI right now, and it only cost me $20 for online and offline. -
You sell the rights to that story to Lifetime yet? Just say you're a woman and they'll buy it! My Hard Drive Died and Then So Did the Rest of My Computer: The Barkhorn Story
-
Yeah, that bit is completely unexplained in the story, and a bit important in retrospect!

Did you get all the stuffing up in the corners? She must be made of sterner stuff... Get...the rack!

How come no one has mentioned those ginsu knives? You can even cut a can open with it! It's the only knife you'll ever need! And if you order now, you get a complete set of knives, despite the fact that we just told you the ginsu will be the only one you'll ever need!

Which one you like most SFP1, WoV or WoE and why?

To be honest, although the stock terrains can look pretty blah, once I start fighting I never notice! All I care about is the combat. -
A bit silly question...
JediMaster replied to Mladuna's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The GR.4/4a Tornados now in RAF service are NOT the ones in NF2. That's the GR.1, so you have to base things around that. -
A question of etiquette...

If all you've done is make .ini changes, you can UL those files here by themselves, giving credit to those who made the model the .ini files go to, of course. If you are going to UL an entire plane, then you should get their permission. It sounds to me like you didn't make any changes to the 3d model, so you shouldn't have to worry about it. Just UL the .ini files you've changed in zip/rar format. -
A-10C and SU-27?

As long as it isn't "iPod only"! Those of us who did NOT fall for the Apple marketing crap are quite irritated that everyone else has!! -
EF-2000 Progress

I'm afraid you'll have to wait 2 weeks before you can even begin to wait 2 weeks. -
Ah, well as somone who doesn't give a crap about any MP that's not coop (and so few games have it anymore), I've never tried nor do I intend to try playing MP Crysis. All I want is a good SP game with the ability to also play it through coop.

Right, as we were saying, there aren't ANY cards under $100 that can run WiC well unless you find it used by someone who just wants to dump it. WiC is cutting-edge 2007 game tech. No card under $100 is.

ARCA Sim Racing anyone?
JediMaster replied to Revvin's topic in Racing Simulations General Discussions
That site is a bit confusing. Will this be a full-featured offline sim or is it online-only? I've no interest in the latter. -
Wow, the carrier that never was has its own "world"!

The structural problems were shown to be a manufacturing defect in the longerons. The issue is how many were built that way, and I don't have the answer other than the E model did NOT have this same longeron so therefore was cleared quickly. I don't know if any A's had it or how many C's did.

A-10C and SU-27?
JediMaster replied to WoEpilot's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I like the big hole with the wires sticking out under the left MFD! -
Any interest?

LOL, I know it doesn't mean the same in English as it does in Russian, but just the idea of ANY fighter with a "BM" at the end of it...smells... -
what if planes
JediMaster replied to 76.IAP-Blackbird's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
Yet another plane designed by someone who was thinking "cool" and not "would this thing actually work?" Guess they don't need any fuel or armament, and let's not even talk about those improbable wings. Someone ever think of trying that in a wind tunnel? Not hardly...
