They have eyes, but they cannot see...
-
It's totally filmed in Vancouver, but the writers are US based. Anyway, they got half the season done when the strike hit, so I think we will just be seeing the 1st half at this point unless the strike ends very soon (not likely).

You mean Dean Stockwell? He's an awesome actor. See him playing Scott Bakula's sidekick on Quantum Leap for several years, or playing Dr Yueh in Lynch's Dune from 1984...

i racing accounces their pricing
JediMaster replied to Dagger's topic in Racing Simulations General Discussions
This is ludicrous. Are they unaware of all the work being done FOR FREE for rfactor? Like I would ever pay more than $100 for one sim, no matter how many cars or tracks were in it. On the individual track licensing part, I'm thinking no company would give an untried company exlcusive rights, that's fiscally stupid. This isn't EA or Sony asking to do it, like F1 and NASCAR fell for. This iracing has a nice pedigree, but we all know the apple can fall VERY far from the tree. I guess they figured what's good for Microsoft... -
Pacific Fighters
JediMaster replied to bombadair's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
BoB is the new sim coming out...maybe by the end of this year...maybe... As for Il-2 series, there is one final patch coming out adding a couple of maps but then it's done. It will be almost 7 years old at that point! -
Obviously that testing was at its end!

The B-58 was a maintenance hog, IIRC. It was very advanced but paid for it. The B-36 had the largest single-wheel main gear ever made. After it started cracking runways on landing they came up with the now-standard multi-wheel bogeys for the main gear. Planes like the C-5, 747, and An-124 have tons of wheels on their mains, but the B-36 had TWO. Until they revised them, of course. As for size, the B-1B is actually larger than a B-52, it just doesn't look it. The B-2 is far shorter, but its wingspan is still greater than the KC-135s that refuel it.

France reiterates offer of 40 Rafale fighters to India
JediMaster replied to Piloto's topic in Military and General Aviation
Logistics always suffers if you have too many planes. Of course, having only one type can be just as bad. The point is the French are desperate for the Rafale to get an export order SOMEWHERE and they can't get it. Oh wait, didn't Libya order them? Not that they're an impressive sale. -
I guess that was an unsuccessful test flight! That's what they're for, although generally they don't lose them of course.

Eagles have been downed by SAMs because they can be seen. Can the F-22? We don't know.

U.S., India Ink Airlifter Accord
JediMaster replied to ghostrider883's topic in Military and General Aviation
Well, you don't buy C-17s if you're looking for C-130s. You might buy C-130s even if you want C-17s, of course. -
Korean Multi-Purpouse/Role Helicopter
JediMaster replied to Piloto's topic in Military and General Aviation
Yeah, the original AH-1 was just a UH-1 with a different main cabin, and while there was some divergence in the intervening decades, the USMC is now standardizing them again with the rebuilds and new buys of the Super Hueys. -
I send them FedEx. Hope you don't mind the rads, Harold!

We have a large Army contingent on our AF base, they just seem to do that.
-
Don't forget they TOTALLY changed the game play that made it popular in the first place in the process.

NORAD is too busy tracking Santa and UFOs to respond to those dweebs...
-
I recall they had placed lights all over the surface of the plane and had them on at varying intensities and groupings to see how best to make the plane blend into the sky. I don't remember what plane(s) they used. One of the longest active runways in the world is right here, the SLF. Gets used for most shuttle landings.

I've been to the actual site here. It was sobering.

You all pale before my near 29,000 at simhq.

I also never got FA. I had USNF, USMF, ATF, NATO, and USNF 97. When FA came out I said "Why would I want this?" and didn't get it...of course, at the time I was still dual-booting DOS and Win9x for games...

Good grief.

Old girl is starting to show her age (again)

THIS...IS...DAGOBAH!!! -
The B-47 isn't that fat. I went inside the bomb bay of one at the 8th AF Museum in E GA and it's NOT that wide.
