Australia goes with Fullbacks?

"F-22 super-hunting" I just love that mistranslation! -
U.S., India Ink Airlifter Accord
JediMaster replied to ghostrider883's topic in Military and General Aviation
Once again accounting trickery raises its ugly head. That price must include spares, training, and probably maintenance and lifecycle costs for 20 yrs. There's no way even SpecOps MC-130Js cost that much for just 6. -
The runway at the base here has a major road a couple hundred feet after the end of it...when a C-5 takes off, it doesn't clear that road by more than 100 ft or so. The F-22 has to put on a better show than a 71--it can turn within county limits!

If you'd called it the F-5G there wouldn't have been any confusion. -
The last strike was 1988...Johnny Carson was still on the air...so no, it wasn't recent.

Didn't know the Luftwaffe had outfitted their Fulcrums (before they sold them) with wing tanks. That's not standard for it, usually just the centerline tank is all that's available.

Everything is better with a big TV and surround, but that doesn't mean it's bad without it. Besides, you can fly the other 167 hrs of the week, this hour is for the future! "Watch this show if you want to live..."
-
I got separate ones for less, I think you pay a premium just to get the dual format. Besides, there are people that claim it's not TRUE dual format, something about it only meeting the standards for one half, the other only "mostly" conforming, whatever that means.

That's how shows like South Park and Family Guy are done, mostly CG.

The "automatic" ARM bit proves the story false, at least as written. Like they would have live HARMs on the bird over CA anyway!

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gFKkvK6...7JdbWwD8U16F780 You have GOT to be kidding me. What next? An MP5 with built in curling iron?

LOL! We have the same thing here. Ever notice the Comm Sqd has the worst record of communicating with others? Irony on a plate! -
India, Russia sign pact to build combat aircraft

The X-29 was just a testbed. The nose section was from an F-5, the engine was from an F/A-18, etc. It had no radar, nothing combat related. Ditto the X-31. -
That strike the other day by Baghdad was F-16s and B-1s. BOOM.

A few questions
JediMaster replied to Laer's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
1. Not that I know of, old design choice since the beginning. 2. Not that I know of. 3. Also old design choice since the beginning. 4. Also old design choice since the beginning. 5. Not that I know of. 6. After 6 years of this sim I've STILL never used the bombsite...always divebombing for me! 7. Nope. 8. See #6. 9. If you're looking for ground attack, you either need to pick a plane that never fought air-to-air or you need to use a 3rd party campaign, not a built-in one. Lowengrin's Dynamic Campaign Generator for Il-2 has been around for years and offers a lot more flexibility and customization. Or you can look for scripted campaigns online, but of course it will always play the same. -
Track IR external view issue
JediMaster replied to Laer's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
I have a button mapped to the TIR enable/disable key (F9 by default) so I can disable it when I'm in external view. I don't know of any other way. -
Keyboard commands
JediMaster replied to Laer's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
I thought there was, but perhaps not. I believe instead it's an option you choose before you start the mission, along with things like engine overheat, blackouts, etc. Not that I'm aware of. Once the map is opened with M everything is mouse-driven. -
Most damaged flyable aircraft
JediMaster replied to RedBladeHR's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
In that case there was a bug going on where the plane looked worse than it really was ie the damage model was for a plane in far better shape than that! -
I haven't used any mods for F4 pretty much since F4:AF came out. Its stability was what drew me to it! So I don't know off hand which one, but I would sort by dates and look for the newest ones. The SP4 one probably still applies in large part, which is why it's there. I believe OF was an extension of SP4, that's why.

Lay off the political rhetoric, guys. No one's mind was ever changed in politics or religion by posts on the internet, so don't even make the attempt. -
What flight sim has the best modeling of ECM?
JediMaster replied to TheChief2000's topic in Military and General Aviation
They cut out IFF for that reason! IFF! Talk about "sensitive"! -
Going into Space...in a Starfighter?
JediMaster replied to Gocad's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Um, there is a slight problem with that number! That is ~331.5 miles or 530.5 km in altitude. The ISS orbits at 334.4 km!!! So, your F-104 went higher than the space shuttle WITHOUT the mega solid rocket boosters or external fuel tank the size of a C-130 fuselage.
