  1. I think it was the gold plated canopy that made the big difference. However, just look at the differences in the 2 Fulcrum models. A factor of 10!
  2. Valkyrie

There's a still pic of him standing next to a Ju-52, too.
  3. A Holiday wish to all the Trek fans

No comments about setting course and warp 5?
  4. Poll: Should I buy this stick?

I had a great FFB wheel for my PC--the MS Sidewinder! I bought a USB adapter for it, but while it CONTROLLED, it didn't "work"--the FFB was dead that way. So I bought an Act Labs...mistake. Never really liked it. Now I have a Momo, much better.
  5. (Problem Solved) Short fuse...how easily can I restore?

I've not had to deal with a BIOS limit on a drive in awhile. I'm not sure what will or won't work in this case. I guess it really depends how that software to "work around" the limit works.
  6. He and Levy discovered that comet that collided with Jupiter.
  7. Interesting photo

    Cool shot!
  8. Proposed Hercules Laser Gunship

Tactical apps will come with the creation of equally powerful solid-state lasers.
  9. I'm wondering what laws/rules THAT broke!
  10. Proposed Hercules Laser Gunship

I think the idea of taking out a lone vehicle with it is the most promising. Zero collateral damage and zero time of flight. Literally if you can see it you can hit it.
  11. While that 37 is based on the Testor's model that came out back then, that A-12 is just wrong.
  12. I am enduring great hardships

    If it's under 80, I'm cold!
  13. Deuces Bar and Grill

Don't forget to run a C/BA first! You wouldn't want to spend money in the wrong place!
  14. No enemies out there........?

You can always do it the super-old-fashioned way...edit the .msn file with notepad and do it manually!
  15. Don't forget DCS: Black Shark! Fighter Ops is certainly no less than a year out. SoW: BoB likewise won't be out before this time next year.
  16. wait a minute...

Note he's making a mostly symbolic gesture. When CFE was implemented their conventional forces were far more formidable then they are now. Well, actually they were IDENTICAL to what they are now, just fewer of them. Russia has done little modernizing since the collapse of the USSR. I mean, the resumption of occasional bomber flights is now big news. It's all political pressure against the US and to show those at home he's not towing the line. Not that it matters much, as this administration has shown it doesn't alter course from foreign opinions.
  17. You didn't know anyone named Druyun, did you?
  18. What we have is one group taking advantage of a totally unrelated problem. Yes, they are pushing to get more F-22s to replace more F-15s. This grounding merely gives them more fuel. This was bound to happen at some point anyway because the Eagles are only getting older. I just was expecting it post-2010.
  19. Awesome Paint

Oooh, a USAAC scheme! Inspiring me to fly some FE this week!
  20. I am enduring great hardships

So, where's the humidity? That looks pretty cold to me.

COD4 runs surprisingly well on mid-range systems and even on lower-end ones when the details are turned down. Some good optimizing went into it.
  22. The F4 campaigns are designed to be like "real" campaigns. There's no possible way for one plane to shoot everything down. You go up, do what your mission calls for, and fly home. Then you pick a new mission and go up again. As for whether mission is accomplished or not, that's not quite so easy to determine. Sometimes it's obvious, like "destroy a power plant" or "destroy armored column." When it's less defined like CAS, SEAD, fighter sweep, etc, you just go up and do what you can with the fuel and ammo you have then go home. The game engine determines if you did it or not, but as long as you knock out targets you'll help the campaign along.
  23. UFO's: Have you seen one?

*waves hand* Those were not alien spacecraft. That was swamp gas reflecting the light of the planet Venus. Nothing unusual happened. Move along.
  24. OFP2 Screenshots

They look nice, but I have my doubts about being able to execute graphics of that quality on the scale OFP accustomed us to with decent performance on even a mid-range system!
  25. You ever notice that as the size of an organization grows, the collective intelligence seems to decrease?
