GTR2 tracks converted to RACE 07
JediMaster replied to Revvin's topic in Racing Simulations General Discussions
Hmmm. I would think they'd be able to stop that if they wanted to relatively easy. -
What I hate is games that are console exclusives, or almost as bad are given a lame port to the PC. Of course, if every console had the same games then the point of having different consoles would disappear. The point really is that there are fewer exclusives now than ever before simply because game costs have gone so high that the cost of porting to other consoles is relatively small in return for the sales they will make by having them everywhere. So I think we're going to see fewer and fewer of them.

India to buy 197 helicopters for army from EADS
JediMaster replied to ghostrider883's topic in Military and General Aviation
The Dhruv may not work so well in high altitudes, which was specifically mentioned here. I also don't think they're in the same class. -
A revolution in small arm design.

With many weapons the act of firing negates stealth. Submarines, airplanes, tanks, etc. -

I don't remember any f-14 or carriers in OFP. -
Actually, it would be 60 years now, as Sgt Pepper's was released 40 yrs ago in June, and at THAT time it was 20 yrs.

Actually, they had nothing to do with that skit.

NATO Fighters 3
JediMaster replied to column5's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yeah, that was back when they were more worried about being seen by a plane from above. Now they realize that the plane being co-alt with you is a bit more likely. -

Almost as big as I was when I was born (9 2/3 lbs). Congrats! -
It's in my Amazon wishlist. Yes, the 2-disc one! It's a fun SF/action film with lots of action and combat and some good funny moments.

I used to have a 3700 myself. Now I have a 2.8GHz FX-57. When I had my 3700 and an X800 XT, I upgraded the 2 about a month apart. I can't remember what I did first, I think it was the CPU, but I saw pretty much no improvement until I upgraded the other as well. In other words, the 2 were well-suited to each other in speed and whichever I chose to upgrade first didn't matter as the other would hold me back until it too was upgraded.

Looking at this: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...=si&img=520 I don't think it is. I'm not sure what it is, actually.

Noob questions
JediMaster replied to Aeroscout's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
WoE is great for a "jump in and fly" experience. MP is a bit limited, but it works. LOMAC makes you have missions for MP, WoE will generate one randomly, although it won't be very elaborate. WoV has slightly older planes than WoE, different locations, etc. However, other than that the game is identical. -
Is this possible?
JediMaster replied to Viggen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The ADV doesn't have a longer nose per se, rather it's a plug in the fuselage aft of the cockpit that gave more internal volume for fuel. You'll notice in those pics the IDS/ECR models have the intakes in line with the break between the front and rear cockpits. The ADV however has the intake behind the rear cockpit. That's roughly how big the fuselage plug was. -
The Mighty F-4
JediMaster replied to Viper6's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Not in US service, but I'd think some of these upgraded F-4s out there used by other countries such as Japan, Turkey, Israel, and so on might have it. -
We're just now getting back into hypersonics, but all unmanned.

What's your CPU? I don't remember you mentioning it. If it's too slow, it will hold the card back. Remember the card can only do as much as the CPU sends to it, and a CPU can only send as much to a card as it will take. In other words, either one can be a bottleneck. If your performance hasn't budged, you must have a CPU bottleneck. Try turning up your FSAA and AF settings and I'm guessing you won't see a performance hit--those are done solely in the video card.

What's the best way to kill a mig?

You were surprised? I bet it pales in comparison to the MiG driver's surprise! -
Project 1 Mods
JediMaster replied to racinglad's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
What's most used? Other than perhaps a few of the total conversions like Op Tainted Cigar or NATO Fighters, I think that's hard to say. People grab what interests them most. Some people only do WWII, some only do modern, some prefer the Korean era, etc. Same thing with recommendations. What is your favorite era? You can see in the DL section how many times a given mod has been looked at to give you an idea of its popularity, but other than say the F-14 or Tornados (planes most everyone wants), it's really all about your preference.
