  1. Oh good grief!

I don't mind when people say they don't care for more realistic games and prefer the run-n-gun. That's fine. I DO mind when that's how they play but they SAY they're not, and they bash the realistic games and hype the unrealistic ones as if they were realistic! I mean, really. Don't tell me LOMAC is unrealistic but BF2's planes are!!
  2. Any X3-ers out there?

I'll admit it...I have the game installed and have maybe 15 mins of time in it! :blush2: I know there's a lot of great mods out for it, too, but with no time in the game itself I've not really done much there. Just so many other things occupying my time lately. I also got the Tarr Chronicles demo but don't even have that installed!
  3. Hello

I don't know if it is or not. There are individual new plane models that can be downloaded, such as the F-15 and A-10 I think, but I've not heard of any such big mod coming out yet. Admittedly I'm a bit out of touch with LOMAC mods anyway...
  4. Could a MACK truck really change into a giant robot?

You know, 40 years ago people believed we'd see intelligent computers in our lifetime, that you could hold great conversations with, that would fill a room. Instead, we have computers that fit in a briefcase that are still stupid as a pile of bricks. Or sharp as a ball of wet mice, if you prefer. So, as for AI, forget it anytime soon. As for transforming, of course you likely could, but what would the point be?
  5. Goodnight Ms Moneypenny

Yup, she was in her mid 30s for the start and was 58 for her last. Moneypenny, what will we do without you? Although other actresses have played her, most recently and decently Samantha Bond for the Brosnan films, Maxwell was the one everyone will remember.
  6. Day of days......

Dave, were you unable to get ahold of her 1st Sgt? I realize in a time critical situation it may not be possible without having the number on hand, but am I correct in thinking that in most cases that would be the person to contact? Or when you said "fellow military" did you mean former military as well?
  7. The Millenium Falcon flew in space, and you can make a ship any shape when flying in space. No aero. The Talon was totally ridiculous. I kept laughing when watching the movie when they talked about going Mach 3+ and such. With THAT canopy? Aero heating is so severe at those speeds... Plus they would SAY Mach 3 and then show a plane that looked like it was flying at subsonic speeds based on passage of scenery. Then in a dive on a building at Mach 3? And able to pull out? At that range???? NOT. Anyway, while it's conceivable that some of these designs COULD fly, the performance they are given is totally [Vizzini]inconceivable!![/Vizzini]
  8. new airliner?

    Um....yeah...
  9. By the time the W German Luftwaffe was formed, post-war, those planes were all obsolete. First thing they needed was trainers anyway, to get their pilots proficient after years without flying. I think this was around 1950 or so.
  10. Wow...just found this one...

Great orbiter model, although their VAB needs work.
  11. Tell me when they make a Sonic's...
  12. IAF Jaguars ‘sink’ USS Nimitz

Well, calling it an embarrassment is a stretch unless the maintenance crew was negligent, which I doubt. Planes fail all the time, all over the world. Older planes tend to fail more often, yes, but even newer ones will. More like bad luck. However, the pilot ejected safely, so that should be counted as a good day.
  13. XBOX Games

There is a console forum here, down towards the bottom of the list. However, OGF and AC6 are pretty much it as far as I know for jets on the 360. I don't remember if the original xbox had any.
  14. Come on in!

Ok, folks, here's the forum for the space sims that aren't Star Wars or Star Trek. Bring in your Orbiter stuff and your other little-known space sims that are crying out for recognition.
  15. Come on in!

I honestly don't know. I suppose that depends on if there are other mirrors for it or if the makers want it at a central location only.
  16. Darth Vader....the Conductor

Youtube is filled with the adventures of Chad Vader.
  17. Sonys 'Continuos play' scheme

    LOL, competitors are "off topic"!!!
  18. Newby

Not much info other than that, really. I heard they're shooting for an "end of year" release, but as always that's not guaranteed by any means. It comes when it comes.
  19. He's had nothing really to do with any of these games in a long time. Maybe the first Splinter Cell was the last? Don't recall.
  20. Halo 3 out earn Spidey on opening day?!

Yes, of course the difference is unlike movies, which make more or less equal amounts their first 3 days, then little during the week, then more again (at around 50%) the 3 days of the next weeked, I'll bet MS makes 70% of their total the first day, and the sales will sharply taper off in the coming days as a lot of people who would get it already did the first day.
  21. Runways aren't easy targets. I'm not sure how the game figures out if it's destroyed or not.
  22. I take it you mean other than the F6 view?
  23. Flight Sims......

I never got BoB2, but I have the others. Well, almost. I've still only got OFF1 installed. Haven't had the chance to do OFF2 yet, but that's because I've flown it so little. I've spent a lot more time in FE than in OFF just because I know someone with FE and we fly it MP. Solo-wise I've done about the same with both. For WWII, I have Il-2 and CFS3 installed, but again I never fly either offline, just MP. Since the guy I flew CFS3 with no longer has it installed, it means I've not touched it in months. When I fly props, it's Il-2, but it's not frequent.
  24. I'm hoping this is more realistic than Over G Fighters and not less so, like Ace Combat. A big name product along the lines of the Jane's Fighter Anthology series would be nice...but I'm probably hoping for nothing.
