Just remember this--who killed the F-14D??
-
The final resting place of Holy Grail is the Castle Arrrrrrrrghh... What? Castle Arrrrrrrrghh... What is that? He must have died while carving it. Oh, come on! Well, that's what it says! Look, if he was dying, he wouldn't bother to carve 'aaaaaggh,' he'd just say it! Well, that's what's carved in the rock Perhaps he was dictating... Oh, shut up!

Coop 4ever!!!!

All I can think when looking at these shots is "why wasn't the game itself released closer to what these mods are doing?"
-
Now if it had real working guns...

I saw that yesterday, neat POV. I was there a LOOOONG time ago...1991 I think? Anyway, the Saturn V was on its side in stages on the original trailers and the A-12 was literally in the parking lot with a rope around it.

Right, Congress pays the bills and holds the purse strings. While you can blame a president for what the military does, you can't blame him for its size or equipment.

She turned me into a newt!!! I got better.

Yeah, Steve Colbert does the voice of his boss on HB, with Gary Cole being the Birdman himself. Actually, there's a Capt at our base whose name is pronounced "kay-zor", and everytime I see the nameplate on her door I say that to myself..."Captain KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYZORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"

Bunch of idiots have something against the Air Force

So is self-righteousness. -
If you know there are cruise missiles incoming, there are F-15Cs, Super Hornets, and Raptors equipped with the latest AMRAAM model optimized for cruise missile defense available. However, if you DON'T know... Besides, the biggest threat is going to be a cruise missile launched from an innocuous-looking ship off the coast. Open a cargo container, reveal the launcher, fire away. It's all about deterrence and threat of retaliation. The problem is we're rarely facing a nation that can be retailated against directly nowadays.

When I first read this thread, I thought it was for Dr Hfuhruhurr.

Just my wife and mother-in-law. Like her mother, she didn't marry one.

Yes, the Blackshark addon for LOMAC featuring the Ka-50 should be the LB2 of the 21st century. Well, almost. Still no dynamic campaign, but the systems fidelity and FM should be the best we've seen. I played Hind quite a bit in the late 90s. I remember dodging Stingers launched by those little men quite often! It linked up with the previous sim, Apache, for H2H action, but I never got to try it.

Nellis AFB, 1959 LIVE FIRE Air show!
JediMaster replied to Spectre_USA's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Miffed? Yeah, me too. A year after I started working here, in 2003, there was an airshow with the T-birds AND Blue Angels. It's supposed to be a biannual event, but the 2005 event was cancelled because of "the combined pressures of overseas commitments and an upcoming ORI". The ORI was done a good month plus before the event would've happened, and the BA's and TB's aren't affected by that stuff anyway. I don't know what the deal was. Then early this year I heard talk of the return again...and it just never happened. Nothing worse than working at an AF base for over 5 years and only getting 1 airshow over 4 years back... -
NATO Fighters 3
JediMaster replied to column5's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
It's the one that I know is in the works, but don't know exactly what it will do or when it will be coming out. -
I totally forgot about OFP/ArmA because it's pretty much an infantry sim with armor and air support added in. I do agree about the FMs, though. It was far easier to fly around in OFP than it is in ArmA, unfortunately.
-
Ah, so the RAF didn't turn theirs on after all. I hardly see the value in exercises with someone you can't consider "friend" enough to use your planes to even close to their real abilities. I'm surprised they all didn't just run around the airbase with their arms out going "whoosh!" so that the other side didn't find out what their planes can do flight-wise.
-
Over "20"? That number IS insignificant, especially spread out over that area. If it was 20+ in a single spot, heading for a NATO exercise or something, that would be. If it was closer to 100 planes, it would be.

That's what always gets me, be it a SAM or AAM...the first one you can defeat, but if that second one is just the right distance (not so far out you have time to reset your position or so close you jink both at once) it will hit you within seconds of you outwitting #1.

I played CoD1 offline once, and then gave it away. Never played the MP, after about 10 mins struck me as "more of the same". Never got the expansion, only played the demo for CoD2, and of course 3 was console-only excluding me. However, if the SP game is there I may pick it up at a discount. With no coop MP, it's not a priority for me.

If I had the time, I would. For now, Dangerous Waters is all the sub fix I have time for. I played a ton of Aces of the Deep a decade ago, but I just don't have as much time to devote anymore!

RACE 07 demo released
JediMaster replied to Revvin's topic in Racing Simulations General Discussions
Ok, there's a slight difference between a game and a movie--I only spend 2 hours watching the movie, I spend a LOT of hours on a given sim. In fact, of those 4 I've barely touched GTL. Less than 10 hours total since I got it...18 months ago? rFactor has had the most time, followed by GPL (over the decade I've had it), then GTR2. My older sims like F1C, NSR, and NR 2003 aren't even installed because of time!
