  1. Chinese carrier Liaoning/Varyag delivered

Of course, each side blames the other for the shortcomings. Nothing new there. Interesting that there are conflicting reports of whether the boilers must be replaced or if new insulation can simply be installed. Obviously a simple repair would be cheaper and faster than removal, but I guess without knowing the actual condition of the boilers some people are guessing.
  2. There are F-117s. Check ODS or NATO Fighters 5 for starters. Might even be a standalone somewhere...
  3. What do you want, they're French!
  4. The Command Center II

So what purpose does the MFP serve? Printing the post-flight checklists?
  5. Radials

Really. REAL men use rotaries, and put treads on them to serve as the rear wheel...
  6. So... this new PLAAF stealth fighter...

Yeah, Pakistan will get F-22s. I believe the date for that is around 2105?
  7. Chinese carrier Liaoning/Varyag delivered

7/8??? That's ridiculous. I mean, those are boilers, hardly bleeding-edge technology. Let me guess, they're all originals that were "refurbished" after sitting and rusting for over a decade? They should've put new ones in if so. I mean, you don't buy a new fighter and stick the engines from the old ones in it.
  8. Must admit those last pics confuse me. Is that all supposed to be an F-16? I notice it has a Flanker's shadow and IRST in front of the windscreen along with a radar like the 27 or 29, not the F-15C.
  9. Seeing as this month ends Sunday and we'd not gotten a firm date yet I was pretty sure this was going to happen. Like Baldric said, though, I'm in no rush to get a sim with bugs. Waiting a bit is just fine.
  10. IRIS: F-14

You mean 4 years since THAT interview. The actual game was announced Yeah, if after 7.5 years you've got nothing to show...you're not doing it.
  11. He's talking about Thrust Vectoring! We're talking about universal armageddon!! You green-blooded, inhuman....
  12. Voila. http://shop.ubi.com/store/ubina/en_US/pd/ThemeID.8605600/productID.180160000
  13. Mil funnies

"I was in labor for 3 DAYS!!!!"
  14. My Dear American Friends.....

He will get the best healthcare America can provide to those who are not rich!
  15. That's Bigelow. Concorde cost more, but had too many restrictions. Twice as fast in return for MORE than twice the price, tiny seats/limited passenger capacity, and limited routes to "cross Atlantic". Build a Concorde II the size of a 787 that can cross the Pacific at M2.5 for less than 2x the cost of a regular plane ticket and it will work.
  16. So... this new PLAAF stealth fighter...

No, it's 90% "what the USA gives us" and 10% "what ISI manages to get others to do for them".
  17. Chinese carrier Liaoning/Varyag delivered

There's a reason India went the MiG-29K route, and that Russia itself is as well instead of pursuing updated Su-33s. We'll see if China learns that sooner rather than later.
  18. I'm glad DCS does, because I don't support TV. Most of it is crap!! Endless reality shows, formulaic dramas... Uh, what are we talking about again?
  19. IRIS: F-14

Far too early to tell how it will end up. I've seen some great renders of the A-10 in Fighter Ops, too...
  20. I believe "collect underpants" is supposed to be in there somewhere... Anyway, as TW is a 1-man operation with a few part-timers, the resources aren't there. He'd need a publisher to bankroll, and I don't think he has any more interest in going that route.
  21. I guess we'll see how the market shakes out.
  22. I thought they were using the same external model though?
  23. U.S. Envoy to Libya, Killed in Attack

Now we just need the US to announce a $1m bounty on anyone attempting to collect that bounty!
  24. Right now, going to the ISS is the only source of money. Branson, Bigelow, and others are trying the "if you build it..." method, but they've got a chicken and egg issue. Spaceflight that takes you back to your destination is a novelty, a ride at the county fair. Going to somewhere is the holy grail. An orbital hotel ala 2001 would be a great first step. Another would be flights from one spot on the globe to another. If you could fly from LA to New Zealand in 1/4 the time PLUS be in space for part of the trip, wouldn't that be worth it?
