  1. New screens for an older bird...

No HUD? Or are you getting HMDs?
  2. I shall count the rivets. One. Two. Three. Done.
  3. Two words: campaign customizer.
  4. BMS 4.32 Update 1 released!

Silly me, I would've called THAT version 4.4. Of course, there's the ED way of releasing, they could call it 4.32.1.1.1.1.1. I shudder to think what 4.5 will be, probably DX11 with tesselation and tons of new shaders.
  5. New F-16V unveiled

I wonder if anyone ever did one of those "lifetime cost" estimates for the F-16 that seems all the rage now? All they want to talk about for the F-35 is how much will have been spent by the day we retire the last one...assuming that happens when they say it will. The F-22 was like the B-2 where they had a set number to build and then they shut down the line, no hope of buying more even though it would've been cost-effective. But no, we have to redirect the funding to the F-35, because that's important. *money goes to F-35* Oh no! Look how much money the F-35 is taking!! Blah blah blah.
  6. Flight Sim Rant...

I don't understand CoD at all. Each successive release I find less and less interesting, and the MP holds no allure for me whatsoever. I played COD4 once, took me 4 MASSIVE hours to finish it, and that's all I did with it. I suppose some day I might go back and play it again for another 4 WHOPPING hours. I won't be buying any more of the CODs.
  7. Check your option.ini in the latest patch version of SF2. Right there it says SF2NA = false, so it's obviously meant to merge. Of course, whether it does or not is another matter!
  8. BMS 4.32 Update 1 released!

    They couldn't call it 4.33?
  9. Flight Sim Rant...

What's the point of wonderful eye candy if the thing works like crap? The reason old games keep getting played despite graphics that are poor by current standards is because they're enjoyable. Then modders come along and devote time and effort to making better pictures because that's something that doesn't require coding. After all, 3rd party modders have made planes and weapons and ships and improvements to TK's stock terrains for years, all looking far better than TK could manage on his limited budget and schedule. But all those mods required the code base to be there to support them. That's what developers should concentrate on. I mean, look at Minecraft! Worst graphics EVER, since before Quake anyway, and it's a big hit because you can do stuff with it. No one argues Call of Duty's latest doesn't look great, but the gameplay hasn't changed. If anything, it's more simplistic to play than CoD1 was all those years ago. Probably why people STILL play CoD1.
  10. Will you be stronger...faster...better? How many millions will it cost?
  11. One way to keep the Prison population down

    The Inquisition...what a show...
  12. That would be 6 PM in TK's home time zone, I don't think that's necessarily when he'd say "too late" and wait till the next day. Now if you said "17 hrs", then you would be correct because then it's the 16th for TK.
  13. To answer accurately: It will be available when it's released. If you want a date, frankly I don't think even TK knows. He probably does know what's left to be done/fixed, and perhaps knows roughly how many weeks of work that is, but I'm sure things happen to delay that all the time. Hence it's mid February and it's not out despite his comment about how "he'd tried" to get it out by Xmas. It must have been relatively close back then, so it's obviously closer now!
  14. Your first combat flight sim...

I like dropping them in SF still.
  15. ArmA 2 or 3?

Arma 2 came with stock tractors. Anyway, combined ops with the DLC is a great package. In fact, a patch was released earlier this year IIRC to 1.60 and the game runs better than ever. I understand there's yet another one coming soon. Arma 3 will have lots of new features and as you say will likely need several patches to make it "right", but I'm not concerned because over the last 10 years BIS has done a great job. The only problem was when they stopped the OFP patches for a long time when their CM deal broke down. That was long before Arma though.
  16. LEBANON

Hey, that could be their slogan! Lebanon, sucking for over 30 years!
  17. Wanna join the IDF?

I was wondering more about the divorce bubble myself.
  18. WARNING!

As mine is several hundred miles away in Atlanta for the week, I had little choice. We went out to dinner last weekend, and on her birthday (which is just a week before Valentine's Day), and at least we have a 3 day weekend coming up for Mattress Day.
  19. Corporate b*stards

I don't think I ever heard anyone call Morden "Trotsky" before.
  20. Flight Sim Rant...

I don't think I've seen anyone who started simming in the 21st century complain about how few flight sims there are now. It's only those who started in the late 90s or earlier who ever knew a different market. I also don't understand how a game can't be made for less than a few million dollars. Other than art assets, the rest of game coding isn't that much different from the way it used to be. Maybe the fact that most games have a credit list longer than a 1970s film should be a clue. It should not cost $10 million to make a pretty game that you can learn to play in 5 minutes and finish playing in 5 hours.
  21. Singapore Airshow

    I didn't know Malaysia had a MiG-29 display flight.
  22. You'll target the ship the same way you target everything else now. The instant you get in the cockpit you hit "E" and it says "enemy carrier". Or "runway". Or "goddamnevilcommsbuildingdottir."
  23. Ugh...I'd rather buy you an actual F-14 than have THAT prediction be right.
  24. WARNING!

It's not religious. We're all celebrating the multiple deaths of the St Valentine's Day Massacre, aren't we? That's why I gave my wife a Tommy gun.
  25. Corporate b*stards

Of course, for online music there is no supply limitation. Every person on the planet could DL a copy of the songs and they'd still be there tomorrow, no delay to "manufacture" another digital copy.
