It's always weird when you recognize a child/young actor in an old film that's now anactor as an adult. Billy Zane in Back to the Future, Elijah Wood in Back to the Future 2, Camilla Belle in Lost World...

Considering how many expectations TK is quick to shoot down, I also would not expect a $40 title. I think he'd not get it out till the end of THIS year! My guess is $30-35. In other words, more than any of the previous "rerelease" SF2 titles, but still not as much as a release from ED or 1C.

I think it's because they finally realize the money they make on the taxes is far outstripped by the healthcare costs they pay incurred by those individuals. Whether they're in the military, gov't service, or some other public-funded healthcare, taxpayers foot the bill for other people's vices. Now if there was some clause that said "smoking related illnesses will not be covered or treated for those whose healthcare is paid by public monies", I think you'd see a lot less gov't movement in that area.

There seems to be a requirement that the music for nat'l anthems be bad. The lyrics vary, but are usually pretty decent. That doesn't matter, though, when the music is crap. Too bad America The Beautiful wasn't picked, because that had good music too.

As I've maintained for years, there is no difference between the 2 US parties beyond what they claim to stand for. What they really stand for is "whatever I have to do to get reelected and/or make a ton of money."

It's very hard in Falcon. You need to time it very well to evade. Jammers and chaff/flares seem to work ONLY when coupled with the perfect break at the right time. Actually, jammers only decrease the range they can attack you at. I've never spoofed a missile with the jammer. Practice with labels on so you can see exactly where the missile is. Too soon a break and it just follows you. Too late and it barely has to move.

Will we be able to add a cockpit folder and a line to the .ini to fly the carrier in NA??!?!?!

Well, the things like textures and 3d models are the same regardless which OS you use, so it WILL look better, stock SF2 vs stock SFP1 that is. The fancy shaders and improved performance depend on DX10, though, so the better lighting and shadows and stuff you'll miss out on.

I had zero interest in paying for an MMO, but for free I've been considering STO. I dislike MMOs, their game mechanics (grinding, raids, etc) that have become rote and passe, the fact that you pay every month however much time you use it, etc. If it's free, though, well at least like you say you're investing no more than time. Granted my time is limited and worth a lot to me, but that's the very reason why I won't pay for an MMO as the thought of going the good part of a month and not getting to play is anathema to me if I've paid for it already. I plan on giving this a try at SOME point.

What didn't you like about rf2's beta?

I can't really remember, I watched a ton of stuff as a kid! I don't recall there being one or even a few shows that were "I gotta see!" though, at least not until the new ST series started when I was a teenager.

Of course, most of the "news" that has come out is being written with a decided "OMG this plane is sooooo expensive and look at all the problems it's having!!!!!11111" spin. There is little to no comparison with how plane programs have gone in the past, including costs. For example, the ONLY number most stories report is the "total lifetime cost"...they put in R&D, EMD, production of every plane from first to last, spare engines, maintenance, upgrades, fuel, etc etc etc and, since this one plane will be in larger numbers than any other in US inventory (since there are 3 models across 3 services, and you'd have to add the A-10, F-16, AV-8, and F/A-18 numbers together to compare, and they're too lazy to do that), the number is large. But it's very misleading because it's just an estimate. We don't know the lifecycle costs of any fighter more recent than the F-117 and F-14, the last to be retired, both in quite small numbers compared to the F-35. F-15, F-16, and F/A-18 are all still in service and will be for years to come, so no one knows yet what the total will be. Good chance the F-35 will be around longer than they project as well.

My TIR4 is still getting plenty of use. Had I bought a 5 I'd sell it certainly, but I don't think the 5 is $150 better than the 4 to buy it!

It does look great. But rFactor 2 is coming out! And GTR3!! TOO MANY GOOD RACING TITLES!!!!

An interesting game. The only way to win is not to play. After very careful consideration, sir, I've come to the conclusion that your system sucks.

At least the IDF girls have their eyebrows. I find fake eyebrows highly offensive.

I don't know about a laser per se, but a microwave weapon or some other type of directed energy weapon is likely. Something that could shoot at a SAM radar and fry its electronics. Something that could fire at a plane and fry ITS electronics.

That's a lot of bytes.

I never patched my NF4+ install past June 2010 I think for that very reason. However, all my other mods are in an up-to-date install, although TBH I've not had very much time in it at all since the latest patch.

Are those hats armored?

Smart weapons. Let you attack from farther away with equal or better precision. Sure for dumb bombs and rockets and strafing the older planes are likely better, but there's not as much of that nowadays since collateral damage has become a 4-letter word.

I saw an interview with Lucas where he said he had a hard time getting this film made because it's relatively big budget but has no white stars. They felt it wasn't worth more than a few million because that's all it would make...not many would pay to see a film of almost totally black actors, just a couple of white actors in minor roles. He also said the few surviving members left who saw it were supportive. So obviously any inaccuracies they felt were more than compensated for by the rest.
