Terrains for WOE?
DoctorQuest replied to gwpc's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I have a suggestion. It might help to have the readme file included in the download description. I don't think any of them are huge and in this case the readme clearly states that the Falklands terrain is only for Strike Fighters. I agree it is a major pain to do a large download over dial-up only to find the add-on won't work. Wings Over Europe came out in May of 2006 so it's probably chancy that any terrain developed before that will work in WOE. (Falklands was uploaded in March 2006). Anyway we should not assume everyone has broadband and the luxury to download a huge file just to get to the readme. BTW, I'd be willing to help with this type of documentation but I don't want to step on toes without permission. -
Yeah, me, too....... Have a good one, Zur!

You could try reformatting your smallest drive to FAT32. Then install Win98 there. You will not be able to access any of your NTFS drives from Win98. I would also suggest ONLY formatting one of your drives to FAT32 and then install USAF to that drive. I recall that some of the "WINXP problems" with USAF may have been related to running on an NTFS drive.

where to find sopwith addon planes for original FE

Could not agree more. This is not a "am I putting Starforce on my system" kind of decision. This is a no-brainer if you are a TW junkie. -

Korean Air War books please?
DoctorQuest replied to Stratos's topic in Military and General Aviation
Fiction or non-fiction? If non-fiction a good resource is http://www.airforcehistory.hq.af.mil/Publi.../titleindex.htm. Not restricted to the Korean War. Search the page for "Korea". -
Paid over 4 for unleaded in Florida. A place very near the airport. Blackguard. I paid much less (3.40ish) out in the suburbs. In Omaha, 3.40 + at most stations. Around 3.20 at the local Costco. But, Dave, we LIKE doing dissertations. Most of us are pretty crushed right now, just so you know.......

If you ever get to Epcot Center try to do the Soarin' experience. I gotta get me one of these............ It is a hang-glider simulation that uses a full half-sphere screen and is absolutely the most impressive simulation I have ever experienced. (I think it was filmed with a helicopter, though. There were a couple of low level passes that you would not have recovered from in a glider.) Plan on standing in line for a while or getting a Fast Pass. It is very popular and will most likely stay that way for a while.

LOMAC CLOUD PROBLEM
DoctorQuest replied to niro's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
How about turning off CAPS LOCK and posting a screen shot? Post your LOMAC graphic settings as well. -
Not big into either item, but smoked Salmon (if done right) is something very special. Always wanted to try catfish..... Not much of a drinker for various reasons. I do agree I would rather have a Sam Adams than other domestics.

Most of the aircraft have readme files that detail how to install them. Other are packaged as Windows installers that only need to know the location of the game. I would suggest downloading one or two that you want and checking them out.

That's either a really big cat or a really small laptop.... -
Tinkertoys. You need an airplane. Boom. You need a spaceship. Boom. You need a building. Boom. In combination with Matchbox cars and Hot Wheels I could create any world I wanted. I also had a few die-cast and plastic airplanes that I loved. Still wish I had them.

Patches + YAP Question
DoctorQuest replied to Salraine_Chi's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I don't have YAP so I can't speak to specifics but there have been several threads regarding reinstalling mods after patching. I would study up on these. My guess would be: 1. Fresh install of WOV. 2. Apply patch. 3. Reinstall YAP. There is an alternative method whereby you can have a SEPARATE clean install of WOV to which you install the patch and then copy over the CAT and DLL files to your YAP modded install. Slightly more risky but it appears to work. Does YAP not have an installer? -

Thanks for the info on YAP 2. Next time have him take you down to the Strategic Air & Space Museum. That where they put the missiles that used to be in the silos. Lot's of Cold War aircraft as well. -

Sorry. What I was asking is: Do you need to purchase all the elements of YAP1 for YAP2 to work or is YAP2 an entirely new product not requiring YAP1? And, yes, YAP is on my list of things I want but real life has been kicking me pretty hard recently. I'll get around to it soon. Keep the previews coming.... -

Good question... And does YAP2 require YAP1 or is it an entirely different product? -

Cannot patch digital downloaded version of Falcon Allied Force
DoctorQuest replied to The Crunge's topic in Falcon 4 Series
Found this on the FAQ page at Lead Pursuit. http://www.lead-pursuit.com/FAQ_01.htm 2. "Old file not found..." message while patching If you get "Old file not found. However, a file of the same was found. No update done since file contents do not match" message while trying to patch Falcon, the best thing to do is a total reinstall and patch with latest patch: Go to add/remove in control panel, remove Falcon 4.0 Allied Force. Then go to path folder you installed AF and make sure you delete any remaining files/folder in battlefield operations folder. Install from CD and use latest patch on our site under download section to patch to the current version. That should fix this issue. If you want to save you logbook copy the files in /config folder with your name in to to a safe place then move them back after all is installed. Unfortunately it specifically talks about an install from CD. -

Not to sound lame, but I assume you've asked Lead Pursuit about this?
