  1. Does YAP have one? Just curious. I had a buddy that flew in the backseat for the Nebraska ANG.
  2. Poll: Should I buy this stick?

Agreed. Stay away from this one. Find a decent USB stick online and save yourself a myriad of headaches.
  3. Yup. That would be good research material. Actually, I have a better idea. You should take ME along ;)
  4. Actually, I may do that. I've done voice work in the past and have some decent audio processing software. Give me two weeks.......
  5. Flanker 2.5

Me, too. I won't go into why...... Check out the LOMAC forum on Simhq. There was a thread about updated cockpits for 2.5. Not sure about terrains.....
  6. Elmendorf AFB: What is this structure?

I was going to say Death Ray Generator, but Dave beat me to the facts. Dang.....
  7. Crap. That was it. Wrong radar setting. You learn something new every day..... Thanks, Fubar.
  8. That's what I appear to have stumbled upon. Specifying a negative BaseRCSModifier SEEMS to affect AI radar detection but when I fly against the "steathly" aircraft I can still see it on radar. Is there any way to dump or display an aircraft's calculated RCS?
  9. Ooops. I was not clear enough. I am looking for how to figure out what the RCS of an SFP1/WOV/WOE plane would be.
  10. Back home at last...

Sweet! I was due for some screensaver updates. Glad you got back home in one piece. Very nice photos.
  11. This is a great addition to the mods collection! Thanks!
  12. Happy Birthday

    A mere child....... Happy Birthday!!
  13. 5 Years

Yup. You win. C-64 was my first machine. Played the crap out of Strike Eagle....
  14. 5 Years

Can't believe how many old farts there are here (myself included.) I'm trying to figure out if there is some significance to this.
  15. Agree with all. Very good work. Just downloaded it and will try to get some stick time this weekend. The talent and dedication of the modders who work on this sim is absolutely incredible.
  16. 5 Years

Hard to believe...... As a hard core simmer and aviation historian I was thrilled to see the aircraft of the 60's modelled in a sim. I remember reading National Geographic articles during the Vietnam War and wondering what it would be like to fly those Phantoms, Crusaders and Skyhawks. My first exposure to the Thunderbirds was when they were flying the F-100 and I had a toy F-100 that I played with constantly as a kid. As an IT guy, I found it encouraging that the elements of the sim were so accessible to modding. Even without a mission editor it is fairly easy to work up a decent mission, TK appears to have made custom paint jobs fairly easy to do (not my forte, though..) and the wealth of add-on aircraft while not as prolific as MS sims is still remarkable. I won't get into it more than this but there are some sim devs that could learn a lot from TK's biz model. My most flown sims at this point are the TW series, TAW and Jane's F-15. Eye candy is nice but I have a fairly modest machine based on today's standards and I've been doing this for long enough to appreciate content more than glitz.
  17. That's sort of what I'm trying to do. Can I make some of these interior views less dark?
  18. Great pictures

It is impressive that the first few shots could be taken for screenshots from FE. Once you start seeing the terrain it begins to sink in these are the real thing. Nice collection of planes.
  19. I would think so too, but I can tell a difference between the F-15A and the Intruder for instance. The Eagle does not seem to have any "tint" to the canopy while the Intruder has a fairly significant tint. I am also referring to the view from inside the aircraft. Hitting the '.' (remove cockpit) key shows the tint's effect pretty well. I have found reference to a CanopyGlass.tga in the LOD. Mucking with that does not seem to help. I'll look for canopy.tga as well.
  20. ......as the thread continues to degenerate...................... Actually, Wings Over India might be interesting from a historical perspective.
  21. The Transition

The only practical way to do this would be to have the cars be computer controlled in certain classes of airspace. Having folks flying around willy-nilly would be a disaster waiting to happen. Of course, if you get out of crowded airspace you might be able to allow folks "manual" control of the thing. We're probably at the "automobiles will never replace horses" stage of this debate. We may never see true flying cars but we may end up seeing something we can't imagine yet as a result of all the research.
  22. The Transition

Yes, I can believe that. Damn it. I manage to survive until the 21st century and I still don't have my jetpack or flying car.
